Whiskey Red’s

After looking up the best deals for brunch, this was the best find for a beautiful day in Marina del Rey! I called the day before to reserve a table on the main patio with a waterfront view. They honored my request when I arrived for Sunday brunch which I was very grateful for.

(which I kind of read about before going but still went in with an open mind).
*My guests and I were seated for 30+ mins and not one server greeted our table or started us off with champagne (it was a buffet so it was literally the only thing we needed our sever for… Drinks).
After patiently waiting at the table for 10 – 15 mins, I got up and asked the hostess if we had a server for drinks and she told me he was probably busy. Then I went and grabbed my food and sat back down and my friends were still sitting there without drinks.
I looked around and saw large groups getting refills and servers literally roaming around and asking every table but ours if they wanted more. I finally went to the bus station and asked for a service and they were very kind and apologetic.
Turns out they didn’t know what happened to whoever was assigned my table. As a retired hostess in the restaurant industry, I understand that people get busy. A hostess should never be too busy to communicate with a sever to make sure all tables are assigned to a server or to double check that the server assigned to that table /​section is aware the table is seated. I felt like I was brushed off when I initially brought up my concern. (Which was clearly valid since no one knew we existed for a while).
All in all, Collin took over and was an amazing server and was very apologetic. He kept our glasses full and smiles on our faces the whole time! Definitely coming back!

SUBPAR! I thought I would give this place one more try. I went with a group for brunch and once again I was very disappointed. I hate to see such an incredible place with so much potential serve crappy food.
If you go here for brunch as long as you stick with the omelette you’ll be OK. The crab legs were very dry and sometimes almost like jerky. No joke jerky! The cocktail sauce was like jelly. Never seen anything like it. How can you mess up waffles, they did! The waffles were limp and spongy.
I noticed other customers not finishing their food as well. I hope this place gets it together quick before they go out of business. It’s a shame to let such an amazing location go to waste.
