Lol. Reading the reviews made me laugh. If there were negative stars these owners would deserve it. If you want to support people that like to destroy the local economy(that is already struggling) by throwing local employees out like the trash just because they think they are easily replaced then eat here. If you want ghetto food that is outrageously overpriced to support successful bankers and accounting firm owners, then eat here. If you want a good meal at a restaurant that respects its employees and strives to make Mariposa a cool little town then eat at Savory’s, Charles street, or 1850. Breakfast at Sugar Pine is a must! Also, if your traveling up canyon towards Yosemite, the same shitty owners own«canyon bar and grill» at cedar lodge and«the river restaurant and lounge» at Yosemite view motel, there are no options up there so they get their business by default. I would suggest going to el portal market for a variety of food and drink as well as good organic treats that are ready made or that you can cook in you room. Peace!

Do not eat here! Avoid at all costs! Staff and other guests are straight racist! Very condescending. Seemed as though they did not want to serve us. Food took 45 minutes! Was garbage, and service was the worst of my life. I know we were being ignored because it was a slow night. Costumers made many remarks on their way out and staff had a terrible attitude! Only reason I didn’t walk up and leave was because we were a large group, tired, and didn’t want to disrespect my party.

Great food, a nice variety. Burgers, fish n chips, salads, and steaks. I got the 10oz Ribeye, it was delicious, cooked right, juicy and tender. The fries were crispy and seasoned well. The atmosphere is nice and ranch-like with woodwork, and a great homey feeling. The staff are friendly and willing to make your experience enjoyable. They also have free WiFi. The only con is the price is a bit high, but probably about average for a restaurant like this in a small tourist town. Overall a great steak and a nice dining experience.

This place is definitely very small and it said that it’s a local’s place only I was just here for a comedy show to see my friend do some standup and they actually have a really cool DJ and a cool open mic open forum area if you’re in the area stop by

Best trivia in town. The host is phenomenal. If you’re in town on a Thursday night be sure to come by! My only complaint is that it starts a bit early at 6pm — I wish it started at 7!

Ok so we were coming back from Yosemite and we were starving we had not had any food since 9am before getting to Yosemite. So we decide to try this place, we walk in and get seated only to realize all the customers were older white people who appearently did not like the fact 3 hispanics came to eat there. Our waiter comes to our table after about passing our table 2 times and after 10min. We got up and left!!!

Came to the bar a little after 3pm on a Friday. Had a few well priced drinks and a delicious chicken quesadilla. The bartender Cori was fast and friendly. I enjoyed sitting in the patio watching the hills and cars drive by. Good service, good food, good drinks, all reasonably priced.

NOTHANKS!!! walking into this place is like walking into circa 1970’s place that caters to seniors, they were severely understaffed and over worked. I gave up and stared on the buffet and the food was no better then the food at home town buffet. I was starving and this was the only place serving breakfast, should have waited until i got to fresno… I am still having nightmares about this place

After a long day hiking and driving we stopped in to try this place out. We visited during the off season in November, but I don’t find that any reason to have only one server on the entire floor of a good sized place. We waited for the one server to see us then were finally ‘greeted’ by being handed menus and told to seat ourselves. I got tomato basil soup or what was supposed to be. It was canned tomato sauce. Absolutely abhorrent. Then I ordered spinach and ricotta ravioli. It was drowned in so much pasta sauce, and cheese that I had to pool at least two cups to the side. I almost asked for a side bowl to put it all in. My boyfriend was ordering and kept getting interrupted by what the waitress was guessing he wanted. He ordered his burger medium and got well done. No trace of pink at all. The waitress tossed out napkins on the table when she brought our food and slapped down the check at the same time. So very overpriced and I left quote frankly in a bad mood. I’ve been a server and worked customer service since I was 14 and everything was terrible. Completely wasted money on a vacation. Also, if you’re under 70 I wouldn’t go in here. Unless you like seeing empty display cases and gum ball machines with a little depression mixed in. Oh and don’t forget for 70’s soft rock music.

Avoid at all costs!!! Against our better judgment, we decided to dine here only because we were too tired to hop into our car and drive the 2 minutes to town. Bad bad bad choice. We ordered their«local favorite» chicken fried steak, salmon and kid’s spaghetti with cheese toast. Where do I begin? Chick fried steak was soggy, gravy was loaded with pepper, salmon was over cooked and they wanted to charge us extra for cheese toast. Per the menu, spaghetti with cheese toast is $ 4.50 and our waitress argued that cheese toast is extra. What? Then why was it included on the menu under the price of $ 4.50? After 10 minutes of going and back forth, our waitress came back from the kitchen and said she’ll remove the extra charge as a favor. WHAT? It’s not a favor, it’s what is printed on your menu! Avoid!

