I have been here 2x. The 1st time we ordered our app and dinner at the same time bc we knew what we wanted. We placed our order and our dinner comes out before our app. She came over and said the kitchen screwed up so here’s your dinner n your appetizer will be out shortly. At that point we wanted to cancel the appetizer but she ran away so fast we didn’t have a chance. The burger was great and when the appetizer came out so was that. The 2nd time we went the same exact thing happened with our dinner and appetizer. We love the food. But the employees seem all over the place for such a small restaurant. I also wish it was a little bigger because if your seating along the wall your basically eating with the people next to u!

Went in tonight with my girlfriend. I got a burger with mozzarella, peppers and habanero sauce. My girlfriend had a friend onion burger with bbq sauce. I got coleslaw and she had gotten fries. All of it was very good. The waitress was nice and helpful. The place looked like a nice pub/restaurant but nothing too fancy. The prices were a touch high at about $ 15 per burger, and the burgers weren’t huge. But decent sizes. Overall everything was very good, and we will definitely go back.

I’ve been here 4 or 5 time since they opened. I’ve always had a pleasant experience and my food has always been executed perfectly. I’ve waited until now to make my review after having their burger with the fried egg on top… Holy moly. Seriously had it paired with what I am calling«the absolute freakin BEST Bloody Mary I’ve had ever» also, the waitress I had this last time is my favorite. I have typically only ever seen her as the hostess, and she’s a sweetheart super friendly. This time I was delighted to see that she was serving. Top notch. Super accommodating. I’ll be back for sure.

Massapequa really needed a place like this. Not only is the food AMAZING but its a fun atmosphere for either a night out or a family dinner… I highly recommend the mac N cheese burger

I had dinner here for the first time this past Sunday. The food was great, but it seemed like they were having an off night. We waited almost an hour for a table, which wasn’t much of a problem in general because there was plenty of room to hang out at the bar, but 2 groups walked in and were seated before us. When we were finally brought to our table, the seating was pretty cramped. They were out of 2 of the appetizers we ordered, but we enjoyed our burgers, fries and cheese curds. We were surprised they were so busy on a Sunday night so maybe they were too! I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. My friends love this place and said they’ve had better experiences, so I would give it another try.

Finally! There’s a decent joint to grab a burger in this town! So, okay, this place is fantastic! We love it. Burgers are cooked and seasoned perfectly! So delicious! My burger came with french fries(and I love french fries way too much), I love the aioli that comes with their french fries — it is totally yum! The server told us that they get their meat delivered daily and that all the burgers are fresh. Now, that is something I love to hear! :) Another score is that their boneless wings also knock it out of the park. You can get them in buffalo wing sauce or you can get them reverse — which means covered in bleu cheese and then dip it in buffalo sauce. I didn’t get them reverse, but I thought it was pretty darn awesome they offer it that way! The décor is very nice and the place is VERY clean! I have only come here for lunch and grabbed it at the bar, so I cannot speak for the table service, but the service at the bar — awesome. Each time, the bartenders are extremely attentive and friendly, and in one particular case, accommodating to my father’s ridiculous requests because he can never order off the menu. Oh! Another fun fact about this place is that they serve not only regular milkshakes but hard milkshakes also, which I think is totally fun! Oh, and do yourself a solid and order the poutine — it’s pretty freggin’ awesome! Thanks, NY Burger Bar! We’re fans!

This place rocks. I come from queens just to have their burgers. And Markella is the best bartender in there. I always walk out a satisfied customer when I come here

Had really been looking forward to coming here after reading all the reviews… and the big win recently in Newsday for best burger. My wife and I liked it… but didn’t love NY Burger Bar. The place itself is very nice. It’s comfy and has a great vibe. Parking is awful though, with street parking your only option. Appetizers were good, with the cheese curds standing out. The onion rings were fine, but I prefer beer batter over cracker crumbs. Gotta say, neither the Mrs. and I were fans of the serving plates… reminded us of our dogs bowl. We both had the«juicy Lucy» medium rare… well, ordered that way anyway. It arrived pretty much on the well side of medium. It was nonetheless juicy and tasty. Pints of beer ran a little higher than most pubs in the area, and helped push the bill to $ 80. Will we be back? Maybe — during happy hour at the bar.

