One of my favorite places to eat. I haven’t had a bad experience or food here. Piano player always good. Can be a little chilly inside some times.

Love the Wednesday crab leg special. The rest of the menu is pretty good also. The only thing is they can get a bit pricey.

Food was great. Atmosphere is a 20’s theme, upscale steakhouse. The service was great. We were very pleased until the bill came and we saw that we were charged $.75 for olives in our Martin. My husband and I are Martin drinkers and have never been charged for a garnish in our drink. We would not have minded if the olives had been something special, but these were tiny little salad olives. At 2 per drink, this added the cost of $ 4.00 for what should be considered part of the cocktail. The manager looked like a bobble head doll when I was explaining that we were surprised to see this charge. He basically told me to complain if I felt the need, but didn’t even offer to reduce the price of one olive. I wouldn’t go back there because of the managers attitude. There are other steak houses that would appreciate our business.

Visited Summer 2015. Maybe the best steak I’ve had. Excellent seared crust, cooked perfectly. It looks like many of the negative reviews on here focus on seafood — stick to the steak. Sides were good also, service was attentive.

I ordered the catch of the day, one of the more costly items on the menu and was truly disappointed. I saw the burgers, sandwiches and pasta portion sizes to be very fair. My plate came with less than a toddler ‘s palm size of fish, 4 asparagus and 2 TEAspoons of rice. I say this with no exaggeration nor remorse and I wish I took a picture. What are you doing? rationing off portions? Besides the terrible and incorrect portion sizes the flavors were nonexistent. It took me 20 mins to accept my fate & eat my sample. The folks with burgers and sandwiches were happy. Seafood folk were not happy. Also no one could taste any of the Cajun spices. «You tried it».

I drove six hours and wanted a relaxing place for a steak. This was it. The Strip steak was cooked perfectly. The green beans were freshly grilled. The server asked me if I wanted fresh pepper on my crisp house salad. I was quite happy with the place. Will come back again.

These guys might not be five stars compared to, say, the tasting menu at Spago, but they are absolutely five stars by any other standard. Service– unflinchingly formal and polite. Our server was a young guy who was still learning how to feel natural interacting with customers but who was obviously impeccably trained and well on his way to being comfortable with the job. He worked the script and pacing perfectly and he’ll hit his groove of looking natural at it soon. Food– amazeballs. Between the two of us, we had the blue cheese covered sirloin with baked sweet potato and Caesar salad, and crab legs with garlic mash and lobster bisque. Everything was super fresh and cooked perfectly. The hubby pronounced the crab legs some of the best he had ever had; they were cooked so correctly that he barely touched the drawn butter for them. Dessert looked really good but there was no room. Drinks– These were not the strongest we have ever had but they were very well crafted(as it should be). And we were totally boggled when we got the check and saw that both the Long Island iced tea and one of the drinks from the specialty menu were under $ 6 each. Ambiance– It was definitely«nice steakhouse» feel inside– nicer than your average Chili’s, but not stuffy. They had a guy playing piano in the next room, which was a nice touch. Absolutely not what we expected on an unscheduled stop in semi-rural Illinois, but good enough that we wouldn’t hesitate to plan to stopover here on roadtrips through the area.

I love this place! The atmosphere is great with the live piano playing and the old timer pictures on the wall. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! Definitely want to come back here Wednesday for all you can eat crab legs! And they also have a full bar which is also a plus!:)

If you enjoy soggy Caesar salads with a breaded piece of salmon you’ve found a great place! I’ve never had breaded salmon in my life. They said it was blackened/cajon style but that was a first for me. I had one bite, paid my bill, and left.

Great atmosphere and food. The server was very knowledgable and attentive. They also had a piano player that played very well. All in all great experience. Looking forward to my next visit.

