I do not see the appeal of this establishment. 4 stars? No way. At best this place is somewhere between extremely average over Americanized oriental fast food to a below average gut bomb. So, if you are seeking a quick inexpensive gut filler this is all you. But, if you are seeking a decent to average lunch then keep on driving or hit the McDonalds next door. And for me to suggest you eat at McDonalds over this restaurant speaks volumes for the quality of Japan Express. Japan Express does not warrant a recommendation.

Sushi was horrible. The rolls fall apart and have a horrible taste. And services wasnt so good either.

I have eaten at this place several times and have been really impressed. Food is always fresh and non-greasy. They have a very convenient drive through which is nice when you want to pick dinner up after getting off work. Service is great and the price is very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Positives: The steak was tender and flavorful It’s convenient, quick and close. The sushi wasn’t bad! Negatives: The chicken in my teriyaki was soooo bland and overcooked. Just dry and tasteless. The house special roll was probably better in-store, but by the time I was home, all I could taste was the cooking oil in the coating — not crunchy at all. Partly my fault for ordering a sushi roll to go, but the oil taste was icky. Or biggest complaint was the Crab Rangoons. Oh my stars! I don’t know what they use for the filing. My guess is some kind of starch, but it gives the consistency of a wet marshmallow. No joke. Spongy and dense, almost like a bechamel, but gummy. I don’t know that cream cheese is authentic, but it’s normal for American Chinese. This was not. And the crab taste was not there at all. Overall, we’ll probably eat there again, but only steak dishes.

One word, shit. Sushi is not fresh so don’t waste your time with it. Had to spit it out as soon as I tasted it. Biggest waste of money. They can’t even get a California roll right. You’d be better off going next door to bi-lo.

Very good food, passed by the place all the time and always wondered about it. Read reviews here on Unilocal and had to try it. Steak was very tender and the shrimp were peeled and devained, big plus for the wife. Food was served very hot and the veggies were cooked perfect. Sushi was very good. Only thing I can think of I didn’t like and was no big deal were the cheap plastic forks. We defiantly will be returning.

Drive thru window, open late, great food, good prices. We stopped in late one Friday– the food was freshly and quickly prepared. The entrée portion was big enough for two or three meals and less than $ 10.

The best quick hibachi in this neighborhood! The owners and staff are friendly and work hard to get you everything fresh. They cook it when you order it so call ahead or be prepared to wait a little but it’s well worth it!!!

I love this place ! The food is extremely fresh, the place is very clean, the special deals on the blackboard are very affordable, and the people that run the place are extremely nice and polite ! I have never been disappointed, and have been there allot of times ! Never a wait… not sure why… should be packed ! Try it… you’ll like it !

Steak bowl was excellent with shrimp sauce! Only change I’ll make next time is to ask them to hold the extra teriyaki sauce on top, as I am not a fan of extra sauce on hibachi-style food. Overall very tasty! We’ll go back!

Great selection, fast service, tasty food. They even have a drive-thru window if you’re in a rush. The rice bowls(with either steak, chicken, shrimp, or eel) are a great value and even better smothered in shrimp sauce!
