What A great little restaurant! Needed to pick up some lunch for my guys, and this place came up as being close to our location. Great food at great prices. Friendly staff(who actually spoke English!) and fun/unique art. I will definitely be stopping by this place again!

Food: 3 stars Service: 3 stars Ambiance: 3 stars Final: 3 stars For a Mexican restaurant situated in a strip mall just off SR4, this place is not bad. When I tried it out for the first time, I wasn’t expecting anything all that good. In fact, I just wanted some food. It was lunch time, I was hungry and I wanted something quick and cheap. But when I actually got my burrito, it was actually pretty good. Well packed, a good ratio of rice to other parts, not too soggy, and actually had some flavor to it. I’ve now been here a couple of times with other people and the comments are the same, «Not bad for the price.» Now, this not to say that I would consider this to be the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, but for the convenience, price, and taste, it fits the bill.

This place is great. Everyone has a smile on their face. The prices there are a little on the high side. food tastes good but not ten dollar good for the burritos. I ordered a chicken taco salad recently and they made it quick but the chicken was cold. it was fast but made me think that the chicken wasn’t cooked recently and threw it in there and that’s why it was so fast. Still tasted good. A tip would be to ask for a few bags of chips because they only give you a small amount. Salsa bar on the side with three choices but a little watery.

Let me start off by saying I’ve hated cinco de mayo for, like, ever. The one in Clayton is disgusting and the one in concord also sucks. Recently moved to Martinez and decided to come here the other day and was pleasantly shocked on how good my food was. The salsa could use some improvement because i felt like it tasted watered down or something but besides that I really enjoyed my food. Currently called in an order to be picked up so gtg!

I love this place, been going to the Pacheco location for years, and love that this one opened too. Everyone is very friendly and the food is delicious I get their tamales for every special family gathering and they are always a hit.

The food here is terrible, I ordered three tacos, a beef and two chicken hard tacos. Their number #10. The Chicken inside the super hard fried shell was bland and flavorless. The beef was also in this super hard fried shell, it was dry and tasteless. I don’t understand how in California there can be bad Mexican food. But this place seems to have bad managed that skill. The rice tasted old and dry and the beans are the only reason I gave 1 star. There were just traditional Mexican beans. I’m not sure if they fry the taco after they stuff it but the meat ends up being super dry. A waste of $ 9, I am from New York and heard great things about Mexican food this isn’t the place. No way who fries cooked chicken inside a hard shell, =extra dry meat. Never again

Cinco de Mayo is totally bland! There wasn’t any seasoning in the beans and hardly any in the rice. They’re salsas were like water. The taco shell was refried and my moms quesadilla was burned and was folded weird. It was also so greasy, I can tell its going to be an uncomfortable night right now.

I live close to this one but every time I go they get my order wrong, and the customer service is horrible! The tall girl who is there, who used to work at the Pacheco one, never smiles and is so darn rude!!! Today was the last time, I’m going to just drive to Pacheco from now on.

First time going here and they take pride in the food they cook, it’s delicious and they serve cheesecake, Omg! I’m definitely coming back and the menu is large. This place has a lot of customers which is a plus. All around great Mexican food.

This place is ehhh. Honestly, pretty generic tasting mexican food. For the price, and how much I got in terms of volume it was not all that great… I did a take out order, the lady on the phone was super friendly, and when I picked it up the four ladies at the front desk rang me up and all had smiles. This review is mainly about the quality and taste of the food. The salsa bar is a bit small, mild, medium and hot. I got the special taco combination. Came with 3 different soft tacos, carnitas, beef and I belief marinated pork. The meat quality was probably 4⁄5 stars, I could not taste anything else really. The tortillas were pretty dry on the taco. Came with small serving of rice and beans(which were also pretty dry)… Maybe my expectations were pretty high, but I honestly wanted some authentic mexican food, but this did not satisfy my craving. I should have just gone to chipotle for more volume and better tasting meat for a cheaper price!

Dinning room was clean, employee was friendly prices fair and portion size was good. Thus the two stars. The food was bland, the carne asada had a strange taste. The pico de gallo was sweet like spaghetti sauce and they used canned tomatoes, it was gross. Would not recommend but good in a pinch.

