I had a taste for something different, so I tried out this place. I ordered shrimp tempura sushi-it had too much rice and fell apart, crab rangoon-was ok and small plain fried rice-which was tasteless. I don’t plan on ordering from here again… waste of money.

Very good food and not as pricey as other Hibachi grills. They have a great, but limited, lunch buffet.

I tried this place out for the firs time a few weeks ago. I had been to Hama*** before, but didn’t want to be bothered with the crowd or prices. My friend and I did the habachi & I must say… ITWASGOOD! I had also never tried sushi before… ITWASGOOD! I got the spicy tuna or salmon maki. My sexid time around I got the dragon something with tempura shrimp!!! I plan on this being my new spot for Asian cuisine and look forward to sampling other things in the menu. They also have all u can eat sushi for $ 25!

Honestly some of the best sushi I’ve had. The Mexican Roll and the Kiss of Fire roll are my favorites. The unlimited sushi is awesome because it’s not like a buffet where it is all prepared ahead of time(which would creep me out with sushi) but it’s made to order. For some reason, I think it was the texture, I didn’t like the spicy tuna roll there which is one of my usual go-to sushi rolls. But everything else more than made up for it. I really liked the amount of options for the all you can eat menu. Most sushi places only have special prices on certain items and they are usually just classic rolls. Their menu is enormous and you can even get soup or edamame(sp?) with the all you can eat! The service is hit or miss. The first time j was there, our server was FANTASTIC and even let us order another roll without finishing the first but the other times it was just average.

Excellent all you can eat sushi menu. Over 40 items(49 items, though the first 5 aren’t sushi. But its nice to start with miso soup.). Quality of the food was excellent. Everything was delicious. The rolls could have been tighter, but that’s a minor complaint. Service was very attentive. They have so many rolls there was no way I could try them all. Definitely worth the stop. If your a truck driver like me there is plenty of parking. As the restaurant is on the outer edge of the now closed Lincoln Mall. Many stores still nearby, like Target and Wal-Mart. You can stop by get what you need from the stores and then sit down to a great meal.

I have visited A Fusion in Matteson, Illinois on several occasions, so I am not really sure why I have not completed a review before now… The restaurant located on Lincoln Highway, in front of the now«dead» Lincoln Mall. It is clean and nicely decorated, with a pretty attentive staff. As others have mentioned, there is the option of Hibachi, Buffet, or ordering from the Menu for dine in or carry out. I truly love Chinese, Thai, and Japanese Food. But, the only reason I keep going back to A Fusion is because my kids and the hubby LOVE the sushi. On the other hand, I have tried the A Fusion Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Egg Foo Young, Orange Chicken, Chicken Chop Suey, and Chicken and Broccoli. In all instances involving chicken, I have been NOTIMPRESSED. The chicken seems poorly seasoned, drowning in too much juice/sauce, and not cooked thoroughly. I have decided not to return for those reasons. However, the biggest bonus to A Fusion is that it delivers in the area, AND that includes the SUSHI delivery! That makes the hubby and kids happy!

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Dear Afusion, the quality of your food is going down. I’m guessing that you hired a new cook because the food has been gross lately. I’ve ordered crab raggon and egg rolls from you several times and it has been hard, overcooked, and stale tasting. Are you recycling old food from the buffet??? This food tastes old!!! Also my Thai Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice is sticky with under cooked Shrimp every time… You get 2 thumbs down!

Came here with high hopes. Sat down with only a few other people in the restaurant. Ordered the all-you-can-eat sushi. Ordered and received after 20+ minutes. Orders the second round and received half of it after 40 minutes. They only had one sushi chef they kept saying. Please plan on being here 2 hours for a quick lunch if you come. Won’t come back again. Manager even told my friend that he was talking to me and basically told him to shut up that he was talking to me.

