they dont check the rental trailers properly. I once rented one from there and they said my trailer plug harness was faulty because the trailer lights are not working. I knew it couldnt be, it worked just fine before with other trailers but they wouldnt let me leave with the rental trailer until they rewired it. so I had to let them do it. I needed that trailer ASAP. well as it turns out, the trailers light bulbs didnt work. I had noticed that night while walking around the trailer with the lights on the car, that the trailers lights were out. I now had a hack job wire repair to fix myself all because they blamed my car as being the issue rather than checking out the trailer.

I’m moving some furniture from Margate to Miami. It’s being a nightmare to deal with UHaul. They keep sending me from one to another location, giving me wrong trucks etc. Mistakes that shouldn’t be happening. Moving is already a lot of work, now they don’t stop calling asking me to repair their mistake. Not acceptable.

Contacted this U-​Haul center for the installation of a hitch receiver for a bike rack. No wiring, just a simple hitch with a standard 1 ¼ inch receiver. The price I was quoted was north of $ 400 including shipping for the hitch, which they had to «special order». I felt that the price was high, but I accepted it, since I didn’t want to take the time to do it myself. The installation was done on the scheduled day. I picked my car up, and everything seemed fine. However… when I got home and wanted to put my bike rack on, the receiver they installed was a 2″ receiver, not the 1 ¼ inch one I specified. I had to scramble and find a reducer with very short notice, for an additional cost of $ 75. Now, my hitch cost exceeded $ 500. I called the U-​Haul twice to complain about the mistake and ask for a refund of the $ 75, and was told the manager would call me back. He never did. The amount of money spent is a sunk cost, and won’t kill me. It’s the principle… just not a very well run business in my opinion.

Great experience! Showed up an hour early and while our vehicle wasn’t ready for our scheduled appointment they managed to put us in a smaller vehicle with a lower mileage charge.
Returning the vehicle was textbook, everyone was friendly as well as helpful.

This is the worst U-​Haul ever. Don, the manager is one of the nastiest people I have ever met. Rented a 26 ft truck and went to leave to drive across country and the check engine light came on. We went in and Don told us that it wasn’t his responsibility. We were on the contract and it was our issue. Screamed at us «What do you want me to do».
Do not spend 1 dime in this establishment. He is scum.
