The location and décor of this restaurant just screams southern charm. That is one of the first things that hits you as you walk in. With such a mood, I ordered biscuits and gravy, which was of a great consistency and flavor. We visited at a sort of awkward time between breakfast and lunch, so my party ordered a variety of things, all of which were quick and inexpensive. My mother ordered a chicken salad sandwich that she extolled as being full of flavor. A friend described his breakfast sandwich as scrumptious. Overall, my picky group approved.

This little hole in the wall place is good. The menu is breakfast on one side and lunch on the other. I have a burger with onion rings. The burger was good but I really enjoyed the onion rings. Will definitely return.

I like going here for breakfast; it’s quick and the staff is nice. The biscuits have a smooth top, which is weird because I’m from Alabama and our biscuits are bomb-awesome. This is not bad though. I love the chicken biscuit. I still need to get that sloppy joe burger that Alton Brown talks about…

Sooooo we went for breakfast. Keep in mind at least half of the menu requires biscuits or gravy to make. When we order, they tell us they have no biscuits or gravy. I’m sorry what? We left. Call before you go.

Its very casual and tiny. Old fashioned server yourself atmosphere. I had the chicken and Waffles which was ok. My only complaint is the gross tap water they have.

Best burger in Atlanta, says Alton Brown of the food network. I won’t disagree. Got the big daddy burger today with a fried egg on it. Did not disappoint. It’s small. It’s crowded. Order something simple and try to find a seat. It is worth it.

The sloppy joe burger is amazing!!! I absolutely love the feel of this place. The staff is extremely welcoming. We visited for lunch and we will definitely be back… I also highly recommend their onion rings! You need to visit.

My husband and I heard about this place but we were a little discouraged to go because we also heard that it can get pretty crowded for being such a small place. Well, it took having horrible food and service at another local place to walk out and make our way to REM. Believe me when I say that it made up for the previous place. We got to REM about 10:45am on a Sunday and found a table. The staff was great with friendly service and they even gave menu recommendations. My husband got the chicken and waffles(served on Sunday) and I got the breakfast plate. The bacon, grits and mule chips are to die for. We have been back since and will be back again soon. We will definitely be regulars. It is a small place and seems like it got pretty busy around 11am both times we visited. Might be best to go a little earlier if having breakfast. It’s a must try spot!

In town from Charlotte for volleyball tournament. The team went to Panera. I wanted to do better. Sought out the Red Eyed Mule. My daughter and I arrived and my first thought was«it’s too small, we’ll never get a seat». I was wrong. It is small but it’s quite cozy and comfortable. I had the Jake’s Big Daddy and 24 hours later(writing this review) I can’t stop thinking about it. It was just everything a guy(or gal) would want in the perfect burger. I think I’d be honest to say I’d drive a couple of hours out of my way to eat there again. Fries and drink are standard fare. Service was good. I was a bit confused when I entered. They have an «Order Here» sign but when we went inside they had someone writing the order on a ticket. I didn’t know what I wanted since I had just walked in the door so the order taker went to the couple behind me and took their order. I was like«what the…», but then realized that we kept our place in line. They took my AmexEx card and had a modern billing system. You sign your name with your finger and add a tip all at once if you want. I look forward to visiting again; and trying other menu items. I don’t come this way very often but I have that Jake’s Big Daddy forever burned into my mind, like a high school crush. It was amazing.

Try the biscuits. I mean try *all* of the biscuits. Just like my hypothetical children, I can’t choose a favorite* *(it’s the fried chicken biscuit.)

Been waiting a long time to try it out. Glad we stopped in and gave it a shot. The food is great… Price is good… Seating and hours are tight but totally worth a stop.

During our visit we noticed the giant tub of drinking water is refilled using sink water in a filthy-looking pitcher. Additionally, our entire family had severe diarrhea within an hour of leaving. The food itself was mediocre at best, with the hashbrowns being the only standout item worth mentioning. Everything else was generic and bland, the biscuits tasted like cornbread, and the sodas were flat. I’m astounded by the high reviews.

Finally got to try this hidden gem in Marietta. When you pull up it doesn’t look like much, a little building hidden between other lunch spots. However once you walk in you see local patrons, friendly faces and southern breakfast cuisine. I tried the Chicken sausage biscuit with cheese, tomato and egg. It was just what I wanted for breakfast. Filling and delicious. Also tried the Sassy seniorita a burger– burger, jalapeños, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, sloppy jimmy -,(chorizo sloppy joe) and homemade close slaw(on the side at my request). This wasn’t bad at all. I can see why folks like this sandwich. Their grits are great too, don’t forget to try one with a sandwich. Make sure you wash it down with root beer or glass bottle coke. Overall I like all the breakfast/lunch options. Prices are reasonable too. Just wish they were open later. They close by 2 pm most days.

