McAlister’s Deli

Good food at good prices. The chili is awesome, and so are the sandwiches and salads. Their tea is great too. The workers can be somewhat stupid but the food makes up for it.

I read the reviews and tried it because they carry a turkey cranberry salad that I love, and their salad was very good. They didn’t skimp on the pecans and crans, and it was very fresh. I also ordered a bowl of chili which I do not recommend. Flavor was too similar to Wienerschnitzel, and appearance was NOT appetizing. Chili should not have finely ground meat! Another con was music inside was far too loud. I will come back to try a sandwich.

Decent food-​pretty much your standard McAlisters fare. Was pretty busy overall during lunch rush.

After ordering a spud and sat down the waitresses came back and let me know they were out of spuds. I asked her for sandwich instead. Then she came back and said I needed to pay the difference first. But in order to pay the difference I needed to go wait in line. The manger who took care of the refund didn’t bother to ask what was wrong. The entire staff did not look happy at all. Never going back.

We walked in place was dirty food all over table’s and floor. We already had inclination that we were in for a bad experience by the way the place looked. «Janice «we named the person at the counter due to the fact she no name tag and funny thing is she responded to that name. We placed an order but had to repeat it umpteenth times and she was still confused a fellow employee at the same time while placing our order asked her a question and she looked overwhelmed clearly she cannot multi task with that said we were worried she would muck up our order, so we left.

This fast casual restaurant offers far more than most delis, with a large selection of sandwiches, soups, and salads to choose from. I would compare it to a Panera Bread on steroids.
I ate here with two college friends, one of whom had already been to this establishment on several occasions as a local.
I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Griller sandwich along with a broccoli and cheddar soup and was very satisfied with my meal. The portion size was fairly generous for this type of establishment, certainly more generous than that of Panera Bread or the clones I have visited throughout the Northeast.
On Sundays, they have a great deal where their «Pick 2» deal (such as a soup and ½ sandwich) is just $ 5.99 all day.
Hopefully, we will not need to wait long before McAlister’s hits the New York City metropolitan area. It looks like they are approaching the Washington, D.C. area with their location in Herndon, VA. Panera Bread really needs some competition as they are one of the only, if not the only, players of its kind in the NYC area, and as a result, the quality of the food there has taken a back seat over the years.

I really like this McAllisters. Normally I would rate a standard restaurant like this 3 – 4 stars because it’s relatively routine, however, since I have consistently received good service and good food in a pleasant environment from this McAllisters over the past few years, I chose to give it 5 stars. It’s one of our go-​to places for a casual date or relatively healthy meal.

My husband has lunch here often, but today was my first visit. I had a turkey pepper jack sandwich and enjoyed it. I had a side of potato salad that was okay. My son had the loaded potato and raved that he loved it. We were all happy with our meal and service.

Good service good food. Didn’t wait long to order. Salads are amazing!!! Nothing wrong with food it was just as I ordered. Great experience every time I visit!

I have to say that I am very out off my meal because of the casual way the waiter is in being disrespectful. I over looked it the first four times on this visit. But the last one was just a little much.

Went today for a roast beef sandwich and was grossed out by the bugs that were inside the sandwich! Yes! I said BuGS! I cannot believe and chain such as Mcallister wouldn’t be conscious on how to handle food properly! And the bugs were big and obvious on the sandwich! I will never go back to this restaurant again, I’m sure this is not the first time it’s happen!

The muffalata is huge and tasty weighing in at over 1200 calories for the half size the roasted vegetable soup did not sit well on my palate having a strange taste

Great soups (potato and brocoli and cheese) and drinks. Everything else is like a bad version of jason’s deli.

After a year of not coming due to horrendous service, I can now say I’ll come back more often.
Service was fast (about five minutes after ordering), and the portions were of a good size. Salad and sandwich were fresh and tasted good.

This is a pretty new location right next to the McAllen Convention Center. Their food is very fresh and they have a very friendly staff. Be sure when you go to McAlister’s that you get their SWEET TEA! It is some of the best in Texas I promise

I went in here to buy some time while I waited for someone. I had only a lemonade but I was intrigued by the menu. The atmosphere is very nice, it makes you feel like you’re out of the valley. I’ll go back again soon to try the food.

I’ve been here a few times, and the staff is ultra-​attentive. The grub has always been good, and never an issue. The tea is also really good. Keep up the good work!
