Basic supply of liquor at decent prices, but they have a huge selection of free books (you may also leave unwanted books, but you don’t have to do so to take some) and a tiny pet frog in an aquarium that stays so still I am always afraid it is dead. Some of the employees bring a dog. Who could ask for more? If I were rating it on local color, it would be a 5.

It’s Main Street Liquors — The variety is very basic, but they are great for last minute needs. The owner is really nice, as are the staff she has, is as well. I wouldn’t go here for a Christmas list, but it is great in a pinch!

Two West Coasters, in Maynard visiting family, came here looking for some Massachusetts brew.
First impression? Tidy, very tidy shop. Not a speck of dust anywhere! And the shopkeeper says hello to her customers.
Not the largest selection of boutique beers (which was what we came for) but enough to get started with. And we did leave with a few local beers, and considered buying some very attractive looking limoncello for after dinner cordial :)
Price wise? I can’t benchmark against local businesses but it’s reasonable, according to us San Franciscans.