One of my favorite places in Kennesaw. From the gal that takes your order(super sweet), to the cooks, to the people that eat there. I love this place… you really can’t go wrong with any breakfast there. It’s hot, tasty and there is plenty of it!

Decent spot to have a burger with an egg on it! Hahaha. Dinning Experience: Small & extremely cramped, but no one seemed to care but me, I change my order from dine in to a to go order. Service: fast, but rushed… You gotta be prepared if your going during lunch. Food: Good, my burger wasn’t cooked all the way, and I’m not a big fan of raw meat, glad I didnt see blood but this sandwich had a great taste to it, egg and all! Price: Reasonable

This is a slap yo mama kinda experience(I think I used this term right due to me being a yankee) :-) I had to try REM due to its fantastic Unilocal reviews. As always, the Unilocalers have it right! This place rocks! Now, here’s the sitch, it’s small guys. If you go during peak hours don’t expect to grab a table right off the bat. They have about 10 – 12 tables throughout. They also offer seating at the counter. Grab what you can! I went in on a Friday at 11:45 and was able to grab a 2 top. You have to order at the counter upon arrival. They then bring the food out to you. I chose the bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit with a side of mule chips. It came out in about 5 minutes. The sandwich was quite large. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the biscuit was the bomb! The Mule Chips were seasoned perfectly! Loved that the lady at the counter recommended them! The service is what get’s this place a 5 star in my book! SUPERFRIENDLY!!! Staff bends over backwards to make sure you are well taken care of!

I can’t believe that I hadn’t completed my review of this location. WTF! Everything that we have had here is good. Richard and Jamarcus should have warned me NOT to try the biscuits. So let me be your Unilocaling friend and warn you… If you like a good grandmama biscuit don’t get these. They will have you stopping here every time you are within 20 miles of the joint. But I made the mistake of trying a chicken, egg and biscuit and now I’m in LOVE. These biscuits be calling my name Jamarcus T and Richard R. Calling my damn name I tell you!

Found this place online and thought lets go! Cute atmosphere and great service! I had the Farmers BLT and it was UH-MAZING!!! Those with me had Jimmy’s Sloppy Slaw Burger and they loved it! If you looking for something authentic– this is the place. The owners happen to be here while we were eating and they were so sweet asking how we liked our meal!!! What a wonderful place! You have to try this place if you are in the Atlanta area!

This tiny spot is great for a post-morning-hike breakfast. They take your order at the bar area and you seat yourself while you wait for your meal. On my last visit I had the cheddar & bacon biscuit with sausage, fried egg, and cheese to make for a delicious breakfast sandwich. All components are great, but the biscuit is super light & fluffy and doesn’t make for a great sandwich-holder…it was like my sandwich was disintegrating in my hands the very first time I picked it up. The grits that come as a side item are really nothing to write home about. First visit, totally bland. Second visit, over-seasoned. Didn’t have more than a few bites of the side both times. Parking, finding a table, and other crowd-related items can be hit or miss. The first time we visited it was completed packed full. The second time– a Sunday around 11:30am, it was half-empty and the experience was a bit more pleasant. I think it’s worth noting that I wonder if this is one of those spots that everyone feels pressured to give a higher rating to because of how other folks rated it, or that it’s been on Food Network, etc. While it’s definitely a place that has good food, and good service, I don’t think it’s a must-stop when in the area, and I think there are quite a few places I’d go to instead if given the chance to decide for the group. But it’s still good, and I’d definitely go back again. It’s a great stop for some grub, but not the best food(or biscuits) I’ve ever had. Worth a try, though!

9÷13÷2015 — Update — Still Love This Small Country Place! Came on a beautiful Sunday morning around 9:15 and there were only 4 other people inside. I got one of the Specials– Bacon and cheddar biscuit with an egg, applewood bacon and grits. Everything was delicious. 6÷18÷2015 Oh My Gosh-I love this place ! Took a few family and friends here for breakfast and everything was delicious. The biscuits are as big as a Cat’s Head and are heavenly. On a whim, I ordered one of the specials — Corned Beef Hash and was so glad I did– Yum! Can’t wait to go back and try their Chicken ‘n Waffles.
