Overall they get 5 stars because they have good pizza(when they’re not burning it). Pizza is amazing on a good day and still really good on a not so good day! Don’t listen to bad reviews(you have to question their validity when the user it came from leaves nothing BUT bad reviews lol). Give it a try ask for softer crust if you don’t like it crispy.

The pizza is amazing. Cannot find NY style pizza in the Lou often. A true east coast girl and this feels like home. Lynn the bartender is fantastic, warm and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

½ off appetizers and $ 3 beers before 7pm. Never packed, servers remember your name. Food comes out quickly. How can you go wrong? Deep fried pickles have a kick — great. Chicken strips are okay. Buffalo chicken sandwich is good. Jalapeño poppers are hot. Beer is cold.

Was here on a business trip and decided to go for some pizza. BIG Mistake. I’m from NY and know good pizza. I ordered the St. Louis style thin crust pizza. It was barely edible. The crust was not fresh-it tasted like store bought frozen pre-made junk. It was a disaster. They advertise fresh/hand tossed dough and that’s what I expected but unfortunately not what I got. The servers though we’re efficient and friendly-too bad the food was not up to par.

I won a gift certificate here and was pleasantly surprised by the pizza. Hubby and I went for lunch on a Wednesday. Service was pleasant but slow since it appeared one server was doing EVERYTHING — waiting tables, filling drink orders, bussing tables plus some stuff in the kitchen too. The hand-tossed pizza was pretty good — we ordered one with canadian bacon and pineapple — and reheated really well thanks to the generous amount of cheese on it. We definitely want to go back and try the deep-dish pizza but will definitely call ahead, as we were told it takes 45 minutes to an hour to cook(and ain’t nobody got time for that. .. at least when dining in).

Slow service. Terrible calzone. The crust was burnt badly, and had the consistency of cardboard. I was never offered a refill. Very disappointed. Our salads sat in the window for over five minutes. I don’t recommend going here.

The most disgusting pizza ever. They ran out of cheese, no red wine, no coffee. Thin crust pizza was like eating a saltine with government cheese. Gross do not eat here.

West Port Pizza is very tasty. I’m not a pizza fan and I don’t really like thin crust pizza so this is right up my alley. The fire roasted veggie has everything I love and nothing I don’t. It’s made with pesto instead of marinara and is covered in feta instead of mozzarella. Delicious! Of course the regular pizza is fabulous too!

Worst pizza ever. I should’ve read Stephanie’s review before coming here. I had just worked 15 hours nonstop preparing for a conference at Westport and I hadn’t eaten dinner. It was late and Bread Co was closed. I stopped in here and liked that I could get pizza by the slice because I didn’t wait a whole pizza. I walked in and was pointed towards a menu. I decided to order the slice, salad and soda combo and breadsticks. After waiting about 10 minutes the waitress finally took my order. But they were out of breadsticks. And to go soda cups. No substitutions were offered. 10 minutes later, I was asked if I wanted a soda to drink there. I pointed to the window and asked if that was my food waiting. It was — so I didn’t get the soda. Went back to my room and took it out. The pizza looked awful. I took a bite. Yep, awful. Gross. Gummy gross cheese. Tasteless crust and sauce. Luckily the salad was edible! I’d not recommend this to anyone.

Stopped by West Port pizza with a fellow transplant tired of St. Louis style(stop throwing things at me native St. Louisians!) and enjoyed some semi-NY style pizza. As another reviewer commented the slices are not as big as your head and a classic«flip and fold» was not possible. But the pizza was quality and unlike some NY establishments I could get a slice of anything I wanted! I went with a Canadian bacon and green pepper which was hot and cheesy. Good toppings and sauce was.fair.I prefer mine with a bit more garlic(which makes me super popular post-lunch!) crust was crisp and slightly buttery at the finish. Service at lunch time was perfect(but if busy I could see it being an issue). All in all a good place to stop in for a slice if you are looking for something casual and flavorful.

Top notch. Ordered a green pepper, black olive & Canadian bacon calzone with a side salad. Salad was great, calzone was delicious. Great seasoning on the crust, great flavor in all of the ingredients. The person I went with ordered the turkey BLT, which looked delicious, and I can attest that the toast part, which is the only part I sampled, actually was delicious. Staff was very friendly.

a place right by my work, I go there in the afternoon to just have a slice of NYC style pizza. the service has been good. The people are nice and I even get to watch soccer on the big screen during my lunch break which is great! the pizza is tasty and not too pricey at all. i would not say its amazing but for a descent pizza for lunch and jus something to eat when bored this is more than good.

