Roses and Thistle

I also agree about their attitude towards our fighting troops and being so lame as to insist upon a 40 dollar delivery charge. Had I known this, I would have gladly delivered the roses myself. Anyway, the reason I give only 1 star is their product doesn’t last. I bought a grouping
of orchids which looked great. They only lasted last then a month and withered away with the buds dropping off, They charged me an additional 30 dollars to replace the original order saying we overwatered the orchids. Okay, paid the $$ and returned after another 3 weeks. Replaced those and now looking to replace those with orchids from Home Depot costing only 19.00. NOT RETURNING!

My husband has been sending me flowers from Roses and Thistle during his deployment to Afghanistan, they even made my wedding bouquet. However, this past Saturday my husband phoned them from Afghanistan to request they deliver 2 roses, one each to our twins turning 6. He informed them of the circumstance and where he was calling from. The owner informed him there was a $ 40 min for delivery.(they are a half a block away) My husband was very upset as was I. The owner made no attempt to even offer an alternate suggestion. I then called today and spoke to the owner, no apology was forthcoming. I will never use this business again. Anyone who cannot find it in their business practices to make exceptions, especially for a US soldier does not deserve anyones business.

I have been a floral designer for the past 8 years. Currently I work as a merchandising designer for one of the top online floral retailers in the country. Part of my job is to research/​visit floral shops in the different cities I travel to (for inspiration and trend shopping). Roses and Thistle is hands down one of the most beautiful and unique shops I have ever been in. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. Their arrangements and gardens are like little works of art. My mother lives on the North Shore of Boston and I relish any opportunity to send an arrangement from Roses and Thistle.

I used to use this flower shop all the time, because the flower arrangements are nice (if you told them what you wanted, if you let them do what they wanted without giving any direction, they were hideous). But I will never return there after reading this story about her lack of support to the troops. How can someone be so money hungry that they deny a soldiers wish to have flowers delivered to his children? After reading this story, I am telling EVERYONE i know, not to use this flower shop.
