Copper Cactus Grill

Located in the Harrah’s Ak-​Chin Hotel & Casino, the Copper Cactus Grill seemed like a Godsend after the long drive to Maricopa in the middle of the dessert. Keyword: seemed.
The menu was pretty standard-​burgers, corn dogs, chicken tenders and so forth. The wait time for our food was unacceptable. There weren’t that many people ahead of us waiting for their food but some of the customers that ordered after us got their food before us. They had a condiment counter which was obviously neglected by their employees because the counter was sticky and covered in ketchup and God only knows what else.
There are a few tables to sit at right in front of the register but they are placed so close together that I got the gist of our table neighbor’s life story in just that one sitting. The food was beyond greasy and if it did have any flavor, it was masked in the grease. My simple warning is: don’t waste your precious time on their mediocre carnival-​like, overpriced food.

This place is open 24 hours a day which makes it very convenient if you need an off-​hours meal or snack while staying at or just visiting Harrah’s Ak-​Chin (the restaurant is located in the casino). You order at the counter and they call out your number when your food is ready. I’ve had the turkey burger and the chicken ranch wrap and both were very good. I appreciate that this place exists as a dining option when nothing else is open late at night.

Nice little place. Service is normally good, but can be somewhat slow. Try the BLT, great price and not on the menu! Use your rewards card to capture the food credits and enjoy the great food here!