My boyfriend and I had a great time at this steakhouse. The restaurant is really quiet and romantic and there was a pianist playing live music. We ordered two of the alcoholic lemonades that had lemonade, Jack Daniels, simple syrup and triple sec. They were really good! We also ordered the«Spuds» potato skins as an appetizer. They were delicious and crispy! They give you a mini-loaf of bread with honey spread. Yum! For entrees, I ordered the Cajun chicken alfredo and he ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. I absolutely loved my pasta and he liked his sandwich. Try 20’s Hideout Steakhouse out!

The steak was quite good. The seafood — I had grilled shrimp, my wife had lobster — was so-so. Bear in mind: it is very difficult to find good seafood in the Midwest and impossible to find fresh seafood in the Midwest. Our server was good, but the team of hosts/hostesses was pretty apathetic toward us when we walked in. It was strange to enter a restaurant and not receive a greeting… or eye contact. The Hideout has good theming and décor, with enjoyable Frank Sinatra background music and occasional live piano music.

Loved the décor, dimmed lighting and piano player. Food was great and so was the service. Caleb was our server and he was very attentive. We had a group of 7 and everything was really good. Only exception was mom’s chopped steak was too rare, but they made her a new one. I would definitely recommend this place!

Had a wonderful filet mignon dinner. The service was great. Loved our waiter. However, I was pretty shocked when I heard the bartender and some redneck customers call black people«niggers». I walked up to their table and gave them an earful. Don’t want to drop $ 100 on dinner when this type of conversation is going on around me.

Decided to eat my way thru Marion/Carbondale while on a work trip. Lol. Found this place online. Atmosphere was cool because of the 20s theme. Came on all you can eat snow crab night which was about 20 bucks. You can tell it’s a spot for regulars as the staff knew most of the customers. I ordered the crab cakes with broccoli and wild rice. The rice was meh. The crab cakes were ok. A bit too much mayo in them for my taste. Not at all«lump» crab cakes as the description reads. The bread and butter they bring to the table was wonderful had a sweet taste to it. Prices are as expected for a «steakhouse». Portions were a good size. Wine list by the glass was limited. The crowd definitely older. Not a bad spot.

When going out to dinner on a business trip — why not go to a 20s era themed steakhouse? I enjoy coming here because its always cozy and dimly lit inside and the live entertainment always hits the spot with me. The piano man always entertains with cover songs of classic rock to current day hits. The appetizers we ordered ranged from chips and spinach dip to fried jumbo shrimp and fried clams. The food always comes out hot and tastey. For dinner, most of the guests at the table selected a steak of some variety while I opted for the Salmon Godfather: Cajun spiced Wild Alaskan Salmon on top of chopped romaine hearts tossed in our signature creamy Ceasar dressing. Topped with fresh shaved parmesan and seasoned parmesan garlic croutons. I wish I could have taken a photo of my meal, but since I was on a business trip, I figured the rest of the group wouldn’t understand what its like to be a hardcore Unilocaler. The salmon was in tiny pieces — similar in size and shape to the little chicken pieces you find at a china buffet. The cajun seasoning was nice but I was hoping for a nice hunk of fresh looking salmon to be placed atop a bed of delicious greens. The salad certainly was a nice portion size(especially for the price) but the salmon itself left something to be desired. The meal tasted very good but the aesthetics are my main issue… and I’m picky so please don’t let this review completely turn you away! They have a GINORMOUS wine and cocktail menu but the beer selection left a little to be desired. Two people in the group ordered Schlafly on tap but after 10 – 15 minutes the waiter finally returned to say the kegs were frozen. How terrible. I’m a beer lover and beer snob so when I hear that a restaurant fails to properly care for the beer, it breaks my heart. The waiter was having one heck of a night. confusing drink orders and taking a very very long time before returning with anyone’s drinks. Despite this, he was very friendly and in good spirits. I think the restaurant was having a crab leg special that night(it was a Wednesday) so the place was packed.

It’s a touch too pricy for me. Just foe portions sizes and such. It was my one and only visit there, and the server was all over the place. I will say the burger was amazing.