I was actually surprised with the food here. My coworker comes here often and she brought me here for lunch. They do have some really good lunch specials. 2 maki rolls for $ 7! They also carry Thai and Chinese dishes. I ordered from the lunch menu: Namasake roll and a spicy tuna roll. Both maki rolls were good. I like that they weren’t cheap with the fish and the avocado in the Namasake roll! Service though could’ve been better. :/

Not a fan of sushi but I’m a critic of Chinese Food. If sushi is all you want and care for then disregard this review. Anyways this place fails miserably when it comes to real Chinese Food. Stop being a follower by going to this place cause you heard your friends talking about it, go to a real Chinese restaurant if you want good food. The Egg Rolls tastes like something you can buy frozen from the grocery store and the fried rice makes Panda Express fried rice look good. Trust me, read my other reviews… I don’t lie.

Love Afusion! They have a HUGE menu so there are plenty of options. I’m a big fan of the Vegas maki and the Mexican maki, but all the different rolls I’ve tried are excellent. Large interior and can host big events. My husband and I held our wedding shower here last year and loved it. Friendly staff.

My husband and I, and another couple, had the«All you can eat sushi» for dinner tonight. The sushi itself wasn’t that bad, the rolls were pretty standard. The service was slow and it really wasn’t that busy. For instance, after we finished our first order of rolls, our waiter came back and took our orders for our next rolls and it took over a half hour for them to come out. Well, everyone else’s rolls came out 20 minutes before mine did. I understand preparing sushi is an art, but our waiter was bringing out orders for other tables that ordered sushi well after we did. He was apologetic, but not until I asked where my rolls were. It was kind of a weird experience. I gave it 4 stars overall because the food itself was good, the price for me husband and I was just a tad over $ 60(that includes tip) and the service was just ok. I would probably go back.

I really love this place. Not only for the pretty decoration of the restaurant but also for their multiple choices of food type. My favorite is the real fresh taste scallop. I can really tell the difference. The Chinese style tofu(which was from Taiwan originally according the manager) taste tend and soft my family all love it so much. Also the decoration is just so nice! I love the tables under the indoor tree(which according the manager the owner cut the real branches put on plastic leaves and place on the trees). One more thing: there’s a bird cage hanging on the tree lol so lovely.

Wow. Where do I begin? First impressions are everything and A Fusion left a HORRIBLE initial impression on me. Even though the food was decent(nothing spectacular) I’ll never return. I went to A Fusion as part of a group of eleven. We had a reservation for 6pm but most of the party arrived at 5:45pm. We were told that we couldn’t be seated until everyone arrived. Fine. Many restaurants have that policy so that wasn’t an issue. By 6:05pm everyone had arrived and we were told it’d be a 5 minute wait. At 6:30pm we were still waiting to be seated. The excuse was that they were waiting for a particular table for us. Huh? Isn’t that the purpose of making a reservation? The restaurant’s staff claimed that there was only one table to accommodate such a large party. Umm. ok. that means you should be extra vigilant ensuring that the table is available for the party that reserved it! Otherwise what’s the point of even taking reservations? Anyway, we finally get seated around 6:45pm after resisting the urge to leave. The habachi station sits about 18 people but there were only 14 of us so we were only afforded one chef. That meant that the meal took forever to make it to the plate. We started with fried rice and nearly 30 minutes later with the good stuff(meat). By that point I had filled up on rice. I was starving and found it hard to hold out until my entire plate was full with rice, veggies and meat. There should be two chef’s at all time in my opinion to prevent stagnation. When you sit down to eat you want to eat proportionally, not one dish at a time. The food was decent but nothing spectacular. I’ve had better habachi at both Ron of Japan & Hamada of Japan. A Fusion is like a watered down moderately cheaper version of those restaurants. The rice was good but I didn’t really care for the veggies. There wasn’t enough broccoli in my opinion. I didn’t have the noodles but more than a few people in my party didn’t care for them. The one thing I will say is that the meat seemed to be good quality. I ordered the chicken and steak but had some shrimp off someone else’s plate. The steak was much too salty but otherwise delicious. If I had the choice I’d order all steak in retrospect. It was that good. Tender, juicy and seasoned well. Again, they could use alot less salt. The chicken was good too but not as tasty as the steak. I liked the shrimp too. I’m always skeptical of eating seafood in unfamiliar establishments but it turned out to be fine. The portion size was so large that I was able to eat leftovers for two days straight. Ice cream is also included in the price of the meal. The service ended up being ok after we were seated but there’s no excuse for the staff dropping the ball at the start of our experience at A Fusion. The waitress was pleasant, attentive and effective. The chef wasn’t overly social but he was nice enough. Not everyone is meant to be a chatty cathy. The bill had to be paid either on one check or it could be split 3 ways. There were 3 people on my bill and it was $ 92. YIKES! For that kind of money A Fusion needs to tighten up their operations in my opinion. There’s no excuse for customers having poor experiences when you’re shelling out $ 100 for 3 people. A 15% tip is included for large parties. Too bad for the waitress because she would’ve gotten a 20% tip if the choice hadn’t been made for us. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated but dated. It didn’t look like the photos I saw online. I doubt I’ll ever return to A Fusion. It struck me more as an acceptable option rather than a desired destination.

