Alright, White Castle is a judgement free zone, y’all. I’m giving this location a solid 4⁄5 stars for being consistently White Castle-y :) This is not a gourmet burger chain. This is a no frills, everything fried, greasy spoon deal. Their sliders are classic and you cannot go wrong with them! Add cheese if you didn’t feel bad enough yet about eating White Castle. I also encourage you to explore their menu!!! Where else can you get fried macaroni bites, mozzarella sticks, and a veggie burger all in the same order?!(Ps the macaroni and cheese bites are amazing!) my only beef with this location is the speaker is crap. I used to live down the street from this place two years ago(I now live 1000 miles away) and their speaker has always been awful. You can’t tell if the person is asking you to wait, asking for your order, or reciting the alphabet. It’s a terrible speaker. Other than that, you can’t go wrong! Their breakfast is killer, too. Really great coffee and freshly cooked eggs and other options. Seriously try out their breakfast!!! Way better than the microwaved McDonald’s junk. If this place could get their speaker working and train someone to use it, it would be 5⁄5 stars.

The attendants name was Aretha, and was the rudest, most unprofessional person I’ve had the bad luck of running into in a while. All I did was ask a question about a sandwich, to which I got a very loud, NOO, YOUCAN’T DOTHAT. I was like I’m sorry, are you yelling, NOOO, I SAIDYOUCANTDOTHAT… I just drove off. Never coming back.

I admit, I am a closeted Craver. It’s not that I am embarrassed that I enjoy these steamed burgers cooked on a bed of onions and served on a steamed bun as well. It’s just that some non-cravers just do not understand the love for these tiny burgers. After all, they were the first fast food hamburger back in 1921. OMG! in 6 years they’ll be celebrating their centennial. My favorite slider now is the Jalapeño. Instead of the regular American cheese, they top the beef patty with an American cheese flavored with pieces of Jalapeño. The mix of the grilled onions and the Jalapeño cheese, just makes the heartburn so much more enjoyable. The fries may be frozen, but they serve the crinkle cut, hot and crisp. I’m glad that WC is a Coke restaurant and that they keep the fountain soda lines clean. I can personally tell the difference between freshly cleaned lines and those that have been neglected. A clean line, always makes the soda more refreshing. The staff here is at times a little scattered brain, but I have never had a mistake in my order, I’ve just had a long wait.

I’ve been to this White Castle a few times, and it’s… okay. The first time I went was for the Valentine’s Day dinner, where the employees were really friendly, but the food was a little off. The most recent time I can remember was a few days ago, when I went through the drive-thru for breakfast. That was a harrowing experience. When I first got to the intercom to order, I couldn’t understand a word of what the employee was saying, but she seemed to be giving me to okay to start ordering. I mentioned the first item I wanted – a Belgian waffles breakfast sandwich with sausage combo, coffee was fine – and then she abruptly cut me off, told me the total amount due, and told me to pull forward(though there were two cars ahead of me). I sat there kind of flabbergasted, as I had given NO indication that I was done ordering(and there was another passenger in my car). So I sat there for another minute before I got more instructions to pull forward, even though there were still two cars ahead of me. I replied that I actually was NOT done ordering, and another employee seemed to take over, as I heard two voices talking over each other trying to ask me for the rest of my order. Eventually made it through that bit… When I got to the window, it was more abruptness and impatience. The drive-thru line didn’t seem THAT busy, so I didn’t understand the curtness, especially since it was made at the expense of customer service. I don’t expect to be treated like royalty, but at least give me the time to finish putting in my order and tell me in clear terms how much I owe. Anyway. I LOVE White Castle, but not this location. Thankfully there are plenty others in the St. Louis area.

First of all, this location is open 24/7, and only closes for Christmas. I did not know that. This White Castle has been at this location since my childhood, but in a different building closer to the corner. Later, that building was torn down and the one that is there now is the one that was the first building’s replacement. White Castle is one of the few«fast food» places where I will go on occasion because I do not like fast food at all. Today, after grocery shopping, running errands and a few other things to do, I didn’t want to cook and suggested fish sandwiches and French fries from White Castle. I was perplexed by the menu for referring to their burgers as sliders. Here in this area since I was a child, White Castles have always been referred to as «BELLYBOMBERS» and I don’t understand why they are suddenly referred to as sliders. All my friends called them belly bombers. It wasn’t until I was in culinary school not too long ago that I first hear the term, sliders. Be that as it may, it’s still the same olé White Castle. They took my order and it was ready in less than five minutes which really is fast. It was four fish sandwiches and two French fries. It was hot and smelled good. The fish was square pieces of breaded fish which I expect from them, hot and didn’t smell or taste greasy like the fish sandwiches at THATOTHERPLACE that I reviewed earlier. It tasted like fried fish which was not bad at all. The French fries were the standard crinkle cut fries from a commercial producer, but they were hot completely cooked with out that greasy taste and not soggy like the French fries at THATOTHERPLACE. As they cooled down, the French fries lost their crunchiness, but still didn’t taste greasy or undercooked. Now keep in mind that fast food is exactly that, fast food, so don’t expect anything«gourmet,» but I guess that’s a given with White Castle.

