Best pizza on the planet! I’ve always been a big fan of their pizza. I haven’t branched out too much here because he pizza keeps me coming back.

First time visit — they brought warm bread with a great garlic spread. Enjoyed the mushroom ravioli with Chianti sauce. The Calamari was ok — the marinara sauce was really nice. Plan to go back.

This was our first time to Pitrelli’s. We had a wonderful Caesar salad, cheese ravioli and rigatoni in vodka pomodoro sauce, and a side of meatballs. All of the food was delicious. The service was attentive and friendly. A nice neighborhood restaurant.

I want to love this place but it has been a miss the last three times. We hadn’t been back in 2 years so we thought we’d give it another try and it was very average again. Let me start by saying Masonites love this place. I always hear people rave about Pitrelli’s. After my last visit, it dawned on me that Pitrelli’s caters to the generic Midwesterner looking for familiar Italian. Pitrelli’s is basically for the Olive Garden crowd that wants to go somewhere local. Pitrelli’s is generic Italian! Seriously, they don’t even make there own pasta. For all we know they’re selling us frozen Barilla. You’ll get all your typical generic Italian dishes like Spaghetti, Lasagna, Tortellini, Chicken Parmesan and Ravioli here. The décor is also fitting for Grandma, very dated with old carpet. There wine selection was decent but the wait staff couldn’t even pronounce most of them. It was nice to see a Primitivo from Puglia since most of the patrons probably prefer Merlot or Cab.

First time here, and wasn’t anything special. For price, portion size, and taste, either Carraba or Buca di Beppo are better choices. The atmosphere was dated and the carpeting throughout looked old, dingy, and dirty. Huge wine selection, but server was very inexperienced to give a pairing recommendation. I had the chicken parmesan. The spaghetti was boxed, and the marinara was below average. The chicken breast was a large portion, and hand breaded, but very greasy and left a flavor of nothing but oil in your mouth. In turn, it made the breading very soggy. In the future, I will travel the additional block and just go to Apontes.

Our first experience and definitely our last. We are a bit biased since we lived in Italy for 2 years and have recently returned to the area. We ordered 2 pizzas and a plate of pasta with marinara sauce. One pizza was advertised as «margherita with buffalo mozzarella». The cheese was fresh but definitely not made with buffalo milk. The pizza sauce was incredibly thick and contained too much oregano. It was overpowering. The other pizza was so incredibly greasy. The pasta w meatballs was awful. The meatballs tasted frozen and had a weird crust on them. Almost as if they were frozen, reheated but burnt during the process The sauce dos not taste fresh, was much too thick and had too many spices/herbs. You could not taste the tomatoes at all. Very disappointed

Pitrellis is everything you could want in a family Italian restaurant, a warm atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, and wonderful food. Virtually everything on the menu is made from scratch. Previous reviews trashed the salads, but my salad was wonderful and crisp. The bread served us was delicious. My wife’s pizza and my spaghetti and meatballs were all we could expect — delicious. We both cook at home and Pitrelli’s food exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for a place for heart warming food and wonderful conversations go to Pitrelli’s.

This WAS my favorite Italian restaurant until 2 days ago when we went there. Everything was wrong that night. Starting with the Caesar salad that had limp romaine. The salad was delivered with the bread and entrée. We went from having nothing to having everything. I had the veal tortalini that has a very flavorful wine reduction sauce. I have the same thing every time I go there it is usually very very good. Not this time. I’m not sure but I think it was chicken broth. Not much flavor. I complained and got lasagna instead. They brought lasagna noodles with a ricotta filling between with spaghetti sauce poured over. No mozzarella. It had not been baked! At this point I could not believe it. This was my favorite Italian restaurant! We paid but then asked to speak to the manager. I wish I had asked to speak to her before we had left our table. I don’t think she could believe my description but she did say the chef was out sick. Whoever filled in as cook did not know how to cook. She gave us a gift card for 25. So we will try it again. I will modify this if it is better then. As it is I would have given 1 star but tempered my 5 star down to 3 because of this visit.

