My wife and I love the Perfect Cup. The food is reasonable and good. We have noticed that the service the key few months has been hit or miss and getting worse. We have run into some of the staff that is now working at other places and they said they loved the customers but the ownership is very hard to work for so there is not much consistency in Wait staff. Over all a good place for breakfast but they need to get there service issues resolved or it is going to start affecting the business

Four of us all enjoyed our breakfast. Everything was tasty and portions were decent sized. The service was excellent and friendly. Coffee was self serve which was good if you like refills but don’t like to wait. The place was extremely busy with local patrons who look liked they frequented there often. We will be back again!

When we come down to Pine Island to visit family, at least one stop in to the Cup is obligatory. On the main drag in Matlacha, I know this place gets a ton of business, and it’s well-deserved. The ambiance is very dinery, with mismatched chairs and tables in all shapes and sizes. When you first walk in you’re not super impressed with the décor, but the food and coffee makes up for it. The staff here are friendly and helpful, and very accommodating to any requests you have. At times the service is a little slow, but when every table in the joint is full, it’s understandable. I’ve been here a couple of times over a handful of years, and I’ve seen the same people working each time. I guess they prescribe to the model that if something isn’t broken, don’t fix it. I don’t blame them. The food is really good. I don’t know that I’ve ever had anything other than breakfast here, but it never disappoints. The omelettes are enormous, the biscuits and gravy are flavorful and packed with chunks of sausage, and the bagels are fresh and delicious. Oh, and the coffee is fantastic. Strong, always hot, and four varieties at any moment(including decaf). It’s serve yourself style coffee, so sometimes you have to wait in line, but it’s worth it. The only thing about this place that I would do differently is to make there be more space! Sometimes you walk in and can’t hardly find a place to put yourself. And maybe add one more person during the busy times to help speed up service. Overall, I love this place. It’s a part of my trip that I always look forward to, and it hasn’t disappointed yet. Oh! Get the giant cappuccino. Seriously, do it now!

This place seemed to have great reviews on the food. Too bad the service was SOSLOW that we left. Just stopped here on our way to catch the ferry to Captiva Island. A table of four was waited on and served before my husband and I, even though we had arrived 15 minutes prior. After 45 minutes, I heard«throw the grouper on», indicating that the fish sandwich I ordered was JUST being placed on the grill. We walked out.

I had the 2÷2÷2 with French toast and my husband had the big breakfast. We both had the iced caramel mocha lattes. It was all really good. Just enough food and cooked well. We’ll be back.

This is a place for the perfect cup of coffee, great food, and wonderful people and service. We were in town for a few days and ate there each day because of the welcoming atmosphere.

What a quaint little place! The coffee setup is great… Several different types are set up in the corner so you can serve it the way you like it! Service was decent: maybe it would be better if not packed so I won’t penalize my rating because of it. The food was pretty good too … Had a pretty big omelette! I would absolutely go back!!!

As a local, this is my favorite joint. As a visitor, this place is a treat! Great service in a bustling eatery that just happens to roast its own coffee beans! Quality food,(try a special) oversized portions at reasonable prices, served by a friendly, fun staff leaves you feeling fulfilled on every level. Enjoy! Oh, don’t forget to try the amazing seafood chowder.

Hubby and I stopped in here for breakfast yesterday(Sunday) on our way out of town, back to Delray Beach. Perfect Cup was recommended to us by our kayak guide. It’s a little kitschy place with a good breakfast menu and reasonable prices. My husband ordered one of the specials — Crabby Benny. He LOVED it! I had a bite of the it and literally spit it into my napkin. I thought it was the worst-tasting crab ever. It tasted like rotting fish. Maybe it was just the bite I had, but he loved it and swore it tasted great. I had a croissant breakfast sandwich that was fine. It’s really hard to screw that up. What I particularly like about Perfect Cup was the service(mostly). They work as a team here, so a number of different folks served our table, and they were all very warm and friendly. The biggest disappointment was that their espresso machine was broken. They only had black coffee. I was sooo looking forward to a double espresso with my meal, and then a latte for the road. It just didn’t happen. Perfect Cup is a «seat yourself» type of restaurant. When we arrived at 9:30, it was virtually empty — only 6 other customers. At the point we were done with our main meals at 10:05am, we waited patiently for my husband’s vanilla malt which took an inordinate amount of time. While waiting, several customers waiting to find a seat, along with staffers, kept looking at our table wondering when we’d get up so they could use our table. There were large groups who needed to push tables together. We’d literally been there 35 minutes and were just waiting for my husband’s last food item! Two employees came to our table to ask us to go pay at the register. Really? We politely told them we would pay after he received his malt and after we received a bill. This is the reason for the 3 stars. While service was really friendly for the most part, we felt pushed out in an unreasonable amount of time. That, together with no ability to make any type of coffee drink brings my rating down to a 3. I will try them again next time we’re in town and hope for a better experience.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Decaf Coffee was wonderful. The jack sausage omelet was a most generous portion and the best omelet I’ve had in recent memory. I’m trying to figure out how I can be close to the area more frequently so I can enjoy more of the selections. My wife’s eggs Benedict was perfect. Right amount of sauce with perfectly formed eggs. Well done staff. Give yourselves a big pat on the back.

A very good breakfast. I read other reviews complaining about the service, but we found it great. My father grabbed the«big breakfast» and I had the breakfast burrito. Both were excellent. If your looking for ambiance, then go somewhere else. If you want a great meal with some local flair, then head here.

Uhmm, this is a cute little place, however, the service was unorganized, the food was not awesome, we left almost all on the plates and sure we didn’t want to take that home. We got there and everyone one would look at us but would not greet us or explain anything. I had to chase one of the waitresses to ask if we needed to be seated or if this was a self-serve restaurant, she then walked us to a table and gave us the menus. The food, omelets were not good, a bit dry and just blah… I did not understood the house potatoes recipe, it was like paper potatoes chips boiled, not yummy.

Stopped for the first time today while in Matlacha for the week. It’s a café that came highly recommended from several locals. While I wouldn’t say that I «highly» recommend it, it’s a decent stop for breakfast and coffee drinks. The waitstaff was super nice, prompt and helpful. I think every single employee asked us if we needed anything. I ordered the chai latte and the Mr. ordered a mocha. The large mocha is LARGE. Hysterically so, actually. The chai wasn’t a strong as I prefer, but it was okay. I had the Crabby Big Daddy omelet(9.95) and he had the special –sausage, Arugula, provolone(8.95). Both were huge portions and fairly tasty. Everything could have used some more seasoning, but again… you have to cook for the masses. Second trip: Coffee was delicious. Bagel with salmon spread was absolutely smothered in pink cream cheese that didn’t taste like salmon at all. Chowder was ice cold. They were super busy, which I appreciate… but we had to get our silverware, we couldn’t get anyone to attend to the chowder, my husband never received the rest of his food, etc, etc. Maybe go when it’s not busy. Overall, okay coffee place. Chilled atmosphere… nonplussed décor… friendly staff… reasonable cost.
