This is the only Chinese food I eat! Very clean establishment! The luncheon specials are a great deal! The general tsos chicken is my favorite!

As good as it gets for take-out/delivery Chinese food. Food is always fresh and tasty and delivery time is always on time or before expected. I love the pineapple fried rice and the egg-rolls and spring rolls are the best I have ever had. I can’t speak to the dine in experience but the delivery people are always prompt and courteous. I will have to dine in and update my review but so far so good. Keep up the good work. P.S. Hunan chicken was also delicious and spicy!

Have been in town over three years now and just recently found this place. Missed Chinese food where we came from and have been settling for what was close to the house. Look no further. Take the drive to the«other side of town» and you won’t be disappointed. On top of that, they’ve got Japanese as well. Absolutely everything we’ve tried so far has been great, and we keep going back. Dine in or take out — service is great. A little slice of Chinese food heaven right here in town. I’ve read earlier reviews — trust me, the info is outdated.

I love these people. Absolutely great Japanese food. Chinese seems pretty standard. But overall, a great place.

General Gau’s Chicken. So good. I’ve requested it before with all white meat chicken and even the boiled chicken. Pineapple fried rice and the crab Rangoon are awesome. As for sushi, I’ve never had a better spicy tuna hand roll. I always order a spicy California also even though it’s not on the menu. By far my favorite and also made to order is the EBIKANI with sweet potato(crab, crunchy tempura mixed with the most delicious spicy mayo and a pieces of sweet potato tempura) cut into 8. It has turned all my non sushi friends into sushi lovers. Even have it delivered for parties. It’s all fresh. Best sushi and Chinese food around.

This is our go-to family sushi restaurant. Kong and Ping are personable and friendly and wonderful people. It’s a great American success story. Very reasonable prices and extremely accommodating ownership. I have recommended dozens of friends and have heard good things from all of them.

I came here based on reviews from other Unilocalers and I was generally satisfied with the outcome. My only issues with the place were with the Sesame Chicken. There was way too much batter used and the chicken itself was dry inside the cooked batter ball. As someone who had never been there before I felt the staff was unfriendly, which was only confirmed when a couple of «locals» came in and received a hearty welcome. I’d go back for the food, and to try a few more options but only if I’m in the area, it wasn’t worth the drive by itself.

My husband and I live close so we eat take out here pretty frequently, because it’s convenient. However, we are going to stop going here because it is overpriced, and the last few times we ordered sushi it tasted bad. We got the shrimp tempura and it smelled fishy. We’re going to start going to the new hibachi place is marshfield– much better quality there.

I’d read a few reviews of the place before I called in my order. I looked online to see what might tempt me before I placed the call. Upon ordering from the online menu, I was told that it was an OLD menu, and they did NOT have Sweet & Sour Pork(seems they have NO interest in updating their OLD menu). I settled on the Sweet & Sour Chicken, an order of Egg Rolls, and Orange Flavored Beef. The Egg Rolls seemed fresh and homemade. They were crispy inside and out. A good start. However, the Orange Flavored Beef was quite tough, and had a fish flavor to it. The sauce did not have a lot of flavor, but it was ok. Still, the toughness and the fishy flavor made this dish worthy of the trash, in my estimation. The Sweet & Sour Chicken was average. Overall, I won’t go back to the Mandarin, and would not suggest this restaurant to anyone. There are other Chinese restaurants in Marshfield that can make better food.

We ordered some takeout food. We had a pupu platter for 4 and some rices, noodles and other dishes. The food took a hour and a half to get there, but it was a busy weekend night so no problem. The problem we had was the PUPU platter did not have everything that was listed on their menu. It had ZERO sprig rolls and it should have had 4. When I called to bring it to their attention, I was told I must have an old menu. I replied that I ordered off the online menu. All in all food was OK, but the portion size of everything in the PUPU platter was inadequate.

Definitely my favorite local Chinese/Japanese restaurant. Well priced, and great tasting! The sushi always tastes fresh and delicious. There have been a few times when my table received poorly cooked meals, but usually, it makes me and my belly very happy!

My wife and I think this is the best Chinese food on the South Shore. The atmosphere is friendly and casual, the service attentive, and there’s a great vibe because it is so hugely popular with the locals. The food is consistently great; we especially like the House Special Sizzling and the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. The sushi is excellent. They serve some beer but there’s no real bar… and that’s a Good Thing because the Chinese restaurants with full bars often make their money on the bar, serving mediocre food. Mandarin Tokyo serves great food at a fair price. It can get very busy, but it’s worth the wait. The TV shows some pretty bizarre selections if there’s no Celtics game. Last time it was all home renovation reality shows. It’s safe to say that, while they have a TV, it does not distract from quality conversation ;-)

This used to be our favorite Chinese take-out – bar none. The food is much higher quality than other places in the area, but the problem is that I’ve gotten sick the last 2 times we’ve gone. The first time I thought it was a one-off, like I must’ve caught a stomach bug or something because my husband didn’t get sick after eating the same food. That was a couple of months ago. Tonight we went back and the same thing has happened again! All I had was one chicken finger and two pieces of beef teriyaki, and the only thing I can think of is they may fry their chicken fingers in the same oil as their fish(?), so if you have a seafood sensitivity like me, or God forbid are allergic to seafood, be careful!

I have been a regular for years. Kong and Ping run a great show. You can get a wide variety of handmade and fresh to order sushi. Their Chinese food is also the best in town. The owners know my family and I by name and we always look forward to going there. The sesame chicken plate and the salt and pepper shrimp are two of my favorites. The ebi kani maki, California, shrimp tempera, and crazy dragon rolls are hands down the best sushi. I have never had a bad meal here. We recommend MT to everyone we know.

Nothing special about this place. Yes, the sushi is reasonably priced, only because they don’t use the best or freshest ingredients. You will pretty much pay what you get for. Maybe we went on the wrong(friday) night, but the«hostess» was pretty rude. We can tell the sushi chef and the waitress were working really hard, and we’re kind to us, but the«hostess» totally turned us off with her demeanor. We won’t be returning.

Love Mandarin Tokyo!!! I’ve lived in town all my life and we just started going here about 2 years ago when our old go to place(royal garden in kingston) started to go down hill. Ever since, we’ve been hooked on MT. Their place is so clean and the owners are very nice. The delivery guy, Craig I think his name was, is really cool and very quick. He loved my Boxers and he has one so of course I liked him for that :) The food here is really the best Chinese I’ve had. We don’t get the Japanese food but they have a whole menu for it. We stick to the usual suspects which include crab rangoon, beef fried rice, veggie lo mein, chicken fingers, and my parents get the chicken chow mein. All the food is so fresh and has minimal grease. They really do have the best Chinese around and the prices are about what you’d expect. Now only if Chinese food wasn’t so bad for you…