Four adults. Second experience. Never again. Ten ravioli’s spread across two plates plus a brownie came to $ 50. The ravioli were barely warmed, not prepared fresh, and not particularly tasty. I’m an average home cook — food has to be better than what I can do to rate — especially at these prices. The Chicken Simpatico was unsympathetic in flavor. This guest left it largely uneaten. The pizza looks great but is less flavorful than take-out. On top of the poor food quality, the service was annoying. We all felt like we were at a lunch diner — lots of smiles and enthusiasm, but rush, rush, rush. Not fine dining service. I stopped eating my tepid braised short rib ravioli and our server boxed it before anyone else was finished. The styrofoam just sat on the table, instead of being bagged and tucked away. It is clear this place appeals to some. But for others it is a true disappointment and doesn’t showcase Italian food well at all. Cheesecake Factory pasta is a step above.

Quite decent. Our 12-person crew came in mid-week for dinner. We were given a table in a private room in back, a nice attentive waiter was right there for us. Wine was offered, the waiter’s knowledge of the wine seemed appropriate. Orders were taken in a timely manner. 11 of 12 diners seemed to really enjoy their meals. Ignore the 12th — she’s a complainer anyway. Why only three stars? We found ants in more than one salt shaker. When it was pointed out the the waiter, his response was«it happens». No apology, nada. Honestly, I’d deduct more than two stars for this treatment but the food was decent enough that it merits what we gave it.

First time here yesterday. First let me say I will return — however I ordered a dish that was just not what I thought it would be. Sausage & shrimp with peppers and pasta with a red sauce. Sauce was more soupy than I expected. Fine if I’m eating claims but didn’t expect it in this Dish. The meats were not grilled first and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The service was outstanding and the place seems like a really cool spot. Old school Italian. I’ll return and update review. Plan to have a more traditional dish next time.

Took the entire family for dinner on a Saturday evening. All said, the Meal was average. Some items better than others. Stay away from anything with meat stuffed in it — rather Boyardeeish. The meat stuffing was ground up into a paste — strange consistency if that kind of thing bothers you. The sauces are done well with a nice homemade variety. Be sure and spend time talking to your waiter about the sauce options. Nice atmosphere but décor is done rather cheaply with plywood booth benches. As mentioned by another reviewer — try the sauce sampler before ordering your main course.

First of all, the positives: We were greeted by the owner of the restaurant, something I always appreciate. The service was great, our server was very kind and helpful. It helped that the place was not busy, which is fine with me. Now onto the not-so-good part: we were four adults and my 7-year-old daughter. Since my husband and his dad decided to share an appetizer, I ordered a small house salad for my daughter and I to share. The vinaigrette was extremely salty! And this is coming from a person who likes salty food. We could barely eat it. I ordered two appetizers as my entrée: Small Caprese salad and crab cakes. The Caprese salad was okay, a bit too much pepper but I still liked it. Now the crab cakes had an «off» flavor and texture to them. I could tell they were homemade, but inside they were slimy and lacked flavor. I ate only one. The price for these two small appetizers was $ 19! What a ripoff! My husband had the veal ravioli which was ok, but nothing to rave about. For a $ 18 dish of pasta, I would expect a lot more flavor. My in-laws ordered the shrimp scampi and the pasta with alfredo sauce. I did not try those, but they said they were«ok». In conclusion, expensive prices for such bland food. I’m glad we were invited by the in-laws because it was my husband’s birthday… had I have to pay for that, I would have said something. Not going back.

Very good Italian local, family owned restaurant. Wonderful, friendly and helpful server. Quaint, Tuscan style decorations. Delicious food. Herb butter… yummy! All their salad dressings and pasta sauces are homemade. Really enjoyed the lemon & garlic vinaigrette on a dinner salad. Lasagna was fabulous! And chicken parmigiana was tender and juicy. We had ours topped with Rosa sauce. Mmmmmm. Definitely reco this local gem. Outdoor seating available too. And can book reservations on open table.

