We’ve stopped in Mapleton for years and years on the way to the coast and never have seen this shop open. I’ve always wondered, «How do they stay in business?» Until today. The door was open, and I walked in. CCR was playing loudly on an old stereo(cool) with no one to be found — excellent for shoplifting if you’re into that. The place is half a museum to Elvis and the other part vinyl shop with a lot of Beatles thrown in. Records by artists like the Doors, Dylan, Clapton, Waylon Jennings and Cheech & Chong(Up in Smoke). I actually really like this era, and some people would flip out over it. There are rarities — I saw a Beatles album for $ 75. Just can’t give a higher rating to a place that’s almost never been open(despite the posted hours).
