I’ve never been to Pei Wei before but my sister is a big fan so we went. The food was actually very good! I ordered the Korean barbecue with quinoa and it was like bibimbop with quinoa instead of rice so it’s much healthier than already healthy Korean food. I will definitely eat here if I’m in the area. I originally avoided Pei Wei because I don’t like lemongrass or cilantro but my sister said that those ingredients are only in some of their food

Terrible food. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai. It was disgusting. …Raw meat(I hope it was chicken). It was waste of money and I left hungry. They started as pretty descent place to eat year or two ago and now… what a disappointment.

Decent spot for a quick bite to eat. For the money vs. the food its good not great but good like said before for a lunch stop. Its owned by PF Chang so I guess that might be why people are giving this plsce alot of praise maybe???

Surprisingly good Americanized Asian-fusion cuisine, flying under the PF Chang’s umbrella. Come in, order your food at the cashier, take your number and you’ll be brought your food when it’s ready. How long you wait can be hit and miss, depending on when you come and what you’re ordering. I’d put this place somewhere above Panda Express and Sarku and those types of places, it really is surprising coming from someone who knows authentic Chinese food. If you’re shopping at Bergen Town Center, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for you to go out of your way and trek outside across the parking lot to dine here.

Great fresh Asian food! Everything tastes great and not expensive at all! Lots of drink options to choose from with two of the Coke freestyle machines and also an assortment of teas. They have chicken, steak, tofu, and even veggies to cater to all types of hungry people! I had the honey chicken with brown rice and it completely filled me up! Fast and friendly service. Good for a quick bite to eat or to have a nice meal! They also have a pick up option.

3.5 stars Clean. OK staff. Average priced meals, leaning towards expensive for what it is. And they’re not as tasty. I feel all the dishes I’ve tried are under seasoned. I understand it’s not authentic Chinese where as they make use of seasoning a lot… But it was just bland. And I think that’s basic, to season and taste your cooking. We had to put a ton of the red chilli sauce on our food to have flavor…

Had the chicken pad thai here and literally all it was, was– chicken, noodles, and tofu. Is this what you call chicken pad thai? I asked our food runner«doesn’t it come with peanuts?» and she brought it back and put peanuts, but still– it was lacking bean sprouts/cilantro leaves and carrots/veggies/something! I had pad thai at numerous places before but this place was the first, where it was so simple, yet not good. The crab wontons were good here, and the chai black tea which didn’t taste like chai at all– more like unsweetened pomegranate tea, that’s just me. The honey chicken was nothing special. Crab wontons were best part of the meal. Will be back to give it another try though.

We really love the Thai wonton soup. But that’s literally the only menu item that makes this place worth it. I’ve tried coming here numerous times and giving them the benefit of the doubt, and they fall short every time. Just tonight, my boyfriend and I stopped in there to pick up some takeout. The restaurant was hardly crowded at all(I counted 6 occupied tables while we were waiting) yet we still waited more than 20 minutes for our two takeout entrees to get prepared. Not only that, but they had no Thai wonton soup made. The menu here is already quite limited, so to run out of a staple menu item like that is 100 percent unacceptable. Especially since that was literally the only reason we came in. I’ve tried giving this place many chances. Tonight will definitely be my last visit.

I didn’t know that this place was owned by the same owners of PF changs at first but as soon as I did went straight ahead and ordered the lettuce wraps. Ordering is a little odd in that you order and pay first and then sit down compared to traditional waiter service. They also don’t really tell you how big things are. Anyways got the traditional lettuce wraps and was decently sized for one person and can totally be a meal. It was also tasted very good. My friend got the Dan Dan noodles and said it tasted good as well. She gave her Asian approval(she is Asian). This place is definitely a lesser version of PF changs but for the buck I would say it is worth it.

I eat at Pei Wei usually about once a month. It fills a void in the Asian food restaurant market, offering the ease of ordering off a large menu at the counter and having your food delivered to your table. Choices are plentiful with the recent addition of a few creative but limited sushi choices. Portions are more than adequate and the food is quite good. This is PF Chang’s light, offering a more dumbed down menu with less creativity and with it, much lower prices. A meal with a drink averages about $ 10, making it a solid value and a more upscale and healthy alternative to fast food. For about the same price as Chipotle you can get what I consider superior quality and tons more variety. Service is attentive and friendly. The staff is more than willing to answer questions or run to the back to fetch chopsticks, silverware or hot sauce. One negative is cleanliness. The bathroom is generally in disarray, something that particularly skeeves me. There was also soda spilled on one of our chairs last night that had dried and was never wiped up. if I would have sat down without noticing, I would have been pissed. Despite these drawbacks and a fairly slow moving line that I attribute to confusion over the rather lengthy menu choices, Pei Wei is a solid choice for lunch or dinner. It bridges the gap between an elegant Chinese meal and fast food with creativity & deliciousness all at a very reasonable price. I’m surprised there aren’t more locations.

