I have been a long time member, and I had a terrible experience with the manager, Oscar. When I called to voice concerns, the manager yelled at me repeatedly and told me terrible things over the phone. The manager of the gym yelled continually at me, raised his voice, and became upset when I told him my concerns. At one point he insulted me. He called me a «wise ass» when I tried to tell him my point of view. I am not used to that kind of language. I then asked him please, not to raise his voice, but he kept yelling. I do not feel comfortable or safe going back when the staff is so abusive to it’s patrons.

Here for work this week, and I am long time member of Gold’s Gym. I was under impression I could work out at any Gold’s gym around the country as long as it is not highest tier based on my membership. I walked in and showed them my keycard and scanned it, and they said that I was a member of Gold’s corporate and this was a franchise location. The guy came off pretty hostile in verifying if I was a current member, automatically assuming I was pulling a fast one and smirking the whole time as if he caught me in the act. Pretty bad customer service and the upstairs smells like fart. If you are signing up for a Gold’s gym membership, make sure it is a Corporate location and not a franchise.

Good luck getting your money refunded after you’ve terminated your contract— somehow they never seem to be able to do that right. There’s never a manager there to speak to nor will they return your call. Biggest pain in the ass of a gym. Their trainers are extremely overpriced for the quality of their service. Would never join a Gold’s again

Stay away from this gym! My experience was similar to Charles C. In that I canceled my membership and they continue to charge my credit card. I don’t check it very closely every month so they billed me for six additional months and when I called to talk to somebody they say I have to talk to the manager. I ask to have him call me back and he never called. I sent him an email and he never responded. I canceled because the back office staff is generally incompetent. I did do the paperwork and it never got into the system! There are many other gyms. Go someplace else!
