Keep in mind that this is a hole-in-the-wall kind of place. Located directly outside of the Life University gates, the crowd consists of students and professors. To my knowledge, there is no Joel, only Dave, who is awesome. I’ve ventured here with my boyfriend, who goes to Life, and Dave makes it a point to call me by name. He introduced me to Abita Turbodog and when I feel in love, even gave me an Abita pint glass FOFREE. For a small bar, the beer options are great. Abita, New Belgium Brewery, and Sweet Water on tap, with other bottled options. I made the mistake of asking for red wine one night and that didn’t go so well, so I would suggest sticking to beer. Joel’s offers some pretty average bar food with chicken fingers, nachos, quesadillas, and salads. The cheese sticks are legit. This is a three star establishment with five star service.

Pretty cool bar, especially since it is on the way home from class. The owner is very laid back and quiet, but still keeps your glass full.

Basically the hangout spot for students from Life University, hence the sign that says«Annex D» above the front entrance. It probably is pretty cheap(although I’ve never bought food or drinks here), but other than that… I don’t see anything special about it.

Just recently been having snacks at Joel’s. I didn’t know barfood this good existed. Everything I’ve had there so far has been very tasty. And the prices for the food… uh, $ 2 for a basket of fried zucchini that can easily feed 2, six HUGE chicken fingers with a ton of fries $ 4, I mean, aren’t they losing money? Joel’s continues to be my favorite spot.
