Super great location with good, quick service. I didn’t get anything fancy, just a hot dog and onion rings. The hot dog was solid and the onion rings were good. They were a little under salted/bland, but I fixed that. The onion rings came in a giant pile, so definitely share. I also got a lemonade and it was good and refreshing. You can’t beat the location if it’s not too humid out it’s nice to sit out and look at the view. Just watch out for seagulls, they will dive bomb your food if you’re not looking. Saw it happen with a family. Burger down. The kids thought it was hilarious and so did I. Fyi if you’re looking for a good view and nicer food check out the Barnacle on Front St.

Lime Rickey’s is the only food option at Devereaux Beach in Marblehead. They offer soups, salads, sandwiches, ice cream(Richardson’s) and of course lime rickeys. My friend and I were hungry during our time at the beach and headed over to Lime Rickey’s for lunch. The line was quite long, as there was only one window open to place orders. We ended up waiting about 10 minute in line, and once our order was placed, we waited an additional 10 minutes for our number to be called. I ordered a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and my friend ordered a BLT– and it was not worth the 10 minute wait! Our sandwiches were on par with typical beach food, but nothing special. There is outdoor seating on a porch on the side of the restaurant, although the tables were all filled, so we ended up taking our food back to our beach chairs. The food wasn’t worth the wait, although it is the only option at Devereaux Beach if you don’t bring food with you.

I really like the location of this restaurant. I had the chicken fingers and they were pretty good but a little expensive. The burger my husband got was amazing he said. I was not impressed with the chicken kabob because it had some weird sauce on it. However the raspberry lime rickey was really good

I used to love this place, and then the new ownership took over. We used to hit this place up when we would go to Devereux beach(when Crane beach is overrun with those evil greenheads). Yes, it could be busy and a bit slow but you’re at the beach chill out and relax. It was great for fried clams, and a cold drink and was reasonably priced for a on the beach location with very generous portions. We went back for the first time since new ownership yesterday and eek! I will now be packing food only when hitting up Devereux. The service was just as slow which wouldn’t bother me but they got our order mixed up with someone else’s twice but hey they are just teens working there so. Then the priced had to double or close to it for fried clams which if that wasn’t enough the portion of clams shrank. I use to love red rock bistro as well which apparently the same new owner bought as I’m assuming a package deal but won’t be going there after how bad this was. The only positive thing I will say is that the clams were pretty good at least the overpriced small portions weren’t terrible.

I had a lime rickey. it was nice. they noted that their kitchen was backed up(I was the only person standing on teh sidewalk) from diners in the restaurant, and they share a kitchen. and it would be 15 for clams or anything like that. So, not a 4 star, it was not that nice a lime rickey, but it was nice. but at least a 3 because they told me I didn’t want to eat there, which is worth something, I think I think.

I am shocked this place has only two and a half stars! It is what it is; it’s a very convenient place for good food and a great variety of non-alcoholic beverages. The only reason I only go to this beach instead of any other beach is because of this place. They are relatively quick and a little on the pricey side(you’re paying for convenience and location), but you can’t beat it. The only reason I gave it four stars was because the bathrooms are either always occupied, always dirty, never have toilet/hand towels/soap, or always stink.

This(only) snack shack on this tiny beach is kind of like having had Mitt Romney as the Governor of my(extremely liberal) home state — It’s always better in your memory than it ever was in reality. Having come here many years ago and indulged in their burgers and fries, I was sad to experience their… burgers and fries. And fish sandwich. They were all frown-worthy at best. Overcooked, damp fries, tasteless burger and fish sandwich and the Lobster Roll had NOSAUCE. The lobster meat itself was great(though when lobster costs $ 2.00/lb, I find it a bit disgusting to still charge $ 16 for a lobster roll, but this scam isn’t only going down here, so I won’t hold that against them so much…) but if you have just lobster meat on a roll without sauce, you gotta tell people. I’m sorry, you do. Otherwise it’s just«Meat and Bread,» and that ain’t no sandwich. I’m only giving it 2 stars because the lobster meat, though naked and unadorned, was fresh and because I was told by an attractive and therefore trustworthy couple that the ice cream was decent. I believe them. Pack a cooler full of Lunchables if you can, you’ll save A LOT of money and escape with probably just about the same level of gastro-intestinal distress…

this place is basically the concession stand at the beach. the food is great if that’s what you’re looking for. it’s convenient and there’s ample choice of fried foods and sandwiches. it’s not cheap, but it’s convenient and decent.

