This has been my go to place when I’m craving good Japanese bento boxes and sushi. The place is moderately big and has a super nice ambience. Waiters/waitresses aren’t rude and just do their jobs of taking orders and serving food. Some are not very good at speaking English though, so please don’t get frustrated if they clarify your order. I love the bento boxes here, especially the shumai(so delicious). I usually get it with chicken teriyaki, shrimp tempura, shumai, and sushi. The sushi rolls here are expensive, but one of the best tasting I’ve had near me. I would recommend the ninja roll or dragon roll. If you come here for dinner, expect some pretty jacked up prices. Overall, it’s a great Japanese spot and will fill your sushi cravings.

The good: Plenty of seating, BYOB and a liquor store right next door. The bad: lackluster hibachi. The chef lacked entertainment value, and while I know we have all seen the onion volcano a million times, it’s part of the reason you pay what you do for hibachi. Our chef just came out and cooked with no real entertainment or talking at all really. He never confirmed our orders or asked people how they wanted their steaks done– they had to make sure they told him. As for the vegetarian, vegetable hibachi is your only option, and while they have tofu in the restaurant, they won’t add it as a hibachi item which is disappointing. The vegetables needed better seasoning and more salt and spice. The noodles were good but you have to make sure you specify without beef as both the rice and noodles come with beef added on, as opposed to most hibachi restaurants. Service was okay. They got a bunch of things wrong and always corrected it, but it just became annoying. Overall, the place was okay. I will be sticking to other hibachi restaurants in the future tho.

We have been coming here for years. Always enjoy the sushi and hibachi. Very convenient food eating in and take out. My family really likes the hibachi. I give a 3 star for hibachi and 5 for sushi, average 4 rating. We tend to stay away on weekends because it gets so crowded. Even though they take reservations I like it on an off night because it tends to get loud. If yo do venture in on a Friday or Saturday I find the service is better at the tables as opposed to the hibachi. Sushi bar has the best service. If you have any allergies tell them before you sit down at the hibachi, that is another reason I like to go on an off night. Look for coupons

Great place and great food. I come here all the time. All of the sushi is always fresh and has a great presentation. Some of the staff is sometimes not the friendliest but the food way more than makes up for it.

The absolute best and freshest sushi around!!! They are the best for food, Service and always having great specials. There hibachi is the best around and byob with a liquor store next to it!!! My only option for sushi hibachi in the rare for 10 years!!!

The food here is decent however the service is horrible. The staff is mean and they don’t treat you nicely at all! I feel that the way the staff acts makes your dining experience a negative one.

Eh… not up to par for the area. It’s got a feel of a low-key, average style sushi bar but with higher prices. The quality of the sushi is just ok and the selection is rather limited. The portion for the fried rice we got was a good size but that’s about where it ended. The staff was a bit short and almost like they were doing you a favor all while trying to rush you, yet being slow at the same time. Not a great meal, especially with many other better options in the area.

The sushi is better than average. The food is on par with the plethora of Japanese restaurants in the area. They have hibachi, which i haven’t tried, but I’ve dined here many a time for sushi and cooked dishes. Overall is a good value for sushi because they haven’t really increased their prices for over 6 years, and the rolls are a decent size. The menu is the same since I’ve moved from the area 6 years ago. I prefer to eat sushi at Wasabi 34 but came here because they actually open on Sunday at noon which is a plus. Most Japanese in the surrounding towns open for dinner only.

Had Hibachi lunch for 10 teens to celebrate bday. Spent $ 180 bucks including tips. However, when everyone said portions were tiny, I decided to call the manager, Sherman. His answer was basically«restaurant is right, customer is wrong». Granted teens eat a lot but when few skinny teen girls said they were still hungry after Hibachi lunch, you start wondering what’s going on…

Had lunch here the other day and enjoyed the sushi. They have a 3 roll special with soup and salad for $ 11. They had a good amount of sushi roll options during lunch. Service was good and everyone was friendly and attentive. Good place for sushi at a really low cost.

This place is okay and thats the only adjective that i can describe it with. I went here multiple times and each time I expect fresh sushi and semi decent food. And thats basically what I get. The only reason I can see someone picking this japanese place over another is the fried ice cream. That is the redeeming quality to this restaurant. Decent food and decent service.

Took a hiatus because we don’t hang out in that area often but daughter and son-in law took us there for dinner tonight. My chirashi sushi was a delight, fresh sashimi over a bed of perfectly prepared sushi rice. The appetizers were also excellent. Service was great and staff very professional. The owner was friendly and his sense of humor simply putting icing on my cake of positive dining experience.

it was okay. I enjoyed our meals. hibachi and some wine. was late on a saturday we sat within 15 minutes and food was prepared quickly. I’m not a fan of the salad dressing they use. was very watery. hibachi has perfect amount of sauce and salt. filet was cooked nicely and my husband are his entire meal and then my leftovers the next day. sushi was also fresh and prompt. byob and a liquor store next door!’

Friday night takeout… Had an Alaska roll– delicious and fresh and a shrimp tempura roll– ehhh. We tried a few side dishes of rice and noodles, and chicken teriyaki… Overall was good, but nothing stood out or wowed me considering the $$$.

This is our go-to Japanese restaurant since the food is good and it’s only 15 minutes from home. The food is good, but the service is sometimes slow, and the ambience is just meh… they really need to redecorate. Their other restaurant in Freehold is newer, with a cozier and more pleasant feel, and better service. Husband and teen daughter enjoy the sushi rolls, good appetizers, I enjoy the teriyaki. Their house salad dressing is really tasty. Definitely make reservations on weekends, especially for the very-popular hibachi.

Food is pretty good there — OVERALL. When I’m in the area it’s definitely my go to place for sushi, I have just had some off nights there but that can be said for any restaurant. Hope that helps!
