I ordered the glazed donut. I took one bite, then threw it away. My husband had a twist, also inedible. The flavor was so off putting– a strong sour flavor. The texture was firm & dense, but it was the flavor that made them inedible. The best tasting donut in town is Happy Donut. Always fresh & light.

Very impressed with this place! The donuts are melt-in-your-mouth delicious and they have a great variety. Very friendly staff. Definitely save room for a long john, apple fritter and the donut holes — they are sublime!

A very humble location, not somewhere you’d expect much out of, but the donuts are always perfect. Nothing fancy, just the most perfectly textured, warm and fresh classic donuts I’ve had in McKinney. The lady that owns the place is very sweet and polite, and definitely deserves all of the business this review might bring. If you just want a damn good donut first thing in the morning, and you’re driving by downtown, stop by, you definitely won’t regret it. I stop in and get at least a couple of glazed donuts and a Kolache every time I drive by to go to down town if I’m in the mood for sweets.

We have found our favorite local donut spot! Four stars for really, really good donuts and excellent service. The donuts are fresh, soft, and sometimes so fresh that they’re warm. Mouth-watering. Also conveniently located next to the Square and off of Highway 5, our regular route. As others have mentioned, this is just a basic donut spot, nothing fancy and not a lot of variety. It’s a hole-in-the-wall, but that’s all we need!

I agree 100% with Jacob & Davud C., the donuts and the service are excellent! We had some time to kill(like 2 hours!) before going to Mass and thought we’d stop and get a donut. Looked up info on Unilocal and was not disappointed! The lady was super nice with smiles to spare. She did not rush us or the customers in front of us. She even offered to make more glazed donuts for another customer but he declined the 10 minute wait. While there’s not a huge variety, there was plenty of the classics to choose from. I’m a plain chocolate and donut hole gal myself so this suited me perfectly. There were several breakfast sandwiches to choose from and even chocolate donut holes! There are a couple of cases of drinks to choose from as well: sodas, juices, milks. Plenty of room to sit at any of the tables. There isn’t much room to stand in line as you come in, but the steady flow of traffic was nice, not too cramped. We will be coming out of our way to stop by here again for sure. Try it out, you won’t be sorry!

The donuts are always fresh and warm, as is the service. Everything tastes great, and it has a great selection to choose from. The family that runs it does a great job!

I like donuts. Maybe that means I’ll be battling a spare tire later in life, but for now, bring on the fried goodness. Since moving to McKinney 4 years go, I’ve hit up several different donut shops. None of them really stand out — they’re almost interchangable. Except for Donuts R More. You wouldn’t think it to look on the place. Its humble location is deceptive. Before I go any further, let’s be clear: these aren’t amazing or fancy donuts that folks in Dallas should trek up for. They are simply the best of their kind. Their glazed is simple, but soft and delicious — perfect amount of chewy to crispy ratio. Glazed donut holes are maybe even better. Crème/jelly-filled are filled when you order them to keep them fresh. And the apple fritters — sweet heavens — the apple fritters. I get one every time I go.(In fact, I love them so much I named one of my guinea pigs«Fritter» — yup, that’s the orange fella you see in my profile pic.) The donuts alone wouldn’t be enough for the 5 star rating, though. What puts it over the top is the sweet lady who runs it, along with her cute daughters who help out on the weekend. She’s such a nice woman, and she always remembers us. In fact, when she sees me she just smiles and gets an apple fritter ready for me while asking how I’ve been lately. That’s the kind of service that keeps me coming back.
