Popeye’s Famous Fried Chicken

I am not sure why there is so much hate for this Popeye’s. I have nothing but amazing experiences every time we go here.
We love fried chicken in my house. It is one of our go to meals to the point where we have figured out who has the best discount based on the day of the week. Popeye’s is our Tuesday’s chicken deal. For $ 3.99, you get 2 pieces (white or dark), a side, and a delicious biscuit. Great deal, right? The added bonus? Everyone loves this deal! They are turning around the chicken fast. You always get fresh, hot chicken no matter what time you stop by.
The store is always spotless and clean. Admittedly, I have never been to the bathroom. I always just stop in, pick up chicken, and go home to eat. But… Based on the cleanliness of the store, I can only imagine how clean the bathroom would be.
The customer service for us has been stellar. On a few times, it was almost strangely outstanding. The first time, the employees even addressed my boyfriend as «sir». That isn’t the norm but the staff always helps us and is incredibly polite.
All in all, I am glad this is our local Popeye’s. It is far superior to other locations I have entered. We will definitely continue to come here!

They’re a hit or miss nowadays. On Tuesday when they have that meal deal 2pc for 3.99 it’s always fresh. On Sundays it’s usually fresh too, but on any other day. FLIP A COIN going here. It’s alot of young kids that work here so the service is also unpredictable. I’ve been going here since I was a kid so it’s not a new spot. One thing they have that other Popeye’s don’t are the old school biscuits. This is the only reason I continue to come here! The other Popeye’s biscuits suck!!!

Tonight was one of the worse nights getting food here. We ordered a 4pc combo with red beans n rice with an extra rbnr. Had a piece of chicken that I did not know what piece it was. All hard and dried out. One of the sides the top had a hole in the middle food was spilling out. I know whom ever fixed our food was aware of it. Frequent Popeyes often but this is by far the worse one ever. Some of them need to be trained in customer service, and not act like they are in the comforts of their homes. I gave 1 star only because I had no choice.

This place sucks to high hell PERIOD! Staff was ghetto as hell. They are CHEAP as hell (who charges for packs of honey). Food was sorry as hell (got an unrecognizable piece of hard dried out chicken and red beans and rice that tasted watered down, and one of them had a hole in the lid). In conclusion, and I reiterate, this place sucks to high hell!

I have been reading Unilocal for years. My experience this evening at this ‘restaurant’ has compelled me to leave my first review.
In my 40 years of fast food dining this was easily one of the worst 5 experiences I have ever had.
Do not go to this dump — you have been warned!

This is by far the nastiest Popeye’s I have ever eaten out of. My sister got sick as hell for 3 days. I ate a chicken sandwich and had the runs for 2 days. My son had a 2-​piece and was feeling sick to his stomach afterwards. I go to the Popeye’s on Mannheim Road in Melrose Park. It’s out of my way, but it’s worth me and my family’s health!

This is one of the most ghetto places I have ever been to or should I say the staff was ghetto. However I cant front the food was piping hot and fresh. The biscuits were hot and melt in your mouth and the joint was clean. The best thing of all they serve Strawberry Pop. I have not had that since I was like 5 years old. I didn’t even think they made it anymore.
