This place at one time(around 5 – 6 years ago) was pretty good. The fried food is mediocre at best– clams, shrimp, haddock all taste pretty mediocre– they need to step it up– I refuse to pay the prices they want for the quality I receive. Disappointed last 2 times.

Cooke’s is solid. It’s not the BEST, but it’ll cure your fix for some seafood. The lobster rolls are an approachable size at a reasonable price and they come with 2 sides… the french fries are PERFECT. The cole slaw is tasty and the chowder is pretty decent as well. You can get beer or wine, which of course I do. It’s a walk up and order and they bring you your food type place. Service is pretty quick.

This Cooke’s has a different owner than the original Cooke’s in Hyannis. Hyannis is by far a much better choice.

We have always considered Cooke’s very good if you want it fried and you don’t mind disposable cutlery and paper plates for a &17−20 dinner. Went a couple of days ago, and quality was poor … In the 2-star range. May have been an off night. Hope so

I am not an expert on Cape Cod seafood. However, the lobster roll is as good as we have ever had. The chowder is good and the kids menu is great. We ate dinner at 7 and it was not too crowded. It is set up to seat a goos crowd. The staff are friendly and the dining room is modern, large, clean and comfortable. I would go back again.

If you are looking for fried clams this is the place. HUGE portions — could easily feed 2 — and very lightly battered. No service — order at the counter and take to your table. Not a clam shack environment — more of a chain restaurant look — very generic.

Cooke’s Seafood in Hyannis is the best — not just food but service. For a wedding rehearsal dinner our son wanted take-out seafood. Denise was great with suggestions and getting it organized. It was ready on time, perfectly packaged to keep hot, delicious, and a huge success.

Disappointed in very bland overcooked onion rings. Mushy inside. No flavor including the batter. Fish very greasy. Cole slaw was not in a cup, so it ran all over the french fries… soggy ugh. They use to be good! What happened?

We have been going to Cooke’s since there was only one location located in Hyannis. So when they opened one in Mashpee we were thrilled. The food has always been good there up until the last few years. For our latest experience we got the Fried Whole Belly Clams and a Fried Sole Platter. The clams came out chewy and rubbery, the fried sole was very fishy smelling to the point where my wife thought it may have been previously frozen. On top of that the prices just seem to keep going up and the portions are getting even smaller. Those two meals cost us 42 dollars without drinks. Needless to say we are done giving this location any more chances. I would rather spend my money at Seafood Sams in Sandwich or Capt’n Frostys in Dennis.

I love their food! Excellent value and great food! I return multiple times over the summer! I am never disappointed! The specials are delicious and you can’t go wrong with their fried clams!

Horrible. Only went because we saw good reviews. 18 – 25 Dollar fish meals on paper plates and saturated with butter. Don’t do it.

Our usual for fried seafood for years Not any more Paid $ 18 for a half pint of bland undercooked and overbreaded clams Calamari — similarly undercooked and mealy Baked stuffed shrimp were cold as was stuffing We were surprised that the place was empty Now we know why Too expensive for poorly cooked and small portions Won’t be coming back to this location any time soon. It’s worth the drive to Seafood Sam’s instead.

If I were to just judge this place for the lobster roll I ate I would give it 5 stars. There were two options, the 4 ounce version and the 8 ounce version. There should really be a 6 ounce version too since the 4 is slightly small and the 8 ounce is over kill; and most people don’t want to spend $ 25 on just the sandwich. Anyway, I ate the 4 ounce portion and it was very good and price well! They got the bun perfectly crisp on the grill and it had a nice piece of lettuce on it. The lobster meat was also very good and had a good amount of mayo on it. If you went with the larger portion you’d have to go lighter on the mayo because it would be overkill and too rich. I think the prices were reasonable because the place was very generic looking inside and it wasn’t full service. Overall it was a very good lobster roll that was reasonably priced. If you’re looking for ocean views and top notch service this isn’t your place.

My partner says Cooke’s looks like the«Kelly’s Roast Beef» of seafood. It does have a sort of chainy, generic look to it(though there are only two). What it lacks in clam shack charm, it makes up for with a very nice staff, and a very good jumbo lobster roll filled with really good meat, and just enough mayo on a griddled bun. The clam chowder, though creamy and thick like i like it is forgettable. Not awful, but i don’t know if saw any clams, it’s more like potato chowder. The fries were very good too. I’d go back, because of the lobster roll and to try some other things, it’s certainly not the worst out there on the Cape!

If you like fried food, food that will stay with you for hours, at a reasonable price well you have found it. This restaurant has a great variety of fried foods! It has a large assortment of fried fish, decent hamburgers and a full bar to wash it down with. There fish and chips comes with coleslaw and the portions are quite generous. They have outstanding onion rings. And if you’re looking for something that’s not fried try their grilled tuna sandwich. Good place for kids, can fit large groups and it won’t bust the pocketbook.

Clean space and always fresh! Full liquor license for the guests that want just more than beer or wine. I Love the casual atmosphere here. The staff is friendly even with my picky children. It’s a great bargain for the quality and portions that you get. I always try to get to Cooke’s when I’m in the area.

Really average and overpriced fried seafood. Not horrible by any means, but nothing great either. The batter is all the same whether you order fish or clams, and doesn’t have any particular seasoning or flavor. This could be forgivable if Cooks was tiny beach-side fry shack… But its a full sized restaurant, and it charges top price. You can expect to spend $ 15.99 or more for a single serving of mediocrity. Oh yeah, and you get to eat it in a dining room that’s pretty much a cafeteria. Bottom line — For tourists who don’t know what really excellent seafood is supposed to taste like.

Another great order at the counter cape cod place. Ordered the broiled scrod and scallops with crab stuffing. This was basically a pot pie aluminum tin filled with scrod and scallops and buttery sauce, topped with a tasty crab stuffing. This reminding me of an awesome hybrid of scallops and clams casino. Super tasty and came with a baked potato and veggies. For $ 15 on this dish, you cannot go wrong. Onion rings were spot on as well.

If you go into this place expecting a Legal Seafood’s type décor, you’re off your rocker. It’s a seafood place on the Cape, what do you expect? It’s about the food, not about the decorations. We aren’t talking a high end luxury atmosphere The portions are hefty and the clams are always great. The onion rings are awesome and they pile them high. It’s great food for reasonable money and when I’m on the Cape this is almost always where I go for food. I’d recommend this place, but don’t expect it to be a crazy luxurious layout.