I was so disappointed because I really wanted to like this place. I went there for lunch with my brother and we didn’t care for it. Neither of us really liked our food, my shrimp was very chewy and I barely touched it. I ate my rice which was fine but very bland. My brother said his food was okay but didn’t have much flavor. Maybe they just don’t put much effort into their lunch guests because they aren’t busy, I’m still debating if I will try it again for dinner sometime. I guess my search for good Japanese food in this area will continue!

Peking Duck is delicious. Crispy cracklings skin, A bit steep for the price($ 14.99) but it comes with julienned cucumber, scallions, and thin, crêpe-tortilla-like pancakes. Shrimp lo mein is also the bomb. Swimming with jumbo shrimp. Oh and get the tea-$ 1.00 for a hot cast iron kettle of tea.

I was really shocked how much I enjoyed this place. My friend suggested it for dinner one night. I wouldn’t of ever given it a second thought, but I’m glad she told me about it. I ended up beating her by about 30 minutes so I sat at the bar and had a glass of wine first. The wine was on sale for $ 4 a glass that night. I think it was a Thursday. They had several other drink specials too. The service was very friendly. We were not easy to deal with this particular night and they were patient. We just had lots of special requests and then another friend join us much later in the evening. They handled everything well. We started with crab rangoon. It was cooked and filled perfectly. My friends ordered some Chinese dishes and sushi. They ate everything up. The food was all presented nicely. I ordered a teriyaki steak. It was so good. The steak was tender and had an excellent flavor. I was shocked at the quality given the low prices. The only negative I can say is the hibachi tables were pretty noisy. The noise did travel through the restaurant. It didn’t bother me, but I could see how it would bother some people.

I’m honestly surprised by all the bad reviews? My husband used to work down the street and we would meet here for lunch a lot. I have never had the lunch buffet but have tried many different sushi rolls and sashimi which were all good(comparable to Big Tuna or Zuki in the area). The chicken fried rice and crab rangoons are also favorites. I once came here with my family(party of 5) and we ordered the meal for 4 where you could pick out a bunch of entrees, sides and soup(couldn’t find it on the online menu to be more precise). The food was typical chinese carry-out style and was all tasty with huge portions! We had nearly half of everything left even with 5 of us eating a «meal for 4.» Make sure to order a smoothie to go before your check comes! The watermelon is seasonal in the summer and amaaaaazing. My husband really likes their boba in his. The staff has always been friendly and the place is clean. The waitresses usually recognize us when we come in and make recommendations. I saw a bunch of posters hanging last summer that they won some sort of world recognition for their food? Don’t know much about it though!