Third on our whirlwind CincyCon culinary tour was Pitrelli’s. While Jules and I had discussed a return to visit to our beloved Straits of Malacca, we were both in the mood for something heartier and pasta appealed to both of our palates. Now, take this for what it’s worth: we visited on prom night. Pitrelli’s was filled with tuxedo and dress-clad teenagers, eager to spend mommy and daddy’s money on a dinner out. As such, our meals took significantly longer than I’d really expected for any restaurant, particularly at 8:30 in the evening. With that said, I was fairly disappointed with Pitrelli’s, especially given the rave reviews. Prices at Pitrelli’s feel particularly exorbitant. A simple dish such as Chicken Parmesan costs over $ 17, with most entrees well over $ 20. I opted for a simple angel hair pasta with garlic-basil marinara and a side of meatballs, which still cost $ 15. And, while my pasta was cooked competently, the sauce was fairly bland and my meatballs(while obviously homemade) were overdone. Now, Pitrelli’s does have one great thing going for it: a voluminous wine list. While I do love some wine, I didn’t feel like shelling out as much as they were asking for a simple glass of riesling or moscato. Again, too much. If nothing else, Pitrelli’s seems like they’re going for the«40– or 50– something WASP» market, which they have cornered. That’s not me, and that doesn’t interest me. Pitrelli’s just can’t stand to the face of places like Mamma DiSalvos or Galo’s. I probably won’t be back, when there are better options in the area.

One word… AMAZING! I’m so happy we went there tonight, everything was incredible! We got the pizza as a starter and it was delicious. The Cesar salad was followed by the spaghetti and meatballs with spicy sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meals and you can tell the food is made with love. We drove from Fort Mitchell Kentucky and the only bummer was we were too stuffed to try any dessert! Hey have an Outdoor area which is comfortable and private. Shout out to the staff! They were on it tonight! Two thumbs up and keep up the great work! This is our new go to Italian place!

My husband and I decided on Italian and looked up restaurants on Unilocal. We gave this one a try. The food was fresh and yummy but the overall service stinker our waiter never really came to check on us expect for when he had other tables around us. The restaurant is big and the décor reminded me of a funeral home. We would only go back for the food. But more than likely we won’t.

Made our first visit this past week. We got there around 5pm and were able to get seats at the bar to relax and eat after a tough week. Kenny our bartender was excellent. He was very attentive and also kept us on our toes with his jabs! Loved it! We had the antipasto appetizer and dinners with a bottle of chianti on wine night. Food and wine were great as was the experience. We will be back soon for sure!

Food was ok but overpriced for the small portions that are served. Bread was too hard to eat. What I really didn’t like was when I asked if it was possible to get a vegetable instead of the pasta with my chicken parm, I was told sure. Then on my bill there was a $ 3.50 charge for what I thought was just going to be a substitution. I would not have made the change had I known about the extra charge!

My wife and I went there for v-day, mostly due to the fact that it was the only place that had an open reservation for the time we needed it. We hadn’t ever been before and we’re really excited to try a new place. We arrived a couple of minutes late, and we were seated almost immediately. The first thing that we noticed was that our table was incredibly loud. We were expecting quiet and quant atmosphere. The room was closed off to the rest of restaurant and didn’t have much to muffle or break up the noise of the other patrons. We started off with wine and toasted ravioli. The wine was a recco from the waiter and was pretty good. The toasted ravioli wasn’t horrible, but seemed more like something you get in a bag from the freezer section of a grocery store than something homemade. After the ravioli, we decided to forgo entrée’s and just got a family style salad and a margarita pizza. Both of which were just ok. The salad was fresh but boring. The pizza was rustic but a little bland. The food alone probably warranted 3 stars, but I felt that it was a little pricy for what it was and knocked it back to 2.

I expected this place to be really good, but I wasn’t that pleased. Bread came with the meal and they were quick to refill it which was nice. But when we asked what they recommended they told us the pizza. That threw me off because this place looked like a nice Italian place and if your a nice Italian place I would expect there to be something else other than pizza that you could recommend to me. Anyway, my mom got a pasta dish and I got the pizza just to try it. My mom was not happy with her spaghetti, she said it tasted very bland. My pizza on the other hand was pretty good, not amazing though. To top it off the bill was pretty expensive for what we got also.

Amazing place to eat. The ambiance is amazing. The staff is pretty good. But, the food… oh the food. It’s amazing. Seriously… best Italian food I’ve had… ever! Go… eat…be merry. Take a date… the joint is sexy as hell. Also…make a reservation… you’re not a barbarian.

This place is a local gem in Mason. They have a good wine selection with a variety of prices. We started with the crab cakes. These are amazing. They are a must try. For entrees, we had the gnocchi with Alfredo, chicken florentine, veal tortellacci, and sausage and peppers. I am used to a potato gnocchi, so the pasta gnocchi was a little bland for our taste. The veal tortellacci and sausage and peppers were also a little bland. The chicken florentine was tasty and the best entrée. The deserts are a must try, there’s not a bad one.