So we had an abundance of pf cheng gift cards and I was looking at and saw that the cards are accepted at a place called Pei Wei. Now I have never been to one before but knew that there was one in the back of the Bergen Mall, so we decided to try it out. When we first walked in I was super confused bc there were menu’s on screens. I went to push my order in, it wouldn’t go lol. So I needed instruction. The guy was super nice and explained that I tell him my order and that we could take a seat with our number and a waiter would bring the food. It was strange I admit. The feeling of self service but it wasn’t? Anyway they had one of those futuristic soda dispensers with over 100 types of soda on there and my guy and I had our favorite, Cherry vanilla coke. Omg heaven… And we sampled a few others such cherry gingerale, mello, and some other stuff which I forget now. But it had an area for utensils, teas, beverages, lemons, orange wedges, to go boxes and even fortune cookies! It was a cool concept. So we ended up ordering the mango sushi, only one order of 4 bc it was late and they were out of most sushis by that point. We also got the crab wontons which were really good, nice and crunchy and mostly crab, not just cream cheese. Then I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and my guy got the Chicken Teriyaki. The food came out hot and fast and there was lots of it! The portions were nice! His food was really good, the chicken was super fresh and real pan seared, in a wok-chicken, not that usual crap chinese-food, chicken. My pad thai was also delicious!!! Seriously the 2nd best I have probably ever had which is strange considering it was a quick service place. They really had good food, better then any delivery I have had. The vibe of this place was just cool, and the price right for all the food we had, the bill was only $ 29! And they had the cutest little take out boxes that were by the untensils and you could take them and fill the yourself. The only thing i didn’t get was whether or not to tip the waiter. I was scanning the room to see what others were doing and I saw that out of 6 tables that left not one left a tip. It was odd bc you order food from the front guy then another brings your food real quick, and you clean up yourself! I was gonna leave one but I noticed the guy that did actually serve us, had put his jacket on and left as we were about to get up. I will catch him next time! All in all we have a lot of PF chengs gift cards and I’d rather spend them there! And I will!

Casual atmosphere where you order at the counter and take a number. The food runners then bring the food out to you. Everything is made as you order and I’ve never had any issues with my food order being messed up. I often get the small steak pad thai(yes, you can get portion sizes) and it’s just the perfect amount of food to have. It’s not as spicy(even when you order it extra spicy) as say, an authentic thai restaurant would make their pad thai, but still tasty. Sometimes it’s a bit oily but sometime’s it’s not. Either way, pretty good. There are to-go containers and condiments at the back of the restaurant where you can self-serve yourself. The soda fountain machine is pretty cool and they have lots of drink options. Similar to Bobby’s Burger Palace, if you plan on eating here, I’d recommend bringing a dollar or two to leave for the people who bus your table after you leave. There is nowhere for you to bring your dirty dishes, and I’ve seen the servers clean up after people once they left.

Solid meal when you’re in a pinch. Came here after shopping at the Bergen Town Center outlets. Some reviewers seem unhappy with the food but this is an American chain, and you can’t expect traditional Asian food. We had the summer rolls, which were probably frozen but not bad. Dan dan noodles with shrimp were delicious. Unfortunately, my bf wasn’t too happy with his chicken lettuce wrap(the minced meat was a little off). We also had a freestyle soda with unlimited refills of any flavor you’d like to try. Overall, not a bad experience.

I don’t like Asian Fusion. I don’t like fusion period. I feel like it takes away the identity of food. Pei Wei does not serve bad food, but it’s just not Asian. I had the chicken dan dan noodles. These«egg noodles» were more like spaghetti than egg noodles. Sauce was OK, but nothing like any dandan noodles I’ve had. I was also expecting waiter service since this place is a «diner». But it’s more like Smashburger. Order your food and the counter and you get a number, then they bring the food to your table. I’d rather get take out than eat here.

Came around 11:30 during the week. First one in the door. Loved that it wasn’t crowded. Food was excellent. Had the Pei Wei Spicy and a spring roll. Both were hot coming out and delicious going down. Service was great. Food came out fast. Very clean inside. Enjoyed the music as well. I’d come back.

I’m not sure why this place has such low ratings. Like the door says, it’s P.F. Changs… just more casual. I came in for lunch and kept it simple with a single vegetable spring roll(mistake) and the traditional chicken lettuce wraps. I say mistake on the spring rolls because I should have ordered more. It was delicious, perfectly cooked. The sauce it was served with was equally good. A spicy apricot in my opinion. The lettuce wraps were good. I liked the flavor of the chicken. The sauce it came with, not so much. I used the remaining sweet/spicy sauce I had and then they were on point..

This place should really have a better Unilocal page. Their food is really really good. They make it fast and have a great variety. I ordered the chicken lo mien, and it was delicious. Needed some extra soy sauce or something to give it salt. The noodles were a bit greasy but it just added to it all. The fountain drink machine with a million mixes is the best too. Try the lemonade with raspberry !!
