The food is good, which makes it even more disappointing that the business is dishonest. I have been there a bunch over the years but most recently I went a few months ago for a salad. «Machine’s down, cash only» which happens. My food seemed more expensive than usual but it was busy so I didn’t want to hold up the line while I calculated tax. By the time I reached my car I realized yes, over charged. A month or so later I went back again for a bigger order. Machine still down. Once again the total seemed high so I asked for the break down and the prices were once again higher than the huge sign hanging above the counter. «Oh, those prices aren’t right» is all the guy said. Hello?! False advertising, and I know it had been that way for a while. Pretty shady that it’s cash only, no receipt is given, and they are charging more than the signage. I will never go back.

Okay if you want to reek of fried food after you leave. Very seat of the pants operation.

Pretty disappointed with this place given the high ratings… Walked in with two other people to at lunch and was told that it would take 25 minutes for 3 sandwiches to be done. After waiting over an hour, we finally got our sandwiches. I got a buffalo chicken cheese steak that turned out to be a chicken finger sandwich. If your main selling item is cheesesteaks and infer that your’e from Philadelphia, you should know there is a huge difference. The place has 0 sense of organization, while we were there many people simply walked out because they were taking so long to do some pretty basic sandwiches. The lady who took our order had no idea if people paid or not, whose order it was, and 0 concept of when things would be done. The food itself was pretty poor– the buffalo chicken sandwich was literally over fried tenders on a huge white sub roll. I’m from Philly and by no means is this anywhere in comparison to Philly cheesesteaks

We didn’t feel like cooking and didn’t want to eat the leftovers from Christmas dinner, so we decided a sub would be good. After perusing the menus of the local pizza shops we decided to check out Willy’s Philly’s sub options. When they said they would deliver, Willy’s was the winner. Ordered some fries and a large cheese steak with cheddar cheese and onions. He said it would be 5 – 10 minutes, which seemed rather quick and we were skeptical. Lo and behold, less than 10 minutes later the delivery arrived. The cheese steak came in a sturdy Styrofoam container(not the usual ones, it was actually the exact size of the sub!) Everything was delicious and we’re happy to say we still give them 5 stars.

Perhaps the best cheese steak i’ve had. Each sandwich appears to be prepared individually so it can take a minute but Keith(the gent making the subs) obviously cares about quality and it really shows. It’s worth the wait and I recommend this place.

Willy’s Philly’s a small shop run by a single fellow at the time of our visit. Everything’s made to order, so it took some time. Not sure just how they’d handle a normal lunch rush. Order at the counter to go or to dine in at a number of seats at the window, or at one of perhaps 6 tables set primarily in the space next door where there’s also a small bathroom tucked into a back corner. Three of us weren’t that hungry, so we ordered two large sandwiches and an order of onion rings to share between the four of us. Teriyaki Cheesesteak grilled with peppers, onions, mushrooms and your choice of cheese — large $ 8.75 with provolone. The named vegetables were not at all discernible to the eye, Presumably they got chopped finely into the well sauced finely shredded meat. Still it was a rather tasty sandwich though I would have preferred the sub roll toasted. Roast Beef Sandwich freshly cooked & sliced daily, served on a buttered, grilled bulkie roll with lettuce, tomato & onion $ 6.50 for large. Next to the sub, it looked rather puny, but was high with meat and quite filling. However, should you be looking for a hot option, this one wasn’t. Onion rings were not homemade, but satisfyingly counted as the unhealthy salty crunchy component of our meal. They seem to be a cash only business, but there’s an ATM set conveniently in the shop.

