Like others have said, this is one of the stingier locations. I live a 2 minute walk away and go here more often than I’d like to admit. I’m a vegetarian, so I get the veggie. When I’m paying for a sandwich that’s all veggies, I’d like to think that they would give more than just the sprinkling they regularly do. I have literally seen the kid making the sandwich put 2 slices of olive on a sub once! When I first moved here they were better, I think they went under new management or ownership and they’re being coached to lighten up on stuff to cut costs. As others have said, the place is ALWAYS empty. It’s also very clean, which is good. Also, their sub club card reader doesn’t work. They claim I need to register it but I did register it. So I never get to accrue points onto it. Lame — and it makes me wonder if it’s purposefully so that they don’t have to dole out points.

The subs they make have almost no veggies on them. I always have to ask for more. They also say they’re open until 9 but they often close«early» but don’t have it posted on the website. I actually drive out of my way to Acton to go to the Subway there when I want it.

Stingy servings of meat + cheese! Really, not to be believed. My sandwich might as well have been mustard + mayo on a roll…

I have come in here on multiple occasions and it’s close, quiet, and convenient. The issue I have is with the staff, there is some kid in there who happens to be very large and obnoxious who constantly hits on women when they are there. He has asked my girlfriend on numerous occasions to hang out with him. And lets face it nobody wants to go into a sub shop and be hit on and feel uncomfortable. Plus the manger or owners kid is always running around with her friends screaming or just being annoying. Not the place to go. Better off with any of the pizza shops in Maynard.

Fun sub shop: fairly clean and usually very friendly. Amanda is wonderful! We are frequent visitors.

The staff is ok. My biggest issue was the owner was there to fix the credit card machine. He had his kid with him, his kid grabbed some meat and put it inthe toaster. The stood there and ate it with his hands 2 feet fromthe sandwich station. I would hate to see what happens when nO one is looking. Do you really want some kids germs all over your uncooked subs? Nice right, worst part was the owner didnt even seem to mind. Gross.

The restaurant is clean and the management is good, the main problem is the current crew they have making sandwiches. I’ve been going here from work regularly for almost 2 years and there has been a fair amount of turnover, as there will be with any fast food franchise. They’re quick with making the food and getting you rung up, but the current sandwich makers are extremely stingy with the toppings and sauce which makes for a piss poor sandwich. Hopefully with time they get better or the manager, who’s always been good, fires them and get’s some new blood in there.

I cannot bring myself to give any sub shop five stars :). This Subway is always immaculate with great staff. Seriously, how do these people stay so upbeat while making sandwich after sandwich? I love that I can get a healthy, inexpensive meal on the fly. Whole wheat bread? Check! Ample veggies? Check! Sometimes there is a line, but considering they are making ‘custom’ sammies, they move quickly! One improvement would be if they carried a low fat Italian dressing for the subs, but I just have a drizzle of vinegar and some herbs and it’s all good!

It’s irritating when I give someone a decent review and then have a lousy experience the next time I visit. I would expect that when you’re not in a prime location, and your business never seems busy that you would do everything in your power to ensure the customer has a good experience and continues to be a repeat customer. I swung by to grab lunch. and as usual the place was empty. I ordered my sandwich and when it came to the toppings I noticed that all the lettuce was turning brown. Obviously I passed on that. I ended up with cucumber and banana peppers. If you owned a sandwich shop would you really serve brown lettuce to your customers? I sure wouldn’t. Basically the sandwich did not taste fresh and the veggies were not even crisp like they should be. If you can’t even bother to put out some fresh toppings then I can’t bother to be your customer. On the plus side the employee was very friendly.

Maynard has quite a variety of restaurants within walking distance, but you may walk or drive right through town without even knowing there’s a Subway. Located directly behind CVS in the only remaining section of the former Maynard mall building, Subway is one of six places in town to get a sub(with four of the other five being pizza places). It’s your typical Subway restaurant with some tables for dining there. It’s usually fairly clean and the staff are reasonably friendly. I’ve never had a bad experience here… but haven’t had any exceptional ones either.(…although I won’t forget being there when a pipe burst and flooded the place either.) Unfortunately for Subway, their location is not visible from the street at all. With competition from five other places(including Willy’s Phillys, a sub specialty shop right on Main Street), it’s never too crowded and you can’t help but wonder how they stay in business.
