The hotel looks clean, I’ll give them that… But after killing two roaches in the first 10 minutes we were there my husband and I packed our bags and hit the road.

AWESOMEAWESOMEAWESOME, clean, beautiful, organized … I feel like home, my kids wanted to move here! Lol the beds are so comfy, the breakfast was great; I feel like I am at home. The pool is beautiful and clean and accommodating, they even have a seat for handicap to get into the pool. The owners went above and beyond when creating this beautiful cabin feel.

So glad I found this place as we were on the way to the raunchy Motel 6. 95 $/night. It looks brand new. Everything is extremely extremely clean. To me that is what is most important in a hotel. Comfortable beds, lots of pillows, nice bathroom and towels. Each room has a fridge. They have a complimentary breakfast with eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, and fruit. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This is exactly what we needed on our cross country road trip. Come here, you won’t be disappointed or have to worry about bed bugs

Great hotel for the relatively low price: clean, friendly staff, easy to get to, with plenty of amenities. Comfortable bed with a really nice TV. Bathrooms clean with a nice hot shower with good pressure. Extra sink in the living area makes things easier for multiple people. The little extras include: a fine breakfast buffet including eggs/sausage, cold & hot cereals, fruit, yogurt, freshly made waffles, and milk/juices. Everything about the place is roomy: the rooms(ha ha), the lobby, and even the hallways. Just easier to move around. Sam’s steakhouse next door is a great restaurant(again, for the price), that had more than steak(try the fish options). They have free WiFi, and it does work, but the signal dropped every so often. Workable but not perfect. Anyway, overall I’d rate Lincoln Suites as an excellent value-based place to stay.

Attempting to drive from Kansas City to Columbus in the middle of the polar vortex and on the heels of a snowstorm was a very stupid idea(and, notably, not mine), but the roads were surprisingly clear and driveable until we passed STL, when plows and salt(and civilization, really) all dropped off the face of the earth for the entirety of the state of Illinois. After a couple hours of going nowhere fast(about a 10−20mph crawl the entire way) and seeing one too many overturned semis and cars in ditches, we decided to find a hotel… and of course, the 20 or so hotels between Vandalia and the outskirts of Terre Haute were all booked up by other panicking travelers. Making the reservation twice as difficult was the fact my two dogs were traveling with us(and one of them is quite large) and the weather threatening to dip below -30 °F, there was no way they could stay in the car. Lincoln Suites was our godsend — the only hotel room available — and the very pleasant man at the desk was able to secure it for us over the phone while we were still an hour or so away. The room was huge and spacious and totally not what I expected from the last available hotel room in the state of Illinois. The beds were super comfortable, the abundance of towels and pillows was VERY much appreciated, and the fact the room opened up to the outdoors but stayed comfortably warm despite the awful temperatures outside was VERY impressive. We didn’t have time to stay for breakfast due to the huge delay in travel, but it looked great!