I will start by stating that I did feel for the one guy who was trying to take the orders, work the cash register, and cook the food. So I appreciate his efforts and I understand that he was alone trying to do everything. Which why this place only has one person working on a Saturday afternoon during prime lunch time is ridiculous. This is basically a takeout sandwich place and we must of waited 30 minutes for 2 grilled cheeses, a cheesesteak, and a garden salad. The first red flag was that he took the money(cash only) with his gloves still on that he was making the food with. Even after he took the money he continued to cook/prepare the food with the same gloves. It was also an open kitchen concept, so the amount of cross contamination that must of been going on was pretty intense. Next was the garbage cans that were overflowing with garbage and also have flies buzzing around it. They were definitely left out from the night before at least, as they place had only been open for about an hour when we go there. You could also tell that the floors and tables have not been washed in some time. It was a fairly hot day and it was not comfortable at all to be sitting in there and the one ceiling fan that they had in the place appeared to be broken as it was moving, but barely spinning and was extremely slow. Finally my wife’s Italian salad dressing that she ordered was just one big clump, definitely not edible. Then when she asked for balsamic dressing, he took the bottle and put his gloved hand(that again was used for raw steak/roast beef/money) over the top of the bottle of dressing shook it up and then poured it into a container for her. Being that she was pregnant, she did not take any chances and ended up not eating the salad. I am only giving this 2 stars because the guy was working hard and my kids did eat the grilled cheese and I ate my cheesesteak.

The Best cheese steak outside of Philly. Staff was exceptionally friendly and service was quick. My fiancée ordered the Italian and said it was 4 out of 5 stars, but it probably would have 5 if he hadn’t tried the cheesesteak.

Roast beef sandwich was fantastic. One guy running the shop and he was friendly and quick. Looking forward to returning. We eat in Maynard regularly and this is, by far, the best place for anything on a bun.

Best subs in the Maynard. Also they make a real good chicken Caesar salad. The staff is super friendly. Every time I order I get it the same way and never over cooked.

I’m by no means an aficionado of Philly cheese steaks(having a primarily vegetarian diet) but do recognize quality ingredients and preparation. Willy’s cheese steaks have flavorful, well shredded meat, and perfectly toasted rolls. Similarly, if you’re looking for super satisfying(and deliciously unhealthy) onion rings and cheese fries, look no further. Every interaction I’ve had with the employees has been up to Maynard’s standards of friendliness(is everyone in Maynard *ridiculously* affable and hail-fellow?). So glad this place is in Maynard. It’s really a hidden gem.

Delicious cheese steak subs with mushrooms and green peppers. Juicy delicious… add an order of sweet potatoes to complete your meal… yummy!

Really good Roast Beef sandwiches — they do it right = rare roast beef, barbecue sauce and thinly sliced onions on an Onion Roll(or regular roll or sub) — nicely done! The cold cuts for all subs and sandwiches are sliced super thin(a plus in my book) and all sandwiches are loaded with meats and cheeses. Really good pastrami as well and to top it all off they serve Cheese Wiz as a cheese option(only place I’ve seen this outside Philadelphia — nice touch). A real good lunch/sandwich option in Maynard center.

Can’t say that I’ve had a better roast beef sandwich in my life. For a hole in the wall they set the standard for sandwiches. Polite, timely and I can drink a beer at the same time.

First off the food is the bomb! Lots of options for sandwiches, steak bombs, pizza and salads. They’ll customize your order and hook you up with whatever you want. Second, the service goes above and beyond. These guys are the friendliest and it always brings me back!

Run of the mill, not impressed. I’ve had Pat’s & Geno’s. This is pale comparison to a Philly cheese steak. was warm and eatable, mushroom and onions ??? I had to search for them ! The swiss cheese was one slice broken up into pieces ?? Would never try again ! Overflowing trash ! Need to work on there game

Tried again this week, and same experience. The steak sub was laden with gristly chunks of God knows what, and that for over $ 10 for a steak/cheese/mushroom. Best part of the experience was the young lady behind the counter who was attentive and pleasant. Won’t go back for some time. Consider TJ Landos in Acton for a steak sub that’s… steak.

Rude, crude, overpriced and they messed up our orders. These guys act as if they are so good, they can be rude. Unfortunately, they are not good enough. We really were excited to try them and made a nice $ 50 order. Half the items were wrong and the other half were just ok. Certainly not worth the drive or the above average prices. When you are in Maynard and hungry for subs, keep driving.

Amazing roast beef sandwich. Get the large on the fresh toasted bun. 3 ways — mayo, amer cheese, and the tangy sauce. Kelly’s doesn’t have a chance. Chris and his team at Willys have just taken things to a new level. Wow… Do yourself a favor… The Cobb salad is still amazing… A really good deal for a fresh salad chock full of fresh grilled chicken and all kinds of other goodies…
