I attempted to visit the property with a relative last summer, and was stood up for our appointment even though we had arranged a tour a few days earlier. We tried calling them several times but our calls went unanswered. However, honestly, seeing the dilapidated building and unpaved parking lot(coupled with the property manager not showing up or answering his phone/lack of a front desk/etc) was enough to convince us that in reality this place is nothing like the pictures. Do a Google Street view or better yet ask a friend in Boston to attempt to get a tour… I would not advise booking this place sight unseen as you will be in for quite a surprise when you arrive. This does not look like a particularly clean or safe(unsecured windows in summer due to window units for ac) place to stay.

I’ve stayed here a few times now. The place is as it appears on the website pictures, very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Both times I have stayed, the other tenants were friendly but kept to themselves. It’s walking distance to everything you would need, and only 30 minutes or so from Boston. The property manager is a nice fellow, and very responsive to phone calls.

DONOTSTAYHERE!!! This place is not only the worse looking house in the entire town, but it is also on the worst street in the town. First Impression: it looks like a dilapidated crack house. It should never, ever be rented sight unseen. My Experience: The property manager was 30 minutes late to my move-in appointment — leaving me outside the house knocking and trying desperately to get a hold of someone to figure out what was going on – and when he finally showed up his eyes were incredibly bloodshot(I assume from drugs). He walked me to my room which was about one third of the size the pictures on the internet and the conversations I had with the property owners lead me to believe. Basic Safety Issues: 1. The locks on the bedroom doors are NOT replaced after every tenant. 2. The freaky property manager has keys to your bedroom 3. All locks on the bathrooms are so basic that any five year old could pick them 4. The security of the building entry itself is questionable at best. After deciding that I would NEVER spend a night there(mostly because I thought I might be killed and also because it was such a crappy option that being homeless was actually more desirable) I went down to the police station to ask about the safety of the residence. The police couldn’t say too much because it is a business. But I did express the fact that I thought it looked like an unsafe drug house and they advised me to go with my gut reaction to the house and to follow my intuition. Enough said. I mean, I guess standards are difficult to explain to people. But I never though my standards were incredibly high until I stepped foot into a place that I was told was«lovely» and«so nice!» To call it «lovely» is a blatant lie. There are no two ways about it. I spoke with the property owner and demanded a refund. Although he eventually agreed to my request, he did deduct a week’s rent from the refund(although, again, I never spent more time in that hell hole than 10 minutes). To say he and his staff are incompetent is doing them a kindness. Despite clear directions, they repeatedly sent my refund to The Maynard Stay — again, I never lived there! I am honestly surprised and sad that these people are still in business. I am not sad because of my experience; I am sad for society and for the fact that I had to suffer their lies and incompetence. I can not say it enough: DONOTSTAYHERE!!! Almost any other option would be better. Seriously.

DONOTSTAYHERE! THISPLACEIS A CRAP. The caretakers of this property will NEVER pick up calls. We had our move-in scheduled at 8am and we were waiting outside the property for half an hour calling both Winston and Brittany but in vain. The«updated bathrooms» are NEVER clean. You gotta sit on shitty toilets often. Better not to use them. Few of our things(including food from the fridge) were stolen from our room on the day of cleaning. There was no proper response from the property manager. The reason given by them was the foods were expired. Isn’t this unethical? The caretaker is always drunk. Don’t expect a proper reply from him. He will never be along with the cleaner during the bi-weekly cleaning as the mail claims. And to top it all, a sneaky cat keeps coming inside the building through an opening on a window. Be ready to find a cat when you open your door in the morning. We were very happy to vacate this place even before the end of our lease-term.

Please do not go by what the AD on craigslist says and visit the property before you decide to stay here. It is very difficult to reach Brittany/Randolph/Winston who are the stakeholders for this property. This place is ridiculous. I had a very short stay at this place and was really irritated with the way the business functions. The care taker Winston is not helpful. Both my move-in/out experience was very unpleasant. We were kept waiting for 30 minutes when we moved in. If you leave stuff behind in your room then forget about the stuff as they are whisked away and not returned by the generous/so-called honest cleaning people. Very shabby maintenance and the bathrooms/toilets are not cleaned regularly/maintained. Even the cleaning staff is not up to the mark. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
