Restaurant is the South Shores hidden jewel. First, the bartender is hot. More like a sister. Lots of fun. Makes incredible exotic drinks. Jan the chef is nice and we endorse him. But, his cooking is amazing. Restaurant is cozy. Good service. Great for family. Nice place to bring a date.

This Shining-vibe dining parlor has entrees succulent in ways the local Bermuda Triangle(the Jetty, Venus II, and Haddad’s) can’t hope to match.

Nice atmosphere, we had good service. We never knew this was a working restaurant by the appearance of the outside. We thought it was an empty building. The outside could use a facelift Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and just downright bland. We were disappointed and not likely to return

Affordable meals. Entertainment was karaōke singer playing guitar that was a bit too loud for dinner conversation. Two and a half stars. Seafood dish was best. Chicken Parmesan and pork were average.

We have eaten here a number of times since moving to marshfield last summer. Every meal I have ordered has been great. The service is always friendly. I do like that the menu changes a decent amount and the fact that the entrees are very moderately priced. This might not be the prettiest place, but it is totally worth trying.

this place is the absolute worst restaurant on planet earth. i am not kidding a dog wouldn’t have consumed what they were serving i don’t think gitmo would serve what this place is pushing out of their kitchen. i literally thought we were being punked or i was going to see gordon ramsey emerge from the back of the restaurant. i cannot believe people actually eat at this place, if you are thinking of it stay away go to brant rock where the food is actually edible– i actually tried to submit this review with 0 stars because that’s how revolting this place is

Had a wonderful evening at the Fieldston. Great, prompt, friendly service. Best eggplant parm I’ve had in a long time, great tomato sauce. Steak I had was done to perfection, very tasty. The baked sole was rather salty. Conversation was possible due to music not being too loud, really nice. All in all a very positive experience.

It’s sad when a good restaurant goes south. But alas, such is the fate of the Fieldston. What used to be excellent food, I had thought after they added the new room with the fire place that the place was set to take off. I was mistaken. On a rare evening alone with the Mrs., we ended up here. My wife’s report of the ladies room should have served as the initial tip-off that foul things were afoot. While I was perusing the single paper containing the menu, she was dodging mold and rust in the ladies room. She is not fussy, so for her to comment on and be skeeved out by the ladies room is saying something. The $ 5 special margaritas were almost undrinkable. We experienced a slight rebound with the Salmon Chowder. That was unique and very tasty. The Vietnamese spring rolls were above average. The entrees were a disappointment. While technically cooked very well, we both had fish over lobster risotto and found the meals wanting. The stuffing on my cod was sub-par. The raspberry sauce on my wife’s salmon trended towards weird. My wife placed the risotto as out of a box. The service was slightly below average, and there was not much of a crowd. This used to be one of our favorite places but I really don’t see us going back.

Came here last Saturday for dinner with the family. We got there at about 7:00 and it was not very busy. We had the dining room all to ourselves. The bar section was busier and their was live music. Bread was amazing. We asked for refills on the bread at least twice. The menu selection was pretty decent. Prices were a tad high but not too bad. I got the chicken parm which was good. I was disappointed that the only pasta choice was linguine. Everyone thought their meals were«just ok». I also thought the portion sizes seemed a bit small. Definitely a decent place, I would go back.

Came here after the marshfield fair for the Sunday night clean-out-the-kitchen special. Entrees were $ 10 and appetizers $ 5 with decent selection. No beers on tap, just bottles. Loved the prices. Free fresh baked bread with a bruchetta sauce came out first. We got the artichoke hearts stuffed with goat cheese, breaded and fried. Delicious but tomato sauce poured over it kind of ruined the subtle flavors. My husband got the stuffed chicken over linguine. Flavor of stuffing was bland. Tomato sauce nothing special. I got the shrimp and scallops with garlic, sundried tomatoes lobster juice over linguine. The reason for the 3 stars is because my scallops were rank. Everything else about the dish was perfect but it’s hard to have a seafood dish with rotten seafood. Our waitress was excellent and offered to replace my dish with something else on the menu but we were in a hurry so didn’t take her up on the offer.

Went to the fieldston tonight for clean out the kitchen night, and I have to say that finally we have found a place worth eating in marshfield. The shrimp and scallops over pasta and the lamb shank over pasta were perfectly prepared, seasoned and cooked. And all that for only $ 10 a meal and $ 5 for apps. Would definitely recommend this place!

Great food at great prices. On Sunday night they run specials where entrees are $ 10 each. They call it «clean out the fridge night.» service is great and their wines are really nice. Try the Temperanillo.

We have eaten at The Fieldston many times and it is one of the best restaurants on the the South Shore. The food is always fantastic with local and seasonal items always on the menu. It is an excellent value — particularly during one of their specials. The wine list is well thought out and there is always something to compliment the meal. This is an excellent example of a chef owned restaurant done right. The food comes first and you can tell that with the first bite! The atmosphere is pleasant — nice without being stuffy. This is our favorite restaurant in the area and we can’t wait to go back!

Yikes… awful…don’t bother. Had stuffed pork loin and it had no stuffing and tough as leather. Mentioned it waiter and he was not sure why cook did not put in stuffing… check your glasses… they are filthy…

Average food and service, nothing particularly bad, or good either. I wouldn’t make a special trip just to go here, but if you happen to be near the place and hungry it’s just ok. There are certainly better places to eat within a couple of minutes drive, so I don’t go here very often. Good location close to the beach and it has a small amount of off street parking. It looks like the review written on 11/21/2007 was written by the owner himself. The review is a little TOOFAMILIAR with the prices to the exact penny. Arctic Char(Chilean Tooth fish) has become an endangered species, and most of the fish being imported to the US is from poachers fishing this profitable fish to extinction. I refuse to buy it to continue to support the destruction of this species. Why not put Bald Eagle on the menu too while you are at it. And if you have to be an insider to know that the good deal is on Sunday nights only, I guess everybody who shows up on a different night is being hosed eh? Stupid us for not knowing that! The quality of the food, was average, the service was VERY S… L…O…W and the waiter looked like a teenager who had no clue as to how to do things the right way.

Nice, quiet restaurant not far from the water. Really good food and decent sized portions. Expensive, especially for that area, but not bad for a nice night out.