Would have had a 5 star review, since the food is fantastic, the beer selection is semi awesome(the selections are either awesome or horrible) and Lauren is a kick ass server! However, beware of Patricia, Ms. Personality. She is the worst, rudest bartender EVER. She has absolutely no clue what she is talking about when it comes to cocktails, she clearly gets flustered easily, and can’t handle when it’s busy. This isn’t a rant from a regular customer, or someone that has no clue. This was my first time here, and I work in the industry. I have never treated a customer the way Patricia treated myself, and my sister-in-law, who also works in the industry. We were absolutely appalled. Of course, we will be back. We will even let Ms. Personality Patricia serve our drinks if she is still here when we come back, and we will transfer our tab to our server so Ms. personality Patricia doesn’t make not a cent for her horrible personality, and her rudeness. Thanks for the awesome eats and decent beer selection NY Burger Bar, I hope you take heed to my review and get rid of Ms. Personality Patricia behind your bar. She claims to be friends with the owner for 20 years, but she’s hurting your business. She got fired from that closed down hole in the wall Guido’s in Wantagh for crying out loud. Why did you even hire her. I hope you read this Ms. Personality. You need a severe attitude adjustment, or you need to retire to the overnight shift at the crappy local dinner.

We came here for an early lunch, loved the décor of the restaurant. Would love to see it crowded(we were the first customers for lunch). We orders a couple of burgers, the juicy Lucy and the Hell’s Kitchen burger. Both were cooked as ordered and they tasted great. The menu is filled with good choices and they have a nice beer menu as well. The burgers seem a little pricey, but tasted good! The waitress was exceptional. No complaints from me, I would like to come back again soon!

A Bavarian Pretzel, breakfast burger(with a maple glaze, bacon jam and fried egg), and a milk shake. It all sounded fantastic(and deadly…) but sadly it didn’t live up to my expectations. The pretzel was large but very salty and oily. The cheese and mustard dips were nice additions and added a good amount of flavor but I’d recommend trying a different appetizer. The burger was also flawed. The fried egg was a little too runny for me(but I know some people prefer it that way). The maple glaze had a nice flavor but made the bacon jam almost undetectable. Lastly, the cook on the burger was supposed to be medium but it was pretty pink in the middle resembling more of a medium rare. The fries were very good and accompanied by a delicious aoli… def recommend that over the coleslaw. The milkshake was a nice way to round out the meal… try the biscoff one. I enjoyed that one more than the banana foster shake– but both were good. Service was good. The waitresses were attentive and friendly.

Absolutely one of the best burgers I ever had. The restaurant has a really cool looking interior with exposed brick and a tin ceiling. I would have given it 5 stars but it is very loud and difficult to have a conversation.

Best burger I’ve had in years! I got the mustang burger which had Mac and cheese on it — fantastic! Also had the poutine to start — great selection. Service was great and the atmosphere was really cool.

As its name would leave you to believe, New York Burger Bar is an upscale bar specializing in burgers. I was surprised that a burger spot would open so close to All American; however, it fulfills a completely different burger niche. It’s more similar to Snaps American Bistro on Wantagh Ave except there is a greater focus on bar food rather than dinner entrees. In regards to beers, there are about two dozen options. Only a quarter of those were craft beers and almost all of the craft beers were IPAs. There were a couple of seasonal crafts like a pumpkin ale and a stout. I ordered the New York burger with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, applewood smoked bacon, and a sunny side up egg. It was properly to a medium rare. I like how the bun absorbed all of the liquid from the onions, tomato, and egg yolk; the bottom bun staunched most of the liquids leading it to become too moist and losing it sturdiness. All in all, it was a good burger, but it was a bit pricey at about $ 16. The service is great. The bill for a burger, a beer, and a tip came out to about $ 30. I feel that’s awfully pricey.

Oh man this place is great, I’m so glad its so close to my house! I absolutely LOVE the décor, with a nice warm bar by the door, chalkboard craft beers and a dining floor. The service was fantastic and my burger was SO good, I had no choice but to finish it and change into sweatpants. They serve this great aioli dipping sauce for their french fries and have a fairly large menu with several different options — as well as build your own burger, and things non-burger related. and they have milk shakes.

Came here late Saturday night for some beers and burgers with my girlfriend. New York Burger Bar did not disappoint. Bigger place than expected, a good amount of tables and a full size bar to match. The inside looks very familiar, going with the rustic, bare brick style interior that has been pretty much the norm with new gastropub style restaurants. The menu looked fantastic with a large selection of burger combinations, having both familiar combos and more eclectic ones as well. We both settled on the Hell’s Kitchen burger and a side of short rib poutine. The burgers were juicy and cooked perfectly. The flavor combinations were on point. Even the buns were good, which is usually a game-breaker on burgers for me. Poutine was decent, the cheese could have used some help but the short rib that was on top was more than just a topping. I’m excited to have another great burger place to choose from in the area. I will definitely be back soon.

