Comfort Suites

Easy in easy out location. The room we stayed felt brand new and the breakfast options were a little better than your average free breakfast. Highly recommend.

Th Good — traveled with 3 kids who loved the pool and whirlpool. It was clean and quiet. The breakfast was good (or at least what you’d expect from a free hotel breakfast). Here’s what I remember” Small selection of cereals (at least 3 including froot loops and granola), Yoplait yogurt (no greek yogurt), boiled eggs, bread, English muffins, bagels, juices and delicious PURE MICHIGAN water (really, the water was super delicious! But this was true everywhere in the U.P.) The service during breakfast was GREAT!
The Not So Good — Problems with the tv in the room (TV froze — volume would not turn down and TV would not turn off). But after a call to Brian Jensen on Friday, I got a call first thing on Monday where he apologized for the inconvenience. Much appreciated!

2^nd time we stayed here. They are renovating now, but they let us check in at 9:15AM after we got up here from driving 7 hrs. Rooms are nice. No complaints.

As a parent of an NMU student, we travel to Marquette frequently. This hotel was previously a mainstay for us. Basically, it’s a nice hotel, clean, and it’s convenient to the NMU campus and area restaurants & shopping. However, we have crossed this hotel off our list. The reason: the room rates almost DOUBLE during times whenever NMU has a big event. When I asked the manager about this, the justification was that «all of the hotels in town do this». Sorry — I won’t do business with a hotel that practices such blatant price gouging !!! We’ve experienced this twice now with this Comfort Suites — hence, we won’t be back.
My advice: if NMU has an event going on, it pays to shop around. Contrary to what we were told — not all of the other hotels have this business practice.

Nice, clean business hotel. I was very happy with the cleanliness and comfortable bed in the king suite. They have discounts at two chain restaurants within walking distance (Perkins and something else). The staff was friendly and pleasant.
