It isn’t often that I’ll opt for a burger, and even less so that I actually finish said burger… but I inhaled the entire Moody Bleu burger before my boyfriend finished half of his! Port wine glaze, topped with bleu cheese and onion rings — unbelievably good! Cottage fries were also great, heck even the coffee was delicious! Great vibe, great service, and amazing food! We will most definitely be back!

I really enjoyed the copper bar, has a very warm feeling inside. Just had the happy hour apps, but food was slightly above average, but the service made up for it. I didn’t sit at a table, but would most likely come back to try an entrée

Eh– totally dissatisfied. Keep driving to all American. Smash burger has more flavor. This was so bland and the bun was nothing like artisan. Not even like a brioche. $ 11.50 for a dinky little burger with nothing special to follow up with it. Thanks, but no thanks! On to the next burger joint. Where’s the flavor???

Another amazing burger place in Massapequa, are you kidding me? My review is solely based on take out. We wanted burgers but wanted something less greasy than Five Guys. My sister suggested this place and I’m so glad she did! I called in the order and was told the wait would be 30 minutes. Since the place is basically across the street from my house it was an easy pick up. We checked the bag before we came home and realized my burger was wrong and we were missing an order of fries. I wasn’t thrilled but they were so quick to fix the order and fire us new fries and kept our food warm. They also took my burger off the bill which was very nice. I’ll say the place is a bit expensive but the food was phenomenal. The burgers were massive. The fries were crispy. The onion rings with blue moon cheese sauce was a revelation. My burger was topped with fried onion straws and pulled pork. It was at least a pound and a half of food. It was cooked perfectly and the salt from the fried onion straws were excellent. I really need to come in and sit down for a meal here. Everyone was so nice and the food was great! The bar was cute, too!

Finally got a chance to check it out. Always crowded on weekends. Sadly disappointed as I had the Italian burger which is the daily special on Sunday’s. It had the consistency of puréed meat and the fries were covered in salt. My wife’s salad was nothing more than ordinary. Will not be running back.

We went for lunch for the first time, I have to say the ambiance was beautiful and the service was exceptional. The food was perfectly proportioned and prepared very very well. It has an upscale feel with a basic burger menu with complexity of rare ingredients making the dishes absolutely delish! If u want a burger go there! Only thing I would like to see but won’t stop me from going back is more veggie options on the lunch menu. That’s all. As far as the whole experience, it was great, I highly suggest and will def go back.(Also, it’s a great place to take kids like 12 and up for a classier dining experience that everyone will love without having to settle for garbage fast food… It’s in a class by itself altogether) def for the cool kids, and parents

Had the pleasure of dining here on New Year’s Eve! Sitting down at the table you are given a bowl of popcorn and the ability to order from a selection of different beers. The burgers were great! We just ordered your standard burger but it came with a specialty sauce that I enjoyed very much. Can’t wait to come back!

I love this place. In my opinion, the food is outstanding. I always get the Jive Turkey Burger and it never disappoints. The baked pretzel with brie cheese is an addicting appetizer. The only few things I can say that I’m not crazy about is the place is way too small. Because of that, if you’re sitting at the bar trying to enjoy your meal or drinks, you have people hovering over you as they wait for a table; very annoying. On busy nights like the weekends, I’m mindblown that there is only one bartender who is working her butt off; there should be two. I stopped in last night and it was chaos. Put two bartenders on like you did when you first opened!

I hesitated to try GM burger bar after a bad experience at the syosset Grillfire location owned by the same company. I entered the GM burger bar with an open mind. I kept it simple and ordered their Standard Hamburger. What I received was a great burger with a side of interesting round fries. This hamburger had amazing flavor which was enhanced by an artesian bun. Service and the environment were on point. as well. Long Island has become an area with many interesting, high end, burger options. GM burger bar is another excellent option.

The food here is very good. The service is mediocre. I would definitely recommend this place. I have eaten here twice since they opened and haven’t had any issues. You also don’t get that greasy taste in your mouth after you eat here.

New favorite burger spot! The whole experience is phenomenal. They start you off with a complimentary popcorn peppered with some unusual flavors, but it works! After a few bites, I decided it reminded me of sloppy joe seasoning. Its tasty and gives you something to munch on without filling you up. Now for the burgers… My boyfriend is a huge burger snob, and he can’t get enough of this place. Direct quote–«the worst part of the burger is that with each bite, I get closer to the end!». I only wish they were open a little later. 10pm is a bit early to close if you’re gonna call it a «bar».

If you are going into GM Burger Bar to sit down you are in for a treat. Last night I went to GM Burger Bar and indulged in the Brussel Sprouts for an appetizer. They were absolutely delicious. They also give you popcorn with an amazing buttery flavoring on it. For my meal I had the bacon burger and added cheese. It hit the spot! I would definitely go back.