One word: Ugh. Horrible pizza, horrible service, horrible EVERYTHING. I went here on a Thursday night with some friends, and the place was about half full. About typical for a Thursday night, I suppose. We visited before the smoking ban was in effect, which was a huge mistake. It smelled dirty and smoky. Yuck. Strike one. The place was only half full, but all of the tables had dirty dishes on them. The bartender, instead of coming out to bus a table for us, simply told us to seat ourselves. Gross. We sat down at a half-bussed table. Strike two. The waitress came out after maybe 5 minutes and quickly introduced herself. She looked frazzled and disheveled. She handed us water and took our order: garlic cheese bread to start, and ham and pineapple pizza for the entrée. The garlic cheese bread came out rather quickly. It was edible, but it wasn’t what I would call good. It was literally french bread with melted cheese and garlic powder on it. I think Pizza Hut or Papa John’s could have done a better job. The pizza came out shortly afterwards. Everyone knows that corny line about pizza being like sex, so I’ll save it and say this instead: this was probably the WORST pizza I’ve ever had in my life. It was supposed to be New York style, and the only thing Westport Pizza Co got right was the size. The slices were huge. But they were also soggy. And flavorless. And when I took a bite, the cheese all slid right off. Also? The sauce tasted like spaghetti-o’s. The cornmeal crust was NASTY. Should I continue? Strike three. The waitress didn’t come back out to our table for a while. Not until we flagged her down and asked for the check. Andy asked her if one of her fellow waitresses had called off that night, and if that was the reason why she was the ONLY one working. «Nope,» she said. «I’m always the only waitress here.» Wow. Just close this place already.

They claim to serve NYC pizza here. Was in the area for drinks at Ozzie’s when it was still around with a couple of friends and we felt we needed some NYC pizza and went across the street. There are better NYC pizza’s in St. Louis but if you need something quick and are in the area, this will kind of satisfy your craving. It’s not exactly NYC pizza but they do try their best. The slices aren’t as big as NYC slices but you can still fold the pizza. There is grease on the pizza which helps with the authenticity. They do serve alcohol here too so we continued drinking. They have a wide variety of pizza’s here so you don’t have to get the classic pepperoni slice.

I have downgraded this place. the last two times I have been in, the service is lackluster and super slow to say the least. Also, I tried the St Louis style pizza today… and it was thin crust but they use mozzarella. Not St Louis style, thanks. Booo…

My wife and I dined here because we bought one of those half off gift certificates from a local radio station. We went to the restaurant at about 5:45 and there was only 1 other couple sitting at a table in the restaurant. It took about 10 minutes for somebody to come over to our table for the 1st time to take our order. We probably should have left at that time, but decided to stay. We ordered a side salad, bread sticks and a pizza. The service only got worse. In total, the meal took us over 1.5 hours. The pizza did not come with the toppings we ordered but I didn’t even get a chance to complain. I do not go to a pizza place to have a 1.5 hour meal. While we were eating our meal we were treated to a burping contest by the family sitting at the table next to us. This just shows you how much of a quality place this is. The food itself was pretty good. The hand tossed pizza was very tasty but just slightly on the greasy side. The salad and bread sticks were both good, but nothing spectacular. Due to our first experience here we’ll just do takeout next time we want food from Westport Pizza Company.

Walked into the place this afternoon with a couple of friends. There weren’t very many people around — one bar guest & one table of four at about 4:30pm-ish. Kevin, the server/bartender, greeted us at our chosen table by taking a drink order, dropping off drinks and taking a food order, and then letting us know that he’d have to cash us out because his shift was ending in about 15 minutes. What? Who does that, really? I’ve never in ten+ years of being IN the service industry told ANYONE that, and it’s the first time I’ve ever HEARD it said to me. I hoped his relief would save the experience, but she wasn’t any better — when going to get a water refill for me, it took at least five minutes(with now one new bar guest and one new table — a total of twelve people in the entire building) which she then asked Kevin(who was still there… I thought he was leaving?!) to drop off(apparently she wanted to continue chatting with her bar regular rather than drop off the five minute water). Needless to say that I only tipped out of respect for karma… and felt like I was tipping the counter person at McDonald’s for handing me my bag of food. The food was decent, really… the kitchen staff handle their business. However, it’s the SERVICE experience that’s totally soured me to this place. If I go back here at all, at least I know what to expect going in. Maybe this is why their current happy hour special offers a free pizza with a drink purchase? Hrm… I didn’t see any manager types anywhere at all, so there’s probably very little followup to guest complaints either.

West Port Pizza is a cute little pizza shop in West Port Plaza that has great patio seating. They are in an alley of Westport [I know that sounds bad, but it isn’t], and are therefore really well shaded. We met up with some friends who wanted to eat there. My husband and I already ate, so we got beers while they got slices of pizza. It was such tasty pizza that they insisted that I try it, and so I took a bite of the pepperoni. It was very good, with a flavorful dough and sauce. It wasn’t too greasy, but had just the right amount of grease to it. This was just a fun place to get some cheap food, sit back, drink some beer and people watch. You can buy the pizza by the slice here, which was really great for the couple we were with because they don’t like the same toppings.
