Save the bagel bakers!
As you know, they have been disappearing off the landscape in Manhattan and queens! If you are a bagel fan, you know that not everyone can make them. They do them right, and they’ve been at this location for decades.
The bagels are chewy, dense, crisp on the outside with a slightly moist interior.
I particularly like their cinn raisin, pumpernickel, sesame, everything bagels.
Their flat bagels were not good, very dry maybe an off day. Stick with the classics. Sandwiches were selling briskly.

I’ve been going to this place for bagels since i started working around Maspeth. The guys are awesome, and know how to make a mean bagel, even though its not that hard to screw up a bagel.
But what I really wanna express my joy for, is their salad station. I had it for the first time today, Bacon, Chicken, Cranberry, blue cheese, cucumber, roasted peppers and mixed greens of course with thousand Island Dressing.
I am pleased to say all the ingredients were fresh, and tasty. My salad was prepared quickly and I had a great time eating it =].

Good, solid bagels. Their scallion cream cheese is delicious and I don’t think I’ll be going back to plain cream cheese on my bagels now (it seems so boring!). They also have good almond croissants/​pockets. Staff is always nice and friendly.
The only thing that bothers me is that they close really early, around 3:30. And I recently came in at 12:30 PM only to be told they had run out of plain bagels. They open around 5:30AM.

This is actually CS Bagel. CS stands for something like Chung Su — I believe this place is owned by Asians — and all the staff seem to be Latino — odd combination for a bagel shop — –but as a lifelong NY’er who knows her bagels — I can tell you — CS bagels rock! Great, chewy, old style boiled bagels. Fresh spreads, good coffee… in the am the service can be a tad slow — but otherwise — this place is great!