Went back with husband, niece and nephew and… Check you final bill carefully. I requested extra bacon and was never done but I was charged for it. Manager came to check how was everything and promptly removed a dollar from the bill. My bill was $ 91 and waitress charged me $ 127 so another SNAFU that does not look good. …I have mixed feelings about the place. Can’t honestly say that my last experience was a pleasant one. My group was of 15 people celebrating my husband 60th for lunch. Made the reservation 2to3 weeks in advance for 13⁄14 ppl adding one last person few days before. We are within walking distance from the restaurant so I thought we could not go wrong celebrating at lunch with burgers. The reservation was for Saturday Nov 21st. Before the big surprise I decided to stop by few days before and spoke with hostess. I said«would be nice if you could arrange the table nice… «Hostess told«oh sure no problem. Would you like us to send a brownie?» Any other time I Would have said: YES. But after lunch«all of us are literally walking to our place to have coffee and cake» I said. SONOTHANKS. When the hostess showed me where the party was going to be I was concerned and told her that, «15 ppl are not going to make it in such a small table/booth» I was told then that two extra tables would probably be added. Like an «L» and that the manager was still working things out» by then I couldn’t cancel and tell my friends that we were going someplace else. The day came and sure enough no tables were added. «Fire hazard» I was told. «But we can sit the extra ppl in a separate table» IMAGINETHAT?! ridiculous. Finally we all squeezed in and try to make the best of it. took forever to get water. we never got the basket of popcorn. Cherry on the cake? Burgers were not done right. If at least they had done that right!!! Mine was not medium rare but medium. Others got theirs well done instead of med rare. Isn’t this what you are supposed to be an expert at? Service was very poor… and at the end of the meal they sent not one … But three brownies! Nice gesture but I specifically requested not to do that! Basically did whatever tha’heck they wanted If they wanted they should have opted for complementary burgers for my husband or me. We are a happy, loud bunch and we were celebrating that my husband’s birthday after an illness and the whole thing almost turned out to be a disaster. I think the staff should be ALL informed of how many ppl the restaurant can accommodate.(Instead of blaming the previous manager) and also be more understanding and accommodating.

Don’t bother! No one welcomed us. Sat at the bar and bartender was painfully slow with 3 other people at the bar. 10 minutes to get a drink. Soda was flat in my captain and ginger. No excuse for that. My wife had a bottle of beer which was warm. Menu was pricy and she abandoned us at the bar and disappeared for another 10 minutes without taking our order. We paid for our drinks and left. Awful service!

We love this place! Great selection of burgers and really tasty pickles! Service has always been friendly and attentive. We tend to get there earlier than the crowd and always have a pleasant experience. I believe the chef won first prize for best burger on Long Island a year or so ago and it SHOWS! Can’t get enough of this place!!!

So I finally got to experience GM Burger Bar after awaiting a while for the initial chaos that comes with new restaurant openings to die down. We walked in last night sans reservations, and were seated right away. The place looks huge from the outside, but I noticed it’s fairly small, probably seats 100 people tops. They bring out this popcorn that’s sprinkled with nice spices, so I didn’t mind that it was lukewarm(and it’s better than loading up on bread). Since I haven’t been to the GM in RVC, I was impressed by the variety in their menu. They served anything from southern comforts to tacos to salads. They also had a nice variety of potato sides to choose from, which really, i only come to restaurants for french fries. I must say their glass of wines are priced pretty high for a small restaurant, but I picked a glass of pinot grigio anyway. I scanned the menu and noticed several craft beers available for flights, and different liquors too. I like when a small restaurant gives me a variety of drinks. Now for the food: I ordered their appetizer chicken bites and a side of their shoestring fries. My bf ordered the Juicy Lucy medium, which is a beef-and-bacon-smashed burger with Worcestershire. You had the ability to make your own burger, but the sides are outrageously priced at $ 1.50 for a slice of cheese. My chicken bites were tasteless, and I relied heavily on their dipping sauce to get them a little flavor. My fries were disappointing, as well. They were very thing, yet soggy! That’s always a bummer for me. However, they came with a great dipping chipotle mayo, which added flavor to both the fries and the chicken. I snuck a bite of my bf’s burger, and it was not only almost well-done, but not juicy at all. However, it was delicious. And he didn’t even touch his cottage fries aka tater tots, so I’d maybe suggest a substitution? Overall, I didn’t have the best impression about the food here. However, the service was good, and there were a lot of enticing options on the menu, so I’d definitely come back and give this place another chance.

