At first I thought I had wasps swarming around the outside of my 2nd story, near the chimney. A pest control company said it was honey bees and referred me to Bill at Honey Bee Specialties. I called and they came out and used a heat-seeking gun to spot where the bees had built a hive between the ceiling drywall and the roof in the upstairs bedroom. Unfortunately it was very expensive to take care of as the ceiling had to be cut open, then patched. It took a total of about 4 hours. They were very careful to protect my stairs and carpet and used netting to seal the area. The bees were transported to a new home somewhere. They also sealed the outside so the bees can’t get back in. So good service and good work, but it’s expensive.

We called HBS on a Sunday evening, after discovering a swarm on our roof. They came right over the next morning & surveyed the situation. Turns out the Queen had gotten tired during migration, & plopped on our roof to take a rest(with attendants & scouts in tow). Bill made us feel secure about the situation & didn’t charge anything for coming over. Also — I’d called & emailed other bee removal companies that evening. HBS were the only ones that answered the phone on a Sunday night. The other(local) companies never even got back to us. That deserves another star!

We had a major bee problem… kept finding dead bees on our windowsills. My husband found this company and they came out and cut a hole in our wall above our fireplace… and, there they were… the owner estimated over 60,000 bees! about 4 months worth… They were extremely professional and had immense knowledge of bees. They were very careful and clean!!! And, friendly! they cleaned them out and patched our wall… all we need to do is paint. We will recommend this company to anyone that has a problem with bees. Thanks so much Honey Bee Specialties!

My Mom called me to say she had bees in her kitchen and the doors hadn’t been open. Huh? So I went over to see for myself and sure enough, she had bees coming in the house and we had no clue from where. We didn’t want to kill the bees, but we wanted them gone, so I called Bill at HoneyBee Specialties and he came right over. He said a bee colony had settled in a soffit over the kitchen window and had gotten in through a gap in the exterior wall. He gave us a free estimate and once we approved it, he and his team of three came in and tented the entire kitchen to contain the bees. They suited up in their beekeeping garb and proceeded to cut the sheetrock open. Of course the bees started flying all over the place and we could see them through the plastic tenting. A little later Carlos stepped down from his ladder to show us the honeycomb that was in the wall. Wow… what a surprise! They use a vacuum system to suck up the bees into a container they use to transport them to their new hive location. While it took several hours to complete the project, when the tenting was finally removed, the bees were gone and the sheetrock was back in place and our problem was solved. Mom’s blood pressure was back to normal and all I had to do was call a painter to tape, mud and paint the area that had been temporarily removed. The long and the short of it is Bill and his team were extraordinarily professional and truly cared for the well-being of the bees. They told us in advance what they would do and how much it would cost and they stayed true to what they had told us. As Bill and the team left, in addition to saying goodbye, he gave us a quart of honey with a big smile!
