Cowboy chicken is the only good thing about McAllen Texas.
Chicken enchiladas are amazing and I don’t even like enchiladas. Everything is cooked to perfection and flavored perfectly. You really don’t need to put any salt, bbq, or hot sauce on anything because the flavor are already perfect.
Only thing I did not like is the Spanish rice. Kinda mushy like mashed potatoes.

The chicken is soft and juicy BUT I thought it could’ve used a bit more seasoning but it can be just personal preference. The sides are very good. The beans taste very authentic and the fire roasted veggies were also quite good. I will try and duplicate them at home! That’s how impressed I was with the veggies.

I love this place. I live just a few blocks away and I thought I had already wrote a review, but no. First off their chicken is the best rotisserie ever. It’s fresh, unlike other places where you wonder how long it’s been sitting or if it’s warned up. Not here! So fresh and moist you won’t believe it. Prices are really reasonable as a whole chicken is around $ 8-​$ 9. You can get the plates or buy a family meal. Our favorites are the okra, macaroni, and the double baked potatoes. I haven’t tried their cookies but they look amazing. The help is very nice and attentive. Sweet tea is relish. Highly recommend if you haven’t been. Really, what are you waiting for?

Wood fire or grilled chicken served up plain or in tacos, sandwiches, enchiladas or salads with 17 side choices. Food is served in individual portions or family meals. There are so many delicious-​sounding choices that it was hard to decide what to order! We found both the grilled and rotisserie chicken to be very tender and flavorful. The sides were a bit under-​seasoned for my taste, but still good. The cucumber/​tomato salad was very fresh. The blackberry cobbler was overly sweet and mushy. We ordered it without ice cream, but I think it would be better with ice cream.
The food was served quickly, the restaurant was pleasantly decorated, the service was excellent and we enjoyed our food. We would eat here again and would certainly recommend it.

¼ white was juicy, soft and tasty. Twice baked potaters, green beans, and baked sweet potatoe are great side choices. The BBQ sauce topped it all off. also 4 choices of tea.

Delicious rotisserie chicken, done right. I have a three piece dark with baked sweet potato andtomato and cucumber salad.$ 7.49 I didn’t know how good a baked sweet potato with no butter or seasonings could taste, it’s delicious and heart healthy. The tomato and cucumber salad had onions and cilantro in it it was delicious as well I can’t say enough good things about the rotisserie chicken very flavorful and the skin was season and crispy the chicken was baked to perfection interior of the restaurant is very clean and comfortable televisions with football games on Sunday morning I highly recommend this restaurant

Cowboys Chicken wood fired chickens are awesome! The $ 4.99 lunch special hits the spot. The chicken is well seasoned and has delicious crispy skin and the meat falls off the bone. My favorite sides are Mac n cheese, ranchero beans or fried okra. Highly recommend!

Was staying at a hotel for a convention and needed some quick food for a hour lunch break. When looking to see who might deliver without us having to fight traffic and waste time not knowing the area we researched to find this cowboy chicken that we haven’t ever ate before. My wife called and the customer service over the phone was excellent with great explanation of the menu. Delivery service was very prompt leaving us with plenty of time to chow down on this amazing meal. It was hard to believe it was delivered food as we sat down in this hotel room eating what tasted like a great home cooked meal. The chicken has a wonderful light fire grilled smoked taste and skin seasoned perfect. We got the fire grilled veggies which also had the same light smoked flavor but so so good. I would recommend this place not only for the food but service to anyone on the go or wanting a great place to sit down and enjoy a great southern cooked meal.

Best chicken in the valley period. The portions are large and the meals are hot. Very good value for the money and the Watermelon Iced Tea is the best. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ohh soooo fricking good. I always get a half chicken plate. Chicken is juicy and tender and yum. Sweet potato and ranchero beans are delicious. They have 4 wings for $ 1 too! Yummmmm. I never walk away hungry here.

This place is around the corner from my office. We have made it in for lunch a few times and have never been disappointed. The chicken with the house bbq sauce makes for a great taste. The food is out quickly & staff is attentive. Great place to hit up for lunch.

Great local restaurant with wonderful service and hot made to order food. I came twice in the same week. I got the 3 piece dark meat the first time and chicken enchiladas the second time. I’ve tried 4 of the sides. The green beans that were tasty, the Mac and cheese that was very moist (although I would have preferred more cheddar flavor), the ranchero beans, and my absolute favorite, the cucumber tomato salad. Loved that salad. So fresh with cilantro and a dressing I wish I could buy. You need to try this place. You won’t be disappointed.

I had a 3 piece dark chicken with sides of mac n cheese and ranchero beans. It was soooooooo delicious! The chicken is cooked over wood fire and it’s so juicy! The Mac n cheese is to die for! The whole staff is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable.

Tried this restaurant again and I must say… It was a lot better! Less crowded and the food was so good! I tried the chicken enchiladas. They needed more chicken but the sauce was so tasty! Mac n cheese was delish too! It’s a healthier option around town so will continue to go there
