Men’s Wearhouse and Tux

There needs to be some improvement at this store when it comes to customer appreciation.
I came in to pick up my tailored suit and wanted to try it on. The employee said there were no rooms available and rushed me out of the store. Upon further looking there were many open changing rooms available.
Also, the fact they will give you a tux one week before an event, but require it back the NEXT day or you owe $ 20 per day is just wrong.
Avoid if you can…

My fiancé and I came in 20 minutes before closing on a Wednesday night to look for his attite as well as his groomsmen attire for our wedding. Immediately I could tell that the staff was annoyed we were coming in near closing and when I told them we wouldn’t be renting suits they looked even more annoyed. My fiancé picked out a vest, pants, and shirt to try and while he was trying them on the manager told me that «we couldn’t just be opening up shirts». I asked him how we were supposed to know if we wanted to buy the shirt if he didn’t try it on and we had only opened one. The manager asked me how I knew it would fit since my fiancé hadn’t been fitted by them and I told him we already knew his size. Another employee put a pile of sale signs on top of the other vests we had picked out. They then proceeded to actively ignore us the rest of the time we were there. When my fiancé came out of the dressing room he loved the outfit and it looked great on him but we decided to leave as the staff obviously wanted us to. I have never been treated so rudely by a staff especially when I was ready to spend about $ 500 and have the groomsmen go there as well. I constantly work with clients after hours and would never treat them in a way that would purposefully make them uncomfortable so I could get home earlier. All and all we left at 8:57 three minutes before closing and they lost the sale.

I was very impressed with this particular location of Mens Wearhouse. The workers here were extremely helpful, professional, and friendly. I actually live closer to another MW location, but I will plan to come back to this one if I need anything in future.

Service level can vary greatly with this chain and is certainly a reflection of leadership. I live down the road (very close) to the Marlborough location and will drive out of my way to go to the Framingham, stand alone location on Rt 9. The Framingham location is usually more busy but has MUCH better and more friendly service. They also typically remember me when I come in, which makes a big difference when you are spending large money on a suit.
Wedding: We did our wedding through them and had great success. Grooms were scattered around the country and Men’s Wearhouse was a good choice so that everyone could coordinate with their nearest location and pick up and drop off at any location.
Price: You can find less expensive mens wear… but the old adage of «you get what you pay for» is true. service included, is worth a bit more. Alterations can add up.

Looked like a pretty good selection for a small store, but the level of service was completely lacking. I went in around 7:00 on 6÷17÷13 looking for a vest, it took about five minutes for one of the employees to break away from their conversation long enough for me to get his attention. Our conversation went as follows:
Salesman: «You got a question?»
Me: «I’m looking for a gray vest, do you have any other vests besides what is here on this rack?»
Salesman: «That’s all we have.»
Me: «Do you know if anyone else around would have vests? Macy’s maybe?»
Salesman: «I wouldn’t know that.» (Then he walked away)
I guess he didn’t have any interest in selling anything, the funny thing is that I probably would have bought one of the vests off of the rack too. I have worked in retail before, he had me in the store, which is half the battle… Oh we’ll, I found what I was looking for elsewhere.

I hope this is the right one as there are 2 in the same mall. I speak of the upstairs store near the Bank of America.
Men’s Wearhouse was great in general, I’m am currently doing review 2 of 3 (or 4) of Mens Wearhouse since I dealt with three different stores.
Marlborough Men’s Wearhouse was great, I went in to get my fitting done about a month before my wedding at my wife’s request. I was going to wait a week longer but she was getting worried so I went in and got fit for her sake. The young man who took my measurements was great. Very polite knowledgeable gave me a real sence that he knew what he was doing and that I was in good hands. A very comforting feeling for someone who’s mind is going 1000 mph wondering what could be going wrong while on the outside staying cool and calm so that my soon to be wife will try to relax. The entire fitting took maybe 10 minuets and that includes shoes, jacket and the whole works with the tape measurer.
The week of my wedding one of my groomsmen back out so I run into this MW and change the name on the GM from the old one to the one who is replacing him, I also pay the $ 20 rush fee that occurs if your not fitted 14 days out from your event date. The same clerk who measured me is working and fixes everything in the computer system so it will be no problem for the new GM to get his fitting. Quick and easy.
A few weeks later I go get the e-​mail saying my tux is in Wednesday before my Saturday wedding. My wife also got a phone call telling her the same information. I go to pick up the tux, not only is mine there but my future brother in law, s future 2 nephews (2 ring bearers) my Dad’s, who got fitted in Maine and had his tux ready for pick up where we were getting married, and my future father in law as well, who came down the next day to pick up his tux.
I try on my tux and the pants are too long. No problem says the clerk, a different one this time, He says come back in about 30 minutes and I’ll have these hemmed up. Great! Also why trying on my tux the other GM’s and the Ring bearers come in and try on their tuxes. Man did the boys look like handsome little devils. They were my 2 mini mees!
My wife and I go to dinner, come back, and my tux is waiting for me. Also I sign the paperwork removing the $ 40.00 hold on my account, since I’m the groom and 5 or in my case more, tuxedos were rented so I get mine for free.