I’m not really sure what friggin moron would compare White Castle to In N’ Out Burger other than an absolute invalid. The two are COMPLETELY different. One is a delicious fast food greasy west coast burger, the other is a delicious fast food greasy Midwest slider. Both are fantastic, however sticking your nose up at White Castle does not make you saint or a martyr, nor does it make you or the area you live In special in any way. It makes you an asshole. SIGH. Anyway, this location is slow. Like really, really slow. I sat in the drive through 20 minutes and I was the only one there. The food was still hot when I got home and our order was correct. Try the mozzarella sticks, they’re great.

Known for their sliders aka Crave Case … probably always will be. You get what you pay for … it’s relatively cheap for good greasy fast food. Bacon fries were a personal fav although the sliders are simply tasty because of all the oil they pump into them sliders. There is a selection of sliders so you’re not completely stuck with the standard hamburger slider. Not particularly good for your heart, but hey it’s better than most fast food places.

When hubby & I decided to go to STL for our Anniversary(never been) we were super excited but REALLY excited to try White Castle. Thanks to Harold & Kumar we had always wanted to try it out. We’d purchased the frozen White Castle burgers in the store before but never liked them to much. We just knew that it couldn’t be like going to a White Castle & ordering up a bunch of their sliders & fries. When we FIRST got to STL for our trip… the first place we went to was NOJOKE White Castle. we were starving & just couldn’t wait to try! Entering the White Castle our jaws dropped to the floor in awe of the menu. Burgers & fries being my FAVORITE food I was less than disappointed by the menu. We ordered 4 original sandwiches each & then a side of regular fries and then I had to try the loaded fries w/ranch, bacon & cheese… YUM! We enjoyed every single little bite of those deliscious mouth-watering burgers. The fries were OK but the burgers left us wanting MORE! I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed when trying this delictable little burgers. To each one it’s own though. Can’t wait to stop in after a long drive or night out and devour about 100 of these burgers! It’s just like the MOVIE Harold & Kumar… you are left craving these little patties, minced onion, buttery bun burgers! Prices could be a little more fair.

David & Logan go to White Castle. What trip to the north/midwest is complete without a trip to White Castle. Yes I know I can find this stuff in any grocery store these days, but when you’re from TX, you crave the white castle. I ordered a total of 8 sandwiches. And devoured each and every single bite. Stick to the normal fries or onion rings, the fully loaded fries are terrible. My favorite sliders are the bacon and jalapeño. The fish and chicken were OK but wouldn’t do those again. They have a new BBQ one that was serviceable. The glitz and glam of these mini burgers will never get past me so long as I can not get them in Houston, I guess it’s how I was so in love with In N Out for so many years.

White Castle is White Castle. Their breakfast sandwiches are actually decent, but I still think they’re a bit over-priced.

So so bad. Don’t know what to say about the fact that my 4yo gagged and spit it out on the table after taking his first bite of a White Castle burger. He said«This is yucky meat daddy», and I totally agree. It doesn’t taste like beef, doesn’t smell like beef, hell, it doesn’t even look like ground beef. I have no idea what it is, other than yucky. Threw the whole bag away and made PB&J instead. My first and last time buying anything from White Castle. Gross food any way you slice it. With so many decent choices in the area, why would anyone subject themselves to this?

Sigh. You know the California Gold Rush in 1848? Well, the real reason everyone was rushing to California in 1848 was because In-N-Out came out with Animal Style in 1846(the lack of internet and phones in those days meant it took about 2 years for word to get to the East Coast). In-N-Out is one of the top 3 reasons California is so awesome.(In-N-Out. California Girls(they’re unforgettable!). And Legoland.) Therefore, when I heard that White Castle was like the In-N-Out of the East Coast… I was extremely excited to finally try it. Also, my boys Harold and Kumar highly recommend this establishment. SIGH. White Castle is pretty much the opposite of In-N-Out. Not Delicious. Nobody eats here. Dinky. Dirty. No Animal Style. To all Californians: Come just so you can better appreciate how awesome In-N-Out is. Note: This review might be a little harsh because I came here with HUGE expectations.

I had my first White Castle burger just a few weeks ago. I KNOW! The truth is, for a long long LONG time, White Castle burgers freaked me out. I’ve visited before for their fish sandwiches and fries, but the burgers? I just couldn’t do it. But a few weeks ago(or was it last week?) I had a particular late-night craving for something greasy and terrible. I live minutes from this White Castle. Bingo. I ordered a few burgers, fries, and mozzarella sticks. It was super cheap. I couldn’t believe it. I tried a burger. It was… not bad! Not bad at all! Actually, it was kind of… good? I don’t know if that had to do with alcohol or not. Whatever. I’ll be back. For sure. Oh, one more thing — their sweet potato fries ROCK!