If you’re going just for ice cream, it’s great. Otherwise, I wouldn’t waste your money. We went on Mother’s Day and ordered grilled cheese with tomato for each of the kids. When we got our food, only one sandwich had tomatoes. After bringing it back, they pulled a pre-made sandwich off of a shelf, threw some cold tomatoes onto it and handed it to my daughter. She ate it, because she’s a sweetheart, but it was pretty awful. Completely cold. My husband and I decided to share the lobster roll, even though it seemed really expensive for beach food($ 17). First of all, it looked about like the smallest hot dog I had ever seen all wrapped up in the foil. I wish we had left it in the foil. It was terrible! If we hadn’t been so hungry we would definitely not have eaten it. It tasted all fishy and old. It seemed to be staffed by a few teenagers. I didn’t notice anyone who looked like they were in charge.

What a horrible experience. With a Groupon of $ 14, the bill came to over $ 20 for a miniscule burger, two drinks(their«signature» drink $ 3.50!), tasteless onion rings(half of which were stolen by aggressive seagulls), and a $ 16.95 lobster roll, the amount of lobster equivalent to the hot dog the bun was made for. A gorgeous night for a beach meal in Marblehead, spoiled by the outrageous prices, meager portions, adolescent employees(who couldn’t be bothered to refill the condiments, or throw out the spoiled cole slaw) and the thieving seagulls(not to be blamed on Lime Rickey’s)

Wow, that place wasn’t anything I expected. I guess I broke my own rule and got super jazzed for trying a new place. Epic fail! My wife ordered the $ 12 scallop roll, and it had just 5 scallops on it! I tried the $ 14 clam roll and only got 7 clams! PS, no chips or fries come with these rolls either. The grease tasted weeks old, and it turned the food a brown not meant for food. Even the lime raspberry rickey was too sweet, adding to the pain. I guess if you have money to blow while your at the beach, it is your place. We, on the other hand will skip it.

I went here because I had a groupon for half off. To start the location is awesome! It is right on the beach and there is seating outside and inside. There are also picnic tables on the sand. The prices are steep but the location is amazing. As for the food I got the lobster roll and it comes with chips. My mother in law got the cubano and onion rings. The lobster roll was terrible. The worst one I have ever had. So bad that I only had two bits and then threw it out. There was literally no mayo or anything and the lobster tasted old. The cubano was amazing! It was big enough that my mother in law gave me half and then she ate half. It had a really good flavor. The onion rings were good too and it was a large amount. I would go back for another cubano but seriously do not order the lobster roll.

The food overall was fine… the prices for what you got, however, were horrible. $ 13.00 for two small pieces of fish and some fries is totally unnecessary. The lemonade was fine, if a bit under flavored… the location is great and it was awesome to be out by the beach today, but I would skip the regular food and just get an ice cream cone instead.

All outdoor deck seating right on the beach! The raspberry Rickey drink was delish! The lobster roll was pretty good, but had only a few pieces of really big meat. The onion rings were yummy! The only disappointment was that it doesn’t seem like the staff makes any effort to clean up the outdoor tables, chairs or restrooms during the day.

This is the perfect stop when you’re nearing the end of a beach day and you’re dehydrated, possibly suffering from sun stroke and can’t bear the thought of getting decked out for dinner in town. Memorial Day 2K10 marked my second visit to this quintessential seafood shack on the beach and Lime Rickey’s remains my #1 for a low-maintenance, delicious meal. My order two years running: mozzarella sticks, lobster roll and vanilla soft serve with lots o’ toppings. Lobster roll enthusiasts should know this is straight up fresh lobster meat in a hot dog bun, not a mayo-based salad w/onions, etc. This pleased me, but left some ordering fried clams — also very good. I also stole some fries from a fellow diner that were swell. So basically, get a cover-up for that bikini, because it’s worth feasting sans shame here.

