Bares is an interesting place run by an Argentine. The food varies from very good to ok, as does the service and mood of the wait staff. The bathrooms are very very small and the décor is so so. Also, the amount of Argentine based menu items has declined over the years.

Great food. Very reasonable pricing too. A nice small restaurant downtown Marion. The chef is personable and the wait staff is great. Never had a bad experience.

Great fresh food, neighborly atmosphere. Someone is always laughing or shaking hands and saying hello. Super friendly owner. Large servings of food too! Like Adam said, dinner is Friday nights only but it’s worth the wait!

I stopped in for lunch while in Marion on business. The Italian sandwich was very good and I really liked the homemade chips. The restaurant is right downtown and had a small sidewalk café as well. It was busy at lunchtime.

A small diner that you would barely notice if you weren’t really looking for it. The atmosphere is on the homey side, very friendly and fun. The food is delicious, with a decent variety, almost all of it hand-made. Prices are 1.50−8 for an appetizer and 10 – 17 for an entrée. They have limited hours, so plan ahead. Monday-Friday for lunch, and Friday evenings for dinner. That’s it. But if you are in the area it is worth the trip.
