Still amazing food! By far, the best seafood in the area! Still problems with slow service though –why it doesn’t get 5 stars from me. When they are busy they quit answering the phone for takeout orders. At least the servers seem a bit happier now.

Super tasty– real local food! We love hill top due to its extremely low key atmosphere. It’s still top notch Cajun food without the suit and tie. I ordered a grilled shrimp salad. TODIEFOR. Really freaking good. Husband got the steak with grilled shrimp on top. Be warned: the wait staff move around like bees. They are always moving so fast. Watch were you are walking. The only reason I gave them 4 instead o 5 stars is because the waitress passed us up twice when we were ready to order. This place is a MUST!

This is a out of the way old time place. It reminds me of the old Cajun places of Pierre Part and the surrounding area. Such a good place for all the basic Cajun meals. The seafood is consistent in size and amount which is large servings. We the family have been there on Sunday’s for lunch. The crowd is mostly small and it makes for quick service. Like I said, the food has always been very good and the service quick. Good solid place to go with a view of the Diversion Canal and the boats passing by.

Great food at a great price. Also very kid friendly. Got a table in a very timely manner on a busy Saturday. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Crab Augratin had plenty lumps of crabmeat. One of the best I’ve had. My husband had the special with boiled crabs and shrimp and said it was awesome.

It was mid-afternoon when we arrived, and some restaurants and including this one, service was slow and poorly executed. They didn’t handle tween times very well. Took almost 10 minutes to get our drinks, forgot the salads too. The. Food was hit and miss; I had oyster poboy, my wife had shrimp. The bread wasn’t French and the shrimps weren’t fresh. The oysters were good. I’ve heard they are good at the burgers, so if I was going there again I would go with them.

Went to Hill Top today and it took 2.5 hours to get our food, worst experience ever. As a sorry for the inconvenience they discounted $ 6 off our $ 120 ticket. Wow they really care about their customers experience.

Went on a date night with my husband and as usual, three foods was great! We’ve been here a few times, but every time we come, can’t get over how big and perfectly cooked the fried oysters are! The fried stuffed mushrooms were also really good and the fried shrimp were very big and tender! The service was great, Travis was very attentive and nice. Overall great atmosphere. We will be back soon!

Had a wonderful family meal. Boiled crawfish was perfectly seasoned. Onion rings were homemade and fresh. Service was good. Had a 30 minute wait. Bloody Mary’s from the bar made the wait worthwhile!

Every time i come here i say to myself this is going to be the time i get something that tastes bad. Well that never happens. EVER!!! lve tryed almost everything on the menu. and cannot find a thing that doesn’t knock your socks off !! Let’s see now, seafood, soups, steaks, desert, not to mention the bar are off the charts good a must try, bring your. mama so you can. slap her kinda place .The service has always been great and knowledgeable. If you dont have a car you can come. by boat, or launch your boat and get gas for your boat .This place can get crowded but i’ve never waited over 15 to 20 min.

Food — Fairly consistent quality. I have eaten here at least once a week for around 7 years. The seafood is fried in the perfect amount of batter and never greasy. The onion rings used to be perfect. Lately they have too much breading and don’t taste great. The burgers are fantastic! Décor– Not fancy. The restaurant recently had a majorly needed cleaning. Service– The glitch of Hill Top. They can’t manage weekend crowds at all. The hostess will say«5−10» minute wait, in reality it’s 35 minutes. It’s not uncommon for food to take 35 – 55 minutes to come after ordering. They never have enough people working at lunch. Most of the time it’s one grumpy woman who acts like you are inconveniencing her by eating there. This place has been open for many years, you’d think they could figure out staffing issues. Overall, the décor is kind of divey & the service is lacking, but the food is so good it makes up for the shortcomings.

Wish it weren’t such a hike, but hey, that adds to the charm. It’s off the beaten path in Maurepas, La along the water and if you make the drive, the food won’t let you down. The beer selection is non-craft but there’s liquor if you need a cocktail. The Cajun/Creole fare is what you’re here for and it won’t disappoint. I had a soft shell crab étouffée special that was plate-licking good. I hear the wait can be long on a busy night but some good local people-watching should keep you occupied.

My husband and I came on a Friday night for seafood. My husband got the Diversion(fried shrimp, small seafood au gratin, baked potato.) My husband wanted the shrimp grilled in stead of fried, and they charged us $ 22.00 instead of $ 20.00. No big deal, but it seems like it would be cheaper for them to grill. I got 3lbs of boiled crawfish for $ 12.95. I couldn’t finish them because they were not cooked right. Most of them had the flavor of a band-aid. They also ran out of corn with my crawfish. My husband said his salad wasn’t that tasty, and his baked potato was nasty! I really wanted coffee with my dessert, but my waitress Kaytee was too lazy to brew me a cup! The only reason I gave them two stars is because of the bread pudding! It was yummy! Drive a little further to New Orleans, or Baton Rouge for better food!