We walked in on a Saturday night with a wait of half an hour, so we just headed to the bar, which ended up being the highlight of our visit. The bartenders were quick and helpful and offered up many samples of beers which was nice. I had a Magners Pear Cider which was lovely. Not too many places carry Magners and for such a low cost I couldn’t pass it up. Everyone else enjoyed their beers as well. We were seated a little before our half and hour wait time. It took a while for our waitress to come over and when she did all she did was complain about how busy it was. I should have taken that as a sign for what was to come. We placed our order after about 15 minutes. The place was still busy but it had calmed down a lot and there were only a few patrons waiting to get seated. We put in appetizer orders of the pretzel and onion rings. After about 40 minutes of not receiving anything, we flagged down our waitress(because in 40 minutes she hadn’t even checked on our table.) She apologized and went to check the kitchen. After a few seconds she came by and asked what we had ordered seeing how it wasn’t even on our ticket. By that point all we wanted was our burgers and to leave. A table of 4 who were seated after us got their entrees and an appetizer before we had any food on our table. This is probably my biggest pet peeve in a restaurant. So when I saw this I went over to our waitress who was just hanging around near the kitchen and told her how irritated our entire table was. She apologized and offered us our appetizers on the house but we honestly didn’t want to wait any longer. But in a condescending tone she told me that our ticket was the only one up so it shouldn’t take too long. Ours was last even though we placed our order well before many other tables and yet they received theirs first. Unacceptable. Also when we received our bill I noticed that she didn’t put it into the computer until 25 minutes AFTER we placed our order with her. So it didn’t seem like it was the kitchens fault at all, rather her just being annoyed she was at work. 5 out of the 6 of us were happy with our burgers but we were so irritated by the whole experience we didn’t get to really enjoy them. I had the Saint Marks with blue cheese instead of swiss which was topped with caramelized onions and braised short ribs with a cabarnet sauce that was kind of MIA. The Hells Kitchen, Manhattan, and Biltmore Breakfast were also very good. The bacon on bacon burger was kind of a disappointment and they severely overcooked it. What a shame. When it was time to pay the bill it took us over 10 minutes to flag our horrible waitress down, who was wrestling with another waiter. Another woman who appeared to be an owner was looking around but when I tried to flag her down she just kept walking too. When we finally got the check I had to bring it over to another waitress to put it through because we didn’t want to be there any longer. 6 burgers came to $ 100. Not cheap but not overly expensive either. The portions are fair and the food was mostly good. I wish that the waitress immediately fired the apps she missed and took them off the bill without me having to express my displeasure before she offered. She’s obviously not trained well in customer service. If she would have done that, I feel like our visit would have been a positive one because we wouldn’t have been looking around counting the tables getting their food before us. I don’t think it was a new business kind of issue, I think it was a bad staff member kind of thing.

Definitely a cool place. It’s like walking into a clean dive bar. The window in the front was open, as it was nice warm night. Parking on Merrick Road wasn’t a problem because it was a Thursday. You can’t park in the lot behind the restaurant yet they had the door open to the lot? Confusing. We walked in last night sans reservation, and the wait time was 20, but it was more like 30 minutes when we got seated(I was about to devour a whole pretzel at the bar). So the bar: about 15⁄20 taps. They have Dogfish 60-min so I liked that. They had also had liquor but none of that super fancy stuff. Last night it was half price apps and drinks after 9 if you sit at the bar, which was cool cuz our second round was super cheap. We started with the classic poutine to start. It was pretty good! Cheese curds were kinda cold though. I had the bacon on bacon burger, and it was delicious! I only wish I’d remembered to add the toppings I wanted. I found it funny that some of the burgers were named after LI places, like a Biltmore Shores breakfast burger with a fried egg on it. Speaking of fried egg, you can that and a variety of other toppings to any burger for a buck each. Kinda pricey, IMO. My burger was great, juicy even though I ordered it well done. I tried my bf’s black and bleu burger, and it didn’t hold a candle to mine. You could get a variety of milkshakes(there’s one with Nutella!), and you could even spike it with a shots that are suggested to complement each drink. The waitress was decent, but it was small place so I expect good service. The main con was that they had a guy playing guitar and singing. While he was certainly entertaining and talented, it was so loud I was literally yelling at my boyfriend in order to carry on a conversation. Overall, I’d come back! There are a bunch of other things on the menu that look super delicious.

In my book, cheat day = burgers… today being a cheat day, I decided it was prime time to scope out this new Massapequa spot I’ve heard so many great things about Knowing that NY Burger Bar is new & popular I decided to call ahead & try for a reservation… sadly this isn’t an option, and when we arrived we were told to expect a 45 minute wait which wound up being slightly over an hour, but thankfully the nice beer list at the bar somewhat made up for this Once seated our friendly waitress was very helpful & on top of things from start to finish… our group of 4 split the giant bavarian pretzel to start, delicious but super hot — definitely break it up with your knife & fork… had the hamptons bbq burger which was absolutely wonderful, added cheddar cheese really went well… fries were hot & crispy, served up with terrific garlic aioli that was unique & very enjoyable Overall a very enjoyable meal… probably more like 3.5 stars given the long wait time & somewhat high prices as burgers go, but the high quality food & friendly service earn them the round up