Went to pickup food today with a coworker. I had a combo plate(tamale was good, cheese enchilada was so-so but the chili relleno was a total mess and i have nothing good to say about it. It was submerged in a light red watery sauce type, the bell pepper was so hard i needed a knife to cut through it and the cheese inside was not melted. I have had better for sure.

I have since gone back and ordered the carne asada wet burrito and it is really yummy. For regular carne asada burritos I’ll stick with Primavera taco truck.

My new husband and I just got married yesterday afternoon, and after we had the reception, packed everything up and headed back home to Martinez. We were starving, as were our family members. We suggested Cinco De Mayo for dinner since it’s close to our house, and the food is always great. So our whole family, 9 of us all together, including me in my wedding dress, piled into the restaurant and had a great dinner. The girls working there were great, took our large order and pushed 2 tables together for us. The food was wonderful, everything cam out exactly how we had ordered it, everyone had a great time. I ordered the chicken enchilada combination plate with beans and rice, and a chile relleno on the side, it was amazing! I didn’t get to eat much at the wedding, I was very happy to stuff myself! We usually go to the Cinco De Mayo on Pacheco Blvd, but this one is great, too :)

When I lived in Martinez I frequented the Pacheco Cinco and thought it was good, but after living in a tourist town for four years, I think it’s DELICIOUS. How do their bean, cheese, and rice burritos taste so good??? I’m glad that this location exists because it makes it easier than ever to get a fix when I’m in town.

My barometer of greatness of carnitas is perhaps a strange one, but hear me out: do they remind me of a perfectly cooked Thanksgiving turkey? Consider: a slow cook, loaded with flavors only infused by time. Juicy, mouthwateringly melty in your mouth, maybe even a little stringy in the best way. Some crisp on the edges where the heat really did its job. Am I loco? Probably. But that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Cinco de Mayo, formerly Chavinda, delivered on my autumnal scale. Their carnitas quesadilla was packed pull of perfectly cooked and seasoned juicy meat, with some good crispy bits to provide awesome texture. Complemented by instead of overwhelmed by the quality cheese, toasty on the outside, and served with perfect amounts of sour cream, guac and pico de gallo for cool fresh contrast. Heaven! I also ordered a crispy chicken taco, to have an impromptu taco-off with Cinco and my beloved Los Panchos. Los Panchos’ chicken is a bit more flavorful, but Cinco tops theirs with tomatos and a little guac along with the shredded cheese and lettuce, so it’s more well-rounded. I also thought Cinco’s taco was ultimately a bit greasier. Still very tasty though! The quesadilla, taco and a bottle of Mexican Coke came out to less than $ 11 — I dined in and the food seemed to be a little slow coming out compared to other patrons, but there were also a lot of burritos being ordered and I know those come together a lot quicker than my order. Definitely another totally worthy taqueria in Martinez!

Close to my house although not the most authentic Mexican food always consistent and very reasonably priced. I love the nachos especially with steak. The enchiladas are good but be careful if you get them to go they have a lot of sauce on them and can be soggy. Service is always fast and very friendly.

located in a strip mall across from the local movie theatre, prices are reasonable and the«super burrito» definitely is very large. complementary tortilla chips are a nice touch. I ordered a super burrito with carnitas and it was very good. employees were friendly and efficient EDIT: I came in and ordered a regular burrito and they gave me a fiesta burrito with all the fixings. I brought it to the attention of one of the waitresses and she would not do anything about it, she told me that that’s how I ordered it, even though I specifically remember asking for it plain(rice, meat, cheese, beans). This really disappointed me. she came off as extremely rude. Deducting a star for this experience.

We moved a year ago and sadly moved away from the OG Cinco De Mayo on Pacheco Blvd. Then to my burrito loving delight they opened this location. While not walking distance like the other location was, this ones closer to my new house. The Guacamole is made exactly the same. The Crispy Chicken tacos still crispy and seasoned perfectly. We had a little get together one night and ordered food for 8 over the phone. It was ready in 20 minutes. Hot and fresh. My son inhales the Guacamole. He judges all other Guac’s to Cinco De Mayo standards. My standard is the Fiesta Chicken Burrito. I eat half for dinner and save half for breakfast. One of my favorite types of breakfasts. Cinco De Mayo is still my #1 Mexican food destination. No matter the location.
