We have bad experience with the food last night. We ordered duck fried rice. It was very salty and not consumable. Our server was very helpful. She made sure we didn’t get charged for. We ordered shrimp fried rice to substitute that regardless.

Spent two days at Foxwoods for my birthday and settled on Red Lantern to celebrate. We started with soup which was amazing. The white miso with wilted sake was well worth the above standard price for miso. Friend had a maki entrée which she loved. I had the General Tao’s chicken which was wonderfully flavorful as apposed to being overly tangy-sweet. But it was not worth $ 26. Service was sub par at best. Waitress disappeared for large chunks of time being no where to even be seen to track down. When we arrived hostess said there were no available tables and we would have to sit in the lounge. We agreed as to not have to wait or come back later. Interestingly multiple tables remained empty the entire time we ate there. At no point did our waitress offer to move us. We dropped multiple hints about it being my birthday the next day hoping we might be given a free dessert or at least the option to have an extra special delivery from waitstaff, but it never came. If not for the overpriced entrees and poor service this would be a great place.

Came here after a long day of meeting to catch up with coworkers. Tuesday’s are ‘Tiki Tuesdays’ with Scorpion bowls for only $ 25. Food is good, we ordered a bunch of appetizers and shared amongst 5 people. One tip, stay away from the chicken. All seafood and pork dishes are amazing, chicken not so much. Also is connected to Shrine nightclub in Foxwoods. The restaurant has the same décor as the club, and after 9 the music starts pumping in both.

Red lantern has excellent food. Similar to the cuisine at Shrine. Solid sushi, noodles, and meat dishes. Dance music plays while you are eating which is fun. Service can be a bit slow but everything else is quite good.

The food was good but the service was terrible. We had a large party and had to do the prix fix menu with no choice… also there was a 3% administration fee that we were not notified about in advance… the staff were rude and not accommodating… our bill was over $ 1000 dollars and the food we got was not worth that… it would have been cheaper to order al a carte… the prix fix menu is a sham and a ploy to make money… I will never dine here again!

I really enjoyed dinner here before our concert at Foxwoods! It was nice to experience it as a restaurant vs nightclub when it turns to Shrine at night. I would HIGHLY recommend the Mai Tai(it might be one of my favorites, smooth but sharp) and the honey pork buns. OMG — they are delicious! You’ll get 2 of them which is perfect to share for an app with someone else. I got the beef and broccoli for my entrée which was a bit standard though my dinnermate got Generals chicken and it was really outstanding! We had a bad experience with a rowdy group near us and the manager was incredibly accommodating to remedying the situation — so much so we got a dessert pupu platter! The green tea macaroons and banana bread pudding… you can’t go wrong!

Came in on a Friday night because the other Chinese restaurant in Foxwoods is gross and we were so happy we decided to switch our choice. We ordered shrimp tempura, lobster rangoons and lettuce wraps. They came out super quick and were delicious. Our waiter Chad was nice too. Service is a little slow but to be fair I think he was seated a few tables at once so no worries there. Definitely can’t wait to come back and try more options off the menu. Loved the comfy couch to sit on while I ate as well and the décor is nice too.

The atmosphere was definitely inviting and the staff was amazing. Super funny and had good conversations with them. The food was solid, and overall this is what you expect from a restaurant where you drop down $ 30 per entrée. I would definitely recommend this is the place you eat at when visiting Foxwoods. We walked all around trying to find a place, and we made the right choice by ending up here.

This place is absolutely delicious! Very nice atmosphere and decoration. The sushi was tasty and fresh. The skewer appetizer was delicious as well. Waitstaff is great! I would absolutely come back here next time I come to Foxwoods!

Awesome spot! General Tso Chicken was excellent and the portion was HUGE. Couldn’t even finish the bowl. Loved the tunes and drinks.

The Red Lantern was a nice place to relax before the Marc Anthony concert. Sarah, our waitress was an absolute doll and was very attentive and helpful! All of the food was delicious and unique, except the skewer appetizer. It was a bit tough and lacked flavor. Overall, a great experience!

I’m going to make this quick: Super dark in this place. Kinda cool ambiance, liked the club music. Waiter was really nice. Scorpion bowl was by far the most watered down, overpriced beverage I’ve ever had. It was my birthday and it would’ve been nice to have a real drink. Gluten free General Tso’s chicken?! Yessss!!! Overpriced? Yeeeees! Damn! :-( 3 stars.

Red Lantern is guaranteed to be the most unexpected Asian restaurant you’re likely to dine in. And it also ranks as the most delicious! Sitting atop the Foxwoods ultra chic night club Shrine, you’ll get the hipster vibe of leather couches and large group seating/dining areas in addition to regular booths and tables. And red lanterns complete the dramatic décor. But come for some of the freshest and most inspired Asian palate pleasers in New England. The menu is vast but I can’t get past the Lo mein and fried rice. And while I don’t eat sushi, Red Lantern makes me wish I did. Based on the gorgeous presentation and volume of sushi they seem to serve, doesn’t look like you can go wrong here. Get your groove on and enjoy a fun night out in the unique and inspired Red Lantern. Fresh and refreshing atmosphere and food awaits.

