Until now, Bluebonnet was the food destination of Marble Falls. Now, it’s this place. I have truly had some of the best food of my life here. The people working here are absolutely the most wonderful people you’ll ever meet. You want to hear a story that will inspire you to never give up, ask them how they got to Marble Falls. There’s more than a Katrina story there. I will never forget their story and I’m a better person for having heard it. Back to the food, we had the blackened fish, dirty rice, and red beans and rice. You can’t beat this in NOLA… believe me I’ve tried.

Tried it for the first time last night. Will return for the terrific food… and also to give the service another chance. Unlike most of the reviews here, we found the service to be inattentive and rather cold. We weren’t offered dessert; we weren’t offered drink refills; we weren’t asked if our meal was enjoyable; we weren’t even thanked as the check was dropped on our table without a word. We realize that everyone has an off day, and so we haven’t penalized the rating. But if the owners read these reviews, please encourage your servers to keep in mind the importance of making good impressions. At some point, even the best food won’t entice repeat visits.

My good friend Erick took me here the other day for lunch, I had never been and didn’t know what to expect I was blown away by the gumbo. Loaded with shrimp and sausage and all kinds of goodness. I can’t wait to go back and try something else!

This place is legitimate NOLA grade food! It was our first time there and we will be going back! Casual and friendly atmosphere, attentive staff. Started with an order of the onion rings, they were lightly battered and delicious and the rosette dip was awesome. Our daughter opted for less of a creole item and ordered the fried chicken tenders sandwich with the bbq sauce on the side and Mac and cheese — we all agreed each was pretty spot on and totally tasty. Adults ordered the Seafood Legier plate so we could try 3 different items in one order and really get a feel for the quality. It was some of the best fried catfish and fried shrimp we have ever had and the étouffée was outstanding! It’s also a really good sign that they know what they are doing when the French bread is crisp and fresh and garlic buttery! Definitely a must try spot!

This place is the real deal. I travel to New Orleans 4 – 5 times a year and if you like cajun food from there you will be right at home here. It was fantastic!

This place is so good! When here it’s always where I go. Today I tried the chargrilled oysters, wow, better than I had on a recent trip to New Orleans. Service is the best! Don’t miss out on this jewel!

Good choice if you are in this area. Six of us all tried something different on the menu and all selections were excellent. Be sure to try the bread pudding!

This place has the best seafood or Cajun food I have eaten. The shrimp grits, onion rings and everything else on the menu is prepared to perfection. Love this place and happy with the service.

What a surprise! The food was delicious. I could have eaten bowls of the crawfish macaroni and cheese. Best shrimp and grits. Definitely worth trying. We even took home the frozen gumbo to enjoy another meal at home.

This is my second visit and it was another excellent experience. The southern fried chicken, green beans and mac ‘n cheese are delicious. My husband loves the chicken and waffles! It reminds him of the chicken and waffles he used to order at different restaurants in Los Angeles. The restaurant’s atmosphere is relaxing. You feel like you’re at home. The servers are friendly and folksy. The menu lists an array of comfort foods that stick to your bones. What more can I say? I love the food, but must be careful of the calorie content. I can’t go more than once every other month. Bummer.

For authentic New Orleans food this place beats what Waco has to offer. It’s owned and operated by a family of Katrina refugees. They have all of the classics and then some. We enjoyed the crawfish étouffée and red beans & rice. We would have liked more rice, though, and the green beans were a little salty. The chocolate cake that came complementary with our Unilocal check-in was great – hot and drizzled with icing. The atmosphere is family-friendly. There are two televisions, high ceilings, and tile floors.

This is certainly the tastiest variety of food available in Marble Falls. There’s really no wrong choices on the menu — I should know, I’ve tried most all of them! The fried catfish is fabulous — a large full fillet fried to perfection. They don’t offer the all-you-can-eat anymore, but maybe it will return — those were smaller pieces. The crawfish, fried or in étouffée is GREAT! The fried oysters are very nice but I haven’t had the shrimp in either size. My dad loved the Pontchartrain with the traditional red beans and rice. Go for the onion rings and ask for the dipping sauce. If you get the full dinner fried chicken, I dare you to finish the half-chicken — they also offer it for lunch. Never tried the crab cakes or the pasta but I’m sure they’re great. Didn’t know about the lobster/crawfish mac and cheese but after reading about it, gonna ask for it next time. I’m always greeted and recognized at the place even though I’m there only a couple times a year on average — used to be more when I’d visit our lakehouse. I ALWAYS visit this place when I’m there. The staff is wonderful and friendly. They were all washed out from their homes and church in New Orleans by the hurricane and moved here en masse, the only group that forced FEMA to keep them together. What a wonderful treat that was to Marble Falls. Never open on Sundays.

