Excellent! Friendly, attentive service; delicious, authentic Italian food. The owner stopped by the table to check on us and we had a nice visit… nice guy. The place has simple but elegant, modern décor. I had the spinach ravioli and it was divine! Hubby had a pizza and it was also very good.

I don’t always feel compelled to write reviews, but the service was so wonderful, I just had to! We do not live in Marshall, nor have we ever been here before — stopping point on a little road trip. Our server, Krista, was so sweet to my two little boys. She was attentive, personable, and friendly. The food was amazing as well! I loved the burrata and meatballs! The pizza was to die for too. Highly recommend this sweet and delish spot!

Excellent food and great waitstaff! Everyone seems to know everything about all their products. The desserts are freshly made, and boy, are they good! Coffee is very great 9⁄10 the only downside is it has a very small sour aftertaste. Some like that, I personally don’t mind it, but it’s not my favorite. With all that said, it is a great venue to have a couple drinks from a well listed and reasonably priced wine list or try some of the craft ipa’s. Amazing everytime I have been in here!

Overall this is a nice place– our waitress was very friendly and gave good suggestions. I have to say however that I am really at odds with the gushing reviews. It’s was okay, but definitely not the best pizza I have ever eaten. Not even in the top tier. We had the Meatlovers(good), the Nonno Pipino(our favorite), and the Quatro Formaggi(really bland). I generally am all about the crust and this was crispy around the edges and soggy in the middle. We got the large pizzas and they ARE big. But they are also pricey…$ 75.00 for a trip to a pizzeria(no beer!) is kind of steep. We are from out of town and chose this restaurant based on Unilocal reviews. I think we could have made a better choice.

Please, please: have a Margherita pizza. It’s just made the right way, with Marzano tomatoes boiled from a very short period, just the time to peel them. Good pizza, really. I know a lot of people like beer with their pizza, but if you want some wine, I suggest to pair your Margherita with«the rule» Cabernet from Napa, CA

If you pay for ordinary take out pizza your wasting your money. This place is just as close in price but a whole other world in taste. It’s the best pizza, s I have had in a long, long time or ever. And all there staff are awesome! They have wines and beers. It’s a non smoking restaurant. You’ll have the staff always paying attention to you. The owner is great and you’ll become friends easily. The place is well taken care of and clean. The atmosphere is great. And great location.

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. Great wood fired oven. I have eaten pizza from both New York and Chicago and this ranks up top with both if not better! All toppings and food was very fresh, awesome service. Never once had to ask waiter for refills or anything they were totally on top of everything. They also have a large selection of domestic and import beers as wine and a very nice atmosphere. The price is very reasonable 18-inch loaded pizza for $ 21. I will definitely be back!!!

Excellent! Read a review about the Nonno Pipino pizza with sauteed shrimp. Had to try it. Always looking for something unique and this fit the bill. The shrimp had to have cooked separately from the pizza and that made it taste great. It allowed the shrimp to have proper texture-not soggy. Great sauce and cheese combination too. The cheesecake dessert was awesome, better than the cheesecake factory. Service was fantastic! Especially liked the way they handle a credit card payment. All restaurants should follow their policy!

Because there is something you haven’t seen in a long time you need to check this place out. I have been here twice. Both times I have seen Joseph the restaurant owner checking on customers, pouring wine, joking with customers and listening to people. Why would a restaurant owner be in Marshall Texas on a Thursday night? I can only conclude that this is not a restaurant owner just interested in the bottom line. He actually cares about thee place. I brought my two kids here as a treat. They are used to «pizza pizza» take out and red Barron bake at home pizza. This pizza is about 4 times as expensive as the cheapest brands but its worth it. You can taste the herbs, you can see them growing them even, in a large window where you can see the flames of a real pizza oven. Everything here is taken care of. The restrooms were super clean, the restaurant was nicely lit, and had a good atmosphere. All the tables were full except for one and a couple of two seaters. Full restaurant downtown Marshall on a Thursday night? It has been a while since i have seen that. When I went into the place I was waiting for my kids to meet me and I was greeted by a friendly hostess that looked like a 1970s supermodel.(think her name is Austen) she made sure i had something to drink while I waited for my kiddos. Then she put a hold on a table since they were scarce and had the bus guys get the table ready. I was seated and gave our order to the great waitress Debra. I believe that was her name. I wrote it down so I could write thee review but seem to have lost it. Later in the eve she told me how joseph had found out one of his kitchen guys had a baby and the owner made a big deal about it and brought him presents. Then she told me how he was always joking and fun to work for. She made sure I had coffee all the time and they have small cups and I drink fast. The coffee was good, It has ben a long time since I have had good coffee in a restaurant. My waitress told me the name of it and how it was flown in from Italy. I added cream and it was so smooth i needed no sugar. My kids were wowed at the pepperoni pizza with fresh herbs and said it was way better than their regular pizza. Dinner for the three of us was about 21.00 for the food. The restaurant is super clean the food is way above average. The owner actually cares and it shows. If you live in Marshall you know we do have a few good restaurants that have owners who care. Overall though it’s a rare thing. It’s important we support them when we find them. This is no corporate joint that serves the lowest cost food to make a buck, but a real restaurant, with happy people. Check it out, and you should be impressed. Take your kids so they can see the difference between a real restaurant and just someplace to make money.