Waited for a while for my liver and onions dish. But once I got it I lost my mind because it was panties dropping good.

Short version: food was terrible. Party of 4, wings were average, burger was average, ribs and chicken Mediterranean were dry as dust. They had only 1 waitress serving about 15 tables, she did her best, which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1. Would not eat here again.

IT is Tucked away behind the miners inn but should not be overlooked! We had a fantastic dinner!!! Beer from the draft, great, I had a taco salad, a wonderful taco shell stuffed with chicken, tomatoes, red onion, avocado and so much more, a really healthy salad. My husband had the ribs which were perfectly grilled and not overcooked. Our compliments. When in Mariposa you should not overlook this great restaurant!

I would give this no stars if I could. This was truly one of the worst places I have ever eaten. I ordered the Ribeye steak and my husband ordered the Fish and Chips. For starters, my salad was tired and wilted. When my food arrived, my potato wasn’t even warm enough to melt the butter. I took one bite of my $ 18.95 rib-eye and got a large blob of fat. I scraped the onions off the top and it had a huge, apx 1″ fat globule in the middle of it, with large veins running out from it. When I complained to the waitress, she said she told the chef, and the chef told her that rib-eye’s always have fat. Now, mind you, this is not the first time I’ve had a rib-eye steak, it is one of my favorite cuts, the marbling is what makes it so delicious, but this one was beyond edible and I wonder if the guy really is a ‘chef’ at all. Our waitress was embarrassed and very apologetic — this was not her fault. She offered me a free dessert but it was too late, I was not prepared to eat anything else in this place. My husband, as I mentioned, ordered the Fish and Chips. It had all kinds of black, silver stuff in it and at $ 13.95, his meal was almost inedible, too. His french fries were barely warm and his clam chowder did not have one single clam. To make matters worse, he was up at 3 am, sick as a dog, and I’m pretty sure it was food poisoning. I kid you not, stay away from this place. It is forever etched in my memory for all the wrong reasons. It was also my birthday and this grossness ended up being a very disgusting birthday meal — if you can even call it a meal. If you see this restaurant during your travels — save your wallet and your stomach and RUNFORTHEHILLS!

After living in Mariposa for 2 years and experiencing this restaurant both when old management on two occasions and now with the new management, will never eat at this establishment again. I am very sorry, and feel that everyone deserves a second chance, but WOW, three times a DUD! There were two in our party, when we entered, the hostess was on the phone, not very busy at all, it was EASTERSUNDAY around 2:20pm and the place was almost empty. One of the waitresses greeted us and seated us SARAH, what a delightful young lady. She did give us fairly prompt service, and was very cordial. We ordered a BBQ Sandwich and Chicken Fried Steak with mashed and veggies. When received the order, The BBQ Sandwich tasted burnt, was on this big Hoggie type bread, so you couldn’t pick it up and eat it, he had to cut it in portions… The after taste of burnt meat was in his mouth the rest of the day, even after we got home and he brushed his teeth. The Chicken Fried Steak sat in a pool of grease, the gravy looked like yesterday or the morning breakfast gravy and the cut of cutlet was tough and breading was greasy soggy, the mashed potatoes were like a brick with the same gravy on them, and the broccoli was over cooked, maybe from the Easter Brunch they had served and had been sitting in a hot steam table all day. MAYBEYOUNEED A NEWCOOK. We thought that the place was gonna be better under the new management, but we were very disappointed for the 3rd time and will not be back nor will we recommend it to anyone. The remodel dollars all went into the LOUNGE, it is beautiful. KUDO’S to Sarah our waitress…

The Sunday buffet brunch was just amazing… excellent, huge selection(promise you’ll find something you like) which included typical breakfast foods but also soup and salad bar(great ranch dressing, healthy, fresh, not just iceberg lettuce). Loved the soup blck bean and chicken and beef cutlets… hash browns and garlic mashed potatoes ! Desserts look great too though I will likely be too stuffed to try.(wrong– got the blueberry cobbler and brownie, eyed the bread pudding. Thought it was okay since I got another spinach and broccoli salad) Wonderful value… Would cost twice as much in LA. Really liked the big comfortable booths, and more relaxed atmosphere. Great find!

Good service, has a small town, trucker stop feel. Breakfast meals are around $ 8 – 9(seniors get a discount!). We were too early for the 9am buffet so he had the country breakfast(eggs, hash town, bacon, and biscuits w gravy) and I had the 49er breakfast(bacon, huge sausage links, eggs and short stack of pancakes). It was super filling without finishing and will prob hold us over until dinner time