Very cool! Food was great. Service excellent. Lots of people watching and music from club below pumping up into restaurant above. Tables close together which made it even more fun! Got to know the two couples next to us really well. Did some chair dancing with them. Lobster dinner was cool, but you have to pick at it… Go Samari steak instead… Or Salmon. Both awesome! Management is great, make sure to say hello to Frank and Ben…

I am a big fan and I love this place and the sushi they have. I drive quite a bit to eat here with my wife. The challenge last weekend, I could not get anyone to answer and when I messaged the place, they got back with me the next day. Did not work. Ate at the food court. Not really happy, but I still love the place. Maybe next time.

I was not impressed with anything at Red Lantern. Not the food, the décor, or the staff. We arrived for a friends birthday dinner this past weekend and were sat at a table in the back of the empty restaurant. We all felt a little far away from each other at the round table and asked if we could be moved to a table along the wall. The staff seemed very confused be this request and went to ask more staff about the possibility of moving us. Mind you there were about 15 empty tables around us. Finally we were sat at the table we requested. And then began the wait. In the dark. Did I mention this place is almost pitch black? I had to use my phone to see the menu. After about 20 minutes someone came over and took our drink orders. My friend ordered a Pepsi and actually went the entire meal before she received her drink(after asking several random servers that were waiting on us to get her one). Our food came out quickly but no one enjoyed their meal. I ordered the deep fried shrimp shu mai. The sauce on top of it was so disgusting I don’t even know how to describe it. It was so sour and bitter and definitely not a sauce that was well paired with the light shrimp dumplings. I also ordered some chicken and beef skewers which at $ 14 were teeny tiny and the chicken was all dark meat. They also had a terrible sauce they were smothered in. Almost every dish was frowned upon at our table except for a single sushi roll that one girl ordered and the lobster rangoon which I personally didn’t taste. When the large check arrived we were quick to pay and leave. One of our servers was friendly but we were never given his name. The hostess and shift manager(I’m going to assume that was her title) were kind of snotty and made it seem like every request was like pulling teeth. No thank you Red Lantern. I politely decline any future invitation to dine with you.

After big plans for a show fell through, me and two friends went to Red Lantern for the promise of All You Can Eat Sushi. Is it worth the hype? Yes. First off this place has an amazing ambiance and décor. The lighting is dark, intimate, and really cool. There is a strange intimacy of tables being practically on top of each other but still private and little if any noise overlap. They give you a list of rolls you can order as part of the endless sushi and bring you out two at first(cut up into like 8 pieces each) and then I believe one roll at a time. I would go through which ones I ordered but It doesn’t really matter since between the table I tried them all and they were all great. My favorite ones had tempora in the names and had an added crunch. I also got a duck bun appetizer which was delicious as well but maybe not smart to do with endless sushi on offer and brought my total bill over $ 40 once tax and tip was added.(the sushi was $ 25 and the app like another $ 10). On another non endless sushi night I wouldn’t mind getting them again. The service was good as well, pretty attentive and my water glass was never empty for too long. Definite recommend.

While on business, a group of us decided to come here because we wanted some decent priced drinks at a hotel ;) Monday is the Mai Tai and Bao special! Both were delicious! The bartender kicks butt! I had a pork belly Bao that was out of this world tasty and tender. The atmosphere was laid back and lit just right. I had sushi too, don’t remember what kind but it tasted fresh. Was it authentic? Probably not. It is fusion, you can’t expect exact authenticity. They have lounges throughout the place and a night club downstairs. It was closed… obviously, it was a Monday. I recommend for a group that likes to be loud although they will sit you away from the romantic, cozy area ;)

Out of all the Asian restaurants/noodle bars in Foxwoods, this is hands down the best. More of an Asian fusion, but still best in this casino. Don’t bother going anywhere else for Asian food. I tried the shrimp bao bun, crunchy roll, shrimp fried rice, and lobster ragoon. All had a lot of flavor and satisfied my taste buds. The waitress was awesome, she was really friendly and reminded me of Drew Barrymore in 50 First Dates, just an awesome personality. I will definitely return if I am here visiting Foxwoods.

Something must have happened to Red Lantern’s Unilocal page because I’m almost positive I’ve reviewed them. They’ve been around for quite awhile since renaming themselves from Shrine, so… I don’t get it. Usually I don’t have amazing things to say about Red Lantern. I love sushi, but their fish is just not up to my standards and is a bit overpriced. I do like the layout of the restaurant. But I stopped in on Wednesday night and sat at the bar for their $ 25AYCE deal, and was waited on by one of the best bartenders I’ve ever seen. Her name? Kara Z. At first I was thinking, oh, she’s just friendly. Then as I watched her work I realized she is just great at her job. Nobody’s drinks ever went empty, she had a smile on her face, and she never let any frustrations show. THAT is the sign of a great bartender. This review was going to be 3 stars, hell it probably wouldn’t have gotten written, but the service from Kara Z. was that good! I might even have to come back for one more meal before I leave Foxwoods.