O. M. G. First of all I love the building. Beautiful old brick building in the heart of downtown, awesome wood floors, brightly lit, clean, great mix of old and new. The food. There were several items on the menu that I wanted to try but unfortunately being my first visit, and flying solo this evening, I could only choose one. I decided on the Nonno Pipino, a shrimp Alfredo pizza. It was absolutely the best pizza I have had. I’m glad I ordered a small, because if I had more I would have eaten it all and been miserable. That’s really all I can say about it, just the best! The staff is all very friendly and helpful, a waitress that was just walking by stopped and asked how I was doing. My waitress was patient and helpful with the menu and entertained my questions about the downtown area. Great! The kitchen is fully viewable through large windows. It looks to be very clean and organized. And everything smells fantastic. I can’t wait to come back to this downtown gem and try something else!

The pizzas are their selling points because the pastas suck. I have been twice now and I ordered shrimp and penne in alfredo sauce and I didn’t like it because the shrimp tasted like rubber. The second time I visited, I ordered the Fiorentina pizza. The ingredients were fresh and their dough is delicious. I had a Caprese Salad and for a $ 9 salad, the tomatoes should have been ripe. All in all, not terrible but not great. Also had a good variety of wine and beers!

Pietro’s started about 30 years ago in Longview Texas, as a stand alone restaurant in the shopping mall. Quickly took over as the best pizza in the area. Today the sons run these smaller offshoot restaurants keeping the family tradition of fresh ingredients and great service alive. There is a good selection of domestic and imported beers, as well as a whole wall of wines to choose from. A varied menu gives ample choice of appetizers, entrees and there is a dessert case. I started off with a Moretti Italian lager, which I had never tried, it was nice. For an appetizer I ordered the calamari. Most area restaurants, including the ones specializing in seafood, use frozen pre breaded calamari, but not here. Watching through the window into the prep area, you could see them tossing the fresh calamari in breading, and placing them into the fryer. A bit disappointed that it was only the rings, without tentacles, but it was fresh, tender and seasoned just right, served with an olive oil and lemon dipping sauce. Ordered the shrimp pizza. Too often places will just plop some frozen shrimps on top of the pie and call it good, leaving the crust kinda soggy… Not here! While the shrimp are not super jumbo, they were not lil baby shrimp either. Best of all they were pan seared, and lightly seasoned before being placed on their bed of Alfredo sauce that had been bubbling in the pizza oven, then tucked in under a blanket of fresh mozzarella, then finished in the oven till just bubbly. As another reviewer stated, possibly the new best spot in town!

It’s New! So be patient with the staff. The pizza was very good and the beer wine selection was also good. I’ll skip the bread and vinaigrette next time(the bread looked and tasted pre-made/frozen and the vinaigrette too sour for me). It is wonderful to have a new restaurant/business in downtown and the view is of course wonderful if the Historic Courthouse if your able to see around the ugly Chase bank building. I will be back and I’m sure on a regular basis. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.

Boy, there is a new contender for the best restaurant in Marshall. And there very well may be a new winner. Pietro’s is still only in its«soft opening» stage but may well be the best joint in town. Fresh ingredients and preparation are the key words here. Prices are on the slightly higher side for Marshall, but the results are worth it. I’ve had lunch here twice and it was excellent both time. I’ve had two of the 9″ pizzas — a prosciutto with arugula and a Fiorenze(or Florentine, I forget which term they use) pizza with spinach and artichokes. Just a personal preference, I thought the prosciutto was a bit better, but both were excellent. Good fresh salads, too. I’ve yet to try the pastas, but if they’re as good as the rest, this place will be a real winner. Even if Pietro’s were in Dallas, you wouldn’t be disappointed in eating there.

JG score of 5.5÷10(+2 for food, +0.5 for atmosphere, +1 for price, +1 for Diet Dr Pepper, 0 for service and +1 for we will return) The food here was good. We tried 3 pizzas today. The supreme was good but not unlike any other supreme. The Philly Connection is like a Philly Cheesesteak pizza with grilled steak and mozzarella cheese, carmelized onions and peppers(calabrese sweet)…this was a good pizza but not as good as the name sounds. So, that leaves the Carne Neopolitan Pizza. Who could not get a pizza named just«meat». It was by far the best and its best feature was the meatball slices. 3 other meats were fennel sausage, pancetta and pepperoni. It was very good… The menu is fancy and many other entrees sound good as well. We were looking at other peoples plates to see what to try next. The atmosphere was nice. It is crowded and busy at noon for the lunch rush. We saw several groups leave because of no more tables. There is a bar area in the entry where you can sit as well as tables to sit at. They have a large menu of beers posted above. A small view lets you see into the kitchen. If you walk up the ramp, you get to the main sitting area with many more tables and a view of the wine rack area and pictures on the wall of family. It is a nice place for a date, to dress up or a beer. Our price was fine under $ 15 each for the 9 inch pizzas. Larger than that is over $ 15. They do have Diet Dr Pepper Service was only okay. At the end, the owner did come by and talk to us a while. He was nice and told us of their Longview and Bossier places, their 26 years in the Longview mall and how it is his father over their making our pizzas in their 700 degree oven which was cool. We will be back and try his favorites which he told us were the Calabrese Neopolitan pizza and the Ricotta Gnocchi.