I am freaking addicted to their fish nibblers and chicken rings. WTF is a chicken ring anyway. Who cares. I don’t want to know… order them buffalo style. This is the Whities that is on the way home for me. Service is fast, but not super friendly. Food is damn good… as long as I don’t burn my mouth on the molten hot fish nibblers on the way home.

Abstract: It’s exactly what you think it is, minus Harold and Kumar… Actually, I must be one of the few who(somewhat) likes Whitey’s when sober. the joint(aka physical plant) Dumpy, as expected. I haven’t been to a nicer one, but no worse, either. Some of the table tops need to be refinished — ugly. food Regular White Castle burgers are always great. Probably better when intoxicated, but I can never remember. The bacon and cheese is a good change. Those new(for me) breakfast sandwiches are OK. Won’t be a McGriddle, but decent. staff & service I was there last Sunday night at 10pm. No one else in the dining room. 3 – 4 cars in the drive-thru. Took them about 4 – 5 minutes to even acknowledge us. Once our order was taken, it was accurate and the food was just as expected. My friend had 2 bacon cheeseburgers and he enjoyed them. I had 4 plain burgers, fries and a Coke(#1). Added mozz sticks and marinara. YUM! While we were there, one guy came in and said«I called about the cheeseburger.» Another lady came in 5 mins later complaining about her order, too. Can’t say what the resolution was, but that woman’s perfume or FDS make me almost sick to my stomach(If I wasn’t almost finished, I’d have packed up and left right there and then.) parking Adequate. I have never seen more than 3 – 4 cars in the lot. oddities i’ve noticed –Nice tempered glass on the right when you enter from the south. When the thug tosses you into it, it may not shatter(easily). suggestions –Refinish overall You know already.

Hey buddy. Hey there. I see you in your little box home. Come out and play with me. The original: I don’t like pickles but you are perfect just the way you are. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Bacon cheeseburger: Your bacon is a little squishy and not crisp how I like bacon normally, but you’re still delicious. However, not as delicious as your original older brother. Now, boys boys don’t fight, I love you both. Jalapeño cheeseburger: You have a nice bit of extra flavor. You’re not spicy but it’s ok. I still love you. Fries: You’re always crispy and burning hot and… don’t get offended when I tell you this, but you need a little more salt. Don’t get sad. You’re still delicious. Onion rings: Your batter is so thick and crispy. You’re no gourmet onion ring or anything, but you get the job done.

White Castle has so much flavorful food. Cheese fries are the best. Not really what everyone raves about, but still my favorite. Try them. Another favorite of mine are those chicken patties. They are delicious. Please go here. You won’t regret it!

Once upon a time, I was a delicate Asian flower. THEEND. Kidding… ;) But seriously, I was so tiny and frail as a toddler that my parents feared I would die of malnutrition. My mom tells me she and my dad prayed every day that I would possess an appetite and gain some weight. No matter what my parents cooked, I refused to eat more than a couple bites and would wail miserably when it was meal time. Dad moonlighted as a sports doctor for a local high school in St. Louis, and it was a weekly event for our family to pile into the car and accompany him to a football game. One day, our family drove past White Castle after the game and … through the grace of God … my dad was inspired to turn the car around and feed his newly American family(they had just emigrated from Korea a couple years before) these mysterious sandwiches made of ham that he had heard were very popular among his colleagues. That day, my family learned that hamburgers(suspiciously) tasted of and looked like beef. And teeny, tiny, delicate and fragile me … well, I ate an ENTIRE hamburger all by myself. And I DIDN’T cry. From then on, my dad drove out of his way just to buy White Castle hamburgers to prevent my inevitable death from starvation. So … let’s flash forward 30 years to the other day during my trip to St. Louis. I was there for 3 nights and 2 days. I went to White Castle twice within a 24 hour period. The restaurant was clean and white as from my childhood. The meat was thin and still had 5 holes in it. Chopped onion bits clung to each square of meat, and the singular pickle poked out enticingly from between the steamed bun like a signature olive in a martini. It was pure heaven. Mushy. Oniony. Heaven. When I lose my teeth and get sent to a retirement home, I want to be fed nothing but White Castles. Today, I can inhale a sack of ten White Castles without taking a breath between bites. I’m also a serious foodie who now cries in ecstasy when she eats food instead of shedding tears of despair. My trunk IS, I must admit, a bit heavy from the excess junk I’ve been collecting since my first encounter with White Castle as a toddler. Next time you’re on your knees praying to Jesus for a miracle, remember this little tale about White Castle and be careful of what you wish for. Nowadays, when I visit with my mother, she takes a long look at my booty and rues the day that she thanked God for my love of White Castle.
