I was prescribed augmentin, a form of penicillin, despite it stating right on my chart that I was allergic to penicillin. Not realizing this was penicillin, I took it. I returned a week later with an extremely swollen tongue and throat. I could not speak or move my tongue. They tried to brush me off and say that it was swelling due to the cold and sinus infection even though they recommended I take an allergy medication until it goes down. Definitely a severe reaction to the medication. A month later and I’m still sick.
