Enigma Lounge

It is Saturday night and there are no cars an no signs. Pretty sure this place is closed as F***.

I was there last night for a multi-​group Meetup event. For $ 5 we were promised an all you can eat buffet until 8 pm and drink specials. First, this place is hard to find as their signage is really bad. If I hadn’t know it was above the Mellow Mushroom, I never would have found the place.
The venue itself is large, but it is drab, totally uninspiring, and kind of depressing. And, odd, there is an empty pool at the entrance? The ‘all you can eat’ food was a joke. They knew that they were having a lot of people attending for a month now and were not prepared in the least. The ‘hot’ food was sitting in a pan of tepid water, not a sterno can in site, and while I was there they only had a portion of the types of food out that was promised, and not very much of that at all for the amount of people there. At some point we watched them come back with bags of pre washed lettuce they had to go buy at the supermarket (great prep work for this event that was on their books for weeks!) and then then never even put it out for the 45 additional minutes we stayed there. My friend tried ordering wine at the bar (only one bartender) and the bartender wasn’t familiar with: pinot grigio, sauvignon blanc, or any other white my friend named. She finally just had to settle for a ‘white’ wine, which was horribly sweet. My other friend took advantage of the $ 5 mixed drink special — her vodka/​cran came in a cup about the size of the dixie cups with jokes that my mom used to buy us as kids for when we brushed our teeth.
I am under the impression that the venue was trying to attract a different, more professional, urbane crowd than they usually get, but when you are holding an ‘all you can eat’ right event after work, you can rest assured people are going to come hungry and you better be prepared. Also, a bartender that doesn’t know generic wine types? Thank God there was a Mellow Mushroom downstairs, because guess where we wound up going…

I’m from NY on vacation and stopped in here on a whim. We had a great time. The music is great, the staff went above and beyond for us. They were on point and never let our glasses get empty. The manager, staff & owner were very friendly. I will definetly come back here whenever I’m back in Atlanta.
