While making my annual pilgrimage to see my grandmother for her birthday and to retrieve hundreds of dollars worth of non-perishable snacks from Trader Joe’s to bring back to Hawaii, I wandered into Torrid curious to see what they sold since I had seen many folks out here complaining that they wished Hawaii had a Torrid store to call their own. Almost immediately after walking in, I totally got the«I wish Hawaii had a Torrid» sentiment. The clothing here ranged from work appropriate to weekend casual and wasn’t just aimed for the younger crowd aka Forever 21. The store was neat and organized and the sales associates were friendly and helpful and were even able to answer questions I had about purchasing from their website and return policies. I’ve worn three of the tops I purchased so far and love the way they fit, and more importantly love that they’re machine washable and hold up well in the wash.

Stopped in today and this place was a mad house. Yes, I did assume it would be since it was the day after Christmas and they had a serious sale going out. But this place always seems to be a mess. There are racks everywhere you turn. Nothing ever seems to be organized. Near the fitting room is a disaster area. Clothes on the floor, racks overflowing, not great. This place also always seems to be understaffed. You’d think with the price of the clothes here, ahem, overpriced!!!, they’d be able to afford an extra hand. But, I’m writing this review because of the two girls who were working this afternoon around 3:30. I feel bad for not making note of their names, but they were both lovely and did a great job in the customer service department! I was looking for the matching shoe for 2 different pairs and the girl helped me look all over for it. Did I mention these shoes were each $ 9.99 and then an additional 70% off! I had a birthday coupon for $ 10 off a purchase of $ 10 or more. I got 2 pairs of(adorable!) booties for $ 6.31. Are you kidding?! Can’t do better than that! My twin sister could not find her coupon, and the sales associate found a code for her to use and her shoes ended up being free with the coupon. When this place has sales, they’re seriously worry it. Especially today!

Love this place! The staff is super friendly and their shop is always clean and neat. The clothes and shoes here are so much more comfortable than what I’d find at DSW.

Before I start… *YAYFIRSTREVIEW! YAY* *cough* Ok I’m back. Anyways I’ve just recently visited this place. I’ve ordered some things off of their website and was kinda excited to hear they had a location on Long Island. In the sleepy little Massapequa mall. When you walk in they have a ton of stuff, from lingerie to high heels to skinny jeans. Everyone working there can actually fit into the clothes and actually know what you’re talking about when you say«Do you carry something beyond a size 12 that’s not black and doesn’t resemble a garbage bag?» They are bit pricey and some of their selection reminds me of what my grandma used to rock. But then you do find some gems here and there. If you do go, have your wallet ready. I wish they would lower their prices but I’m thinking it’s the whole idea that they use more fabric to make bigger clothing? I am going to go back and spend some more time there because I am a bargain hunter but my bf always looks so sad sitting there, watching me, waiting for the moment where I go «Ok I’m done…»