S.O. and I decided to eat here for lunch on a Wednesday. It was a quick decision. I saw there were only good reviews. =) So we were immediately greeted and seated. Quite polite and after a few moments of deliberation, our drinks were ordered. They don’t serve alcohol, found that out wile joking with our waitress. Few minutes later, we ordered our food and an appetizer. Crab cakes Crab cakes, I didn’t much care for. But that was my first time trying them. SO said they were really good. They were pretty big and came with 2. Entrée time: I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes with gravy on the side and she asked if I wanted a veggie, so I picked potato salad. The potato salad never came out. Which was fine, as I was able to get their deal of… Check in and get a free dessert! Anyhow, I couldn’t finish the chicken, too much. Leg, thigh, breast, and wing. Smelled delicious and tasted that way too. Mashed potatoes were good as well. SO ordered the catfish basket. Came with one large catfish filet, side of onion rings. He devoured it. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Dessert is bread pudding. I’ve never had that before either. The smell was nice, sweet. The texture isn’t a so great though. Tastes sweet, sugary and cinnamon… Soggy bread. Not really a fan. SO was not a fan either. But today was about new things. It wasn’t horrible. But probably wouldn’t order it if I were paying for it. I’m not in love with this place. I would come back if SO wanted to. Not on my own though. Atmosphere was great. Service was super polite.

The Southern Fried Chicken is delicious and made to order, but worth the wait! It comes with a side and our friendly server made a great recommendation to add a side of crawfish mac and cheese for $ 3(which I read from Unilocal customers is good)! It is very tasty. We found the étouffée and blackened fish served over rice authentic. The bread pudding is also done nicely as many recommend.

I looked this restaurant up on Unilocal prior to our trip and was really looking forward to it based off pictures and reviews. When I tell you they EXCEEDEDALL of my expectations. From the moment June greeted us at the door I felt like I was at home. She made my wife and I very comfortable and we laughed the entire time. Now to the food… everything was delicious!!! We started off with the crab mac-n-cheese(great appetizer), my wife had the fried chicken(made fresh) and I had the catfish. My dish was good but my wife’s chicken was so good I ordered some to go! I then told June we wanted to have dessert and she recommended we try the bread pudding. Normally I hate it(bad experience first time), but I was assured that this would not be the same. She was correct again! If you aren’t already at this place, GET there! Genuine people, great service, AMAZINGFOOD!!!

Delicious catfish! It was my first time trying Louisiana style food and I recommend it! I had fried cat fish with sausage and rice with red beans! Filling and tasty! Also tried the bread pudding which was delightful! Will return if I’m back in the area !

Five stars does not do this place justice. Marble Falls(of all places!) is home to some of the best Cajun/Creole grub I’ve ever had. Everything, and I mean everything, on the menu is superb — lobster mac and cheese(off menu), chicken and waffles, pontchartrain, crawfish étouffée, shrimp and grits… I haven’t been let down once. The banana pudding is off the hook too. The staff are some of the best I’ve encountered. Sad that Hurricane Katrina is what caused them to find a new home, but it seems like the small town of Marble Falls has embraced them. You won’t be let down if you decide to stop on in. Probably the best food in town and some of the best food I’ve ever had.

I’m not sure what I was expecting when I came in here — this restaurant is reviewed fairly high for the area. While in the end the food was good, we had a few problems here that didn’t really add up to a stellar experience. 1. They were kind of busy when we came in and we were told to wait to be seated by someone at the register. Eventually, a waitress came by and confusedly looked around for a place for us to sit. I pointed to an open table behind me, and she nodded — and that’s how we were seated. She didn’t come back with menus or silverware — we had to poach those from another table. Not a great start, but not a deal breaker. 2. Our waitress came over fairly shortly after that and was pretty prompt with service from then on. She took our drink order and our order and that was good. I think we waited about 15 – 20 minutes for our food. While we waited, I kind of looked around and there were a lot of food and drink splashes along the walls and such — tables that hadn’t been cleaned off yet… again, not great but not a deal breaker. The atmosphere was kind of simple — tables, chairs, an interesting story about a church in LA surviving both Katrina and Rita. Lots of happy people eating… that was good. 3. We ordered the crawfish etouffe with red beans and rice, and the grilled chicken with red beans and rice. It was all very good. My husband said that his crawfish etouffe was very similar to his favorite, Papadeaux. We’ve never found such a close comparison to Papadeaux and believe me, we’ve tried. He wished that there were more crawfish and less roux. but he said the roux was excellent. My chicken was seasoned very nicely and was incredibly moist — I really liked it. I also got a cornbread muffin that was really good. Both of our orders of red beans and rice had good spice, but they were drippy and needed salt. So, I’m going with three stars here. There were things that went well here, and things that could’ve gone better. I think that TRNOSR is on the right track, but there’s room for improvement.