The location of this place is really the only reason it’s still getting as much business as it does. The line was very long, and the girls running the counter did not really seem to have much under control. This probably explains why we had a not-so-awesome experience… Went there w/my bf and decided to split a chowder, fried scallops and an order of onion rings, along with a raspberry lime rickey, because how can you go to a place called«Lime Rickey’s» and not actually order one? After a ½ hour of waiting, we finally went to the pick up window to see why our order of all *fried* food and a soup was taking so long. Another guy was at the window looking for his hot dog and chicken fingers that he was waiting longer than we were for. Oy. They«checked», read as «went back and finally started cooking our food», and our food came out after another 15 mins later. The other guy still didn’t get his until we were half finished w/ours. Out of, say, 30 people in line, only about 5 people actually ordered real food, everyone else was ice cream… so why did our food take so long??? Anyway, the onion rings were really good. The fries were ok. The scallops were AWFUL. It seemed like they turned up the heat on the oil to cook them faster, so the batter was extra crispy, but the scallop was still raw. Ick. And the chowder tasted like it came from a can. Very disappointing experience. If it weren’t for the location, I’m pretty sure we’d never go there again. We did get ice cream on our way out to put a smile on our faces, cuz how can ice cream go wrong? We’ll go there again, but only for onion rings and ice cream. and maybe a lime rickey, cuz that was good too.

You’d think the lime rickeys at a place called Lime Rickey’s would be good. They’re not. Undrinkably sour — almost salty — completely non-thirst-quenching and a chore to drink. Lobster roll is completely underwhelming. Passable, at best. Fish and chips are excellent. Onion rings are good. Location is amazing — and really the only thing going for it. If it were not for the location — we’d never go back. Right on the beach — go for a stroll after dinner — that’s nice enough for me. * Note: I went here because I saw it on The Phantom Gourmet and when I tried to review it on their website, it never got posted. Tried several times. Makes me wonder how much the Phantom is being paid to promote certain businesses??? Hmmm… *

Lobster rolls: Best in the area Fried seafood: Awesome mostly, overcooked 10% of the time Kids menu and other basics like hot dogs: good The rest: Don’t bother. I feel like the cooks, which all look to be high school and college kids, don’t know how to cook a hamburger, make consistent fries or any other basic Americana foods. Stick to the seafood.

I was hoping for a bit more when we came here. It was good, but not as good as I wanted it to be. The fried clams were a little dirtier and grittier than I wanted them to be, and a little less clean than anticipated… I’d definitely skip them if I could have done it again and gone just with the clam strips, or something different. The fries were really tasty, as was my coleslaw, though the portion on the cole slaw was a little stingy considering that my fried clam plate was over $ 18 with tax. The view sitting on the deck was fantastic. They have non-seafood and non-fried food options, but Dorian was less than wowed with her ceasar wrap. If you go here, definitely opt to get a lime rickey if you dig them; Dorian was all about hers. Update: stay away from the clams. I felt really gross the evening after eating them, and they are the main suspect when it comes to my stomach pain.

Talk about your glorified beach snack hut! Lime Rickey’s offers ocean-front(literally, you are ON the beach) casual dining with unbeatable prices. Everything from salads to wraps, fried seafood to ice cream — they pretty much have everything you could want at the beach. Their menu is @ . I had a grilled cheese & tomato sandwich($ 2.50), clam chowder($ 3.75) and shared onion rings($ 3.95 for more than any person could ever eat). Everything else my friends had looked great! If it had been warmer out that night(they’re open till 10:30) I’d have sat on their ocean-facing patio, but we opted to sit in the small, no-frills«dining room». It feels like a screened-in porch, but the did have a flat-screen showing the Sox game. Overall, an awesome summer’s day(or night) stop. Next time, I will have to actually try one of their Lime Rickeys…