Ah. The humble hamburger. A staple of backyard barbecues. The child’s wide-eyed dream come true when mom and dad hung a left into the parking lot of McDonalds, Burger King, Wetsons, or All American. Of course, there’s always your favorite diner or even steakhouse where the burger might be larger and juicier. And then there are those places that pile on eclectic toppings. But cut through the mayo, fried spam, seared foie, over easy egg, or uni, and it was still just a burger when all was said and done. So when oh when did it stop being so simple and humble? How did it happen? Who do we blame? Some might be inclined to point a finger at Danny Meyer of Shake Shack fame. He «disrupted» the fast food industry with little more than a serviceable burger. IMHO, nothing extraordinary. Most certainly nothing worth waiting for on a 45-minute line on a boiling hot August day in Madison Square Park. But the line is still there. Who are we to argue with dollar-dollar bills, yo? Chefs with big names couldn’t resist. Flay has his chain of Palaces(also not special). More than one restaurant in NYC will boast some kind of «blend» from now-famous meat distributor, Pat LaFrieda. And please — let’s all be honest — when Daniel Boulud begins stuffing his chopped meat with foie, braised shortribs, and truffles, we are talking about something light years away from a «burger.»(In the spirit of transparency, I have never had LaFrieda’s or DB’s creations… but I’d be happy to try both… very happy on the latter) The fact is we can’t blame any of the above. WE – the general American public — have no one but ourselves to blame. We want weird. We want different. We want it from famous cooks — or even famous meat distributors. But it begs the question: Big, better, best tell me when does it end?(keeping up with the Joneses is tough!) So we now live in a universe that gives birth to places like GM Burger Bar. And we now shoulder the responsibility to do something our parents and grandparents probably never thought about: critique a damn hamburger. And, sorry, if you are a burger place it better well be damn near perfect. The short answer if you are seeking burger perfection, do not look for it at this outpost of GM’s. My wife and I went in for a late-ish lunch on a weekday. The place was fairly packed, but we were seated at a table immediately by a friendly hostess. An equally friendly waiter promptly brought popcorn and menus, the latter was suitably sized with choices with a pub feel and an ample draught and bottled beer selection. Sticking to the beef, you have a choice of an 8oz or 5oz «exclusive» blend(complete mystery what exactly that entails) or an 8oz bacon mashup — exclusive blend blended with bacon. Whatevs. Drawing on my experience that a quarter-pounder is usually more than enough for a burger, we both opt for 5oz selections. My wife keeps it simple with a custom lettuce, tomato, onion, and avocado. I ask about the blackjack burger — specifically, what blackjack sauce is. Turns out it’s their own«exclusive»(that word again) bbq sauce. Topped with candied bacon, pepperjack cheese and hot cherry peppers, I decide to give it a go. A Duvel(for me) and a Stella to wash it all down. Our beers arrive promptly. Our waiter disappears just as quick. No sight of him or a burger for 20+ minutes. And again, it was going on 2PM — most people were finishing up. The kitchen wasn’t getting slammed with a noon lunch rush. All they had to do… was…cook a couple of burgers! When the burgers finally arrived we needed another round of beers. What struck us when the plates hit the table were the little roundish masses of meat. I have no doubt it was the promised 5oz, but it was formed into a shape that lived somewhere between meatball and a proper patty. The optics of meat to bun were wildly unbalanced. I suspect they do this to shame people into getting the half pound patty. My wife begins to put her burger together. And oh that tricky kitchen: They thought if they put the black and discolored side of the avocado down no one would find out. We found out. Looking down at my plate, something was suspiciously missing. That crazy kitchen. They sent out the blackjack burger without… wait for it… blackjack sauce on it. I wasn’t letting that go, so I sent our waiter into the kitchen to get some, which he delivered with a sincere sounding apology. In the meantime I had poked at my crispy — nearly dry — two thin slices of bacon. Nothing sticky or candied about those. They get one star for a fairly tasty burger. Zero stars because the patty was a meatball, it was too long of a wait, and the kitchen boasted nothing but sloppy execution for something that is very simple. I can get fairly tasty burgers in lots of places. I find zero reason to ever go back here for one.

I dined here with my lovely on 10/17/15.The Massapequas, with the exception of Salumi, Saverios, Big Daddy’s and Ginza, are not exactly Foodie Heaven. So… I was excited when I heard GM Burger Bar was coming to town. The décor is attractive & cozy. Although the seating is close, as some have noted, I did not find it uncomfortably so. The noise level was not an obstacle to conversation. GM features burgers as big as eight ounces, including the iconic Midwestern«Juicy Lucy». There are terrific craft beers, signature cocktails and shakes. I chose an 8 oz. Bacon Cheddar Burger on artisan bread, my companion chose«The Frenchy»,(Gruyère, Caramelized Onions, Mozzarella on Ciabatta Bread). Both arrived with cottage fries which were very good. Our server was pleasant, efficient and very helpful. She suggested a craft beer sampler(four five ounce craft beers). It was awesome. I enjoyed each beer. We agreed that our burgers were excellent and cooked precisely as requested. I am eager to return to GM Burger to try new items, whether by takeout or sit down.
