The remodel is quite the change, but I do still enjoy the atmosphere and really love the coffee. Their espresso and drip coffees are handcrafted and roasted locally… always a plus! Really enjoying their«pour over» process. That’s time and care given to customers for that fresh, specially made cup. It’s so excellent. Each morning I go in, the young manager is always eager to help out… she has a warm, welcoming personality and always has great suggestions when I don’t feel like sticking to the norm. The rest of the staff is quite friendly too; 9 out of 10 times they have a smile on their face and always look hard at work. What I enjoy the most about this place is that you can tell everyone genuinely enjoys working with each other. Happiness within the employees… That’s the start of great customer service! The only downside to this place is if you’re trying to get work done on a laptop/tablet/some sort of device during a busy night of theirs, there are not many outlets. Regular customers know which seats to take, so my recommendation is you get there as early as you can and find yourself a good seat! I can overlook the outlet situation because of how much I enjoy this place. I make my way to Moonbeans before/after work about once or twice a week, but each time is such an enjoyable experience that I wish I was there more frequently! Truly is a Valley staple! Hands down the best coffee shop in the RGV.

Their Orio Orbit is delicious! I get it every time. Service is pretty quick. I only wish they had more outlets for electronics. And the parking lot gets crazy full.

Quality has gone downhill over time. Pretentious snobby staff doesn’t help, but what else would you expect from a small chain coffee joint? Better than Starbucks for sure but jitterz is where you will want to go for quality cup of coffee in the RGV.

Fantastic customer service and delicious drip coffee. m, IMO. The coffee cake was delicious, but it could have used some whipped crème on the side. They also were out of almond and soy milk at the time of our visit.

Oh moonbeans. You have lost your principle and become a profit centered entity. Refusing to double cup my tea when you ran out of jackets because of inventory. That’s BS and not a good business practice.

The girl taking my order was suuuper nice! She recommended the moonmud and said that it was the most delicious drink ever. Man I gotta say I completelyy agree it was amazing. Some reviews mentioned that the Wi-Fi was slow but I was here on 11−17−15 and it was fine when I was watching Netflix in HD. Love the vibe here very chill.

When it comes to local coffee houses, there aren’t many options in McAllen. Fortunately, MoonBeans is the local standout amongst all the Starbucks and McCafes. Staff is upbeat, coffee selection is good, tea selection is decent — they even have almond milk. Free wi-fi, plenty of seating, pastries baked in house … it’s the perfect spot to study, host meetings or just hang out on the patio.

I will definitely miss MoonBeans the most out of everything in the valley. Great atmosphere! Great Staff The Oreo Orbit is a must! I add banana when I want a little variation & when winter weather is here a Blueberry Scone is the perfect companion.

One star for the service. The girl taking our orders was very friendly and helpful. We ordered 3 coffees, salad and sandwich. We went back to ask for a fork, in which they replied, «sorry we ran out.» I then saw the barista ask the manager and the manager shrugged her off like«leave me alone, we don’t have forks» attitude. We return the salad. We then continue to wait for the sandwich. We finally ask about it, and they have forgotten to make it. Absolutely ridiculous and management needs to be reevaluated.

Moonbeans is a local Valley staple. The atmosphere is just grungy enough to where it’s not seedy, just mildly Austinesque and the staff is always friendly and willing to offer a new way to hussy up my Java — Thumbs up.

Stopped in for a cup of coffee and breakfast! Great atmosphere and service! Tried the oatmeal and it was excellent! Plenty of room to spread out your work if you need to. Several tables are large enough to hold an impromptu meeting and free wifi for you road warriors. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is that it looks like they are going through a period of renovation or repairs to the place with the ceiling tiles out and raw sheetrock here and there. Other wise it would be five stars without reservation! Watch out Starbucks!

The coffee is great and the staff is generally nice. I’ve dealt with two unwelcoming staff members but I haven’t seen them but once. They recently remodeled the place which I say works in their favor. It is a much more open concept with more additional seating. It’s not quite finished but I’m looking forward to what’s to come. The only drawback is their wifi sucks! I’ve lived in the valley just over a year and this was immediately one of my favorite spots upon moving to this area. But since I can remember they have always had shitty wifi service. I’m constantly being logged in/out of the Internet. It’s just such a hassle and makes me not really want to come here. I actually find myself frequenting the corporate coffee shop up the road, who has good service wifi that is never down.

I don’t go to this place for the scene, I go for the amazing coffee. Though the pricing can be a bit much(hence the four stars), it’s definitely worth it. My two favorites: Moonmud(hot and cold) and THE Oreo Orbit. Never a let down. Often times it’s super busy, but overall not that long of a wait.

This place was a blessing in the almost Mexico part of Texas. The manager was very sweet and the baristas(Especially Marco!) cool. Oh and they make a mean latte with a very peaceful good vibe hangout!!!

I was excited about discovering this place: the ambiance, the drinks – but it fell short.(1) Rude Staff(2) Slow wifi When I got there I told the«barista» it was my first time there and asked her what her favorite drink was. Whatever she told me I ordered it. After she told me she’d call my name when it was ready, I proceeded to take a seat in the area with tables. There was Christmas music blaring in the place and I never heard my name get called. I saw her pass by a couple of times and C’mon the place is small she knew who I was and what I had ordered(her favorite drink!). After 10 minutes I go to ask see my drink with the whipped cream falling over to the side and withering away. I asked her why she didn’t call me or tell me(seriously, there were less than 10 people in the shop) and her reply was«I called your name and you didn’t come.» Really??? I’d pay $ 5 for a drink and VOLUNTARILY ignore you? Obviously not. I saw her standing like 10 feet away from me numerous times and she didn’t make an effort to say«hey.your drink is ready.» Sad to see that some people are there to do the BAREMINIMUM just to get by. Left a really bad impression on me and I rrrrrreally don’t think the owner of this locale stands for that. Moving on to(2) I struggled to open my gmail through the wifi they provide. I ended up working from my phone and drinking my melted drink.

Love the atmosphere and especially their hot chocolate. The«bens meteor» is my absolute favorite now. Hot cocoa w/shot of espresso & brown sugar. Don’t forget to ask for whipped cream and sprinkles!

I had a delicious chai cold drink with almond milk, I was grateful for the lactose-free option and it hit the spot on a warm night. I liked everything except for a couple of hipster bums sitting at tables inside and out without purchasing anything. Actual customers deserve those seats. I don’t think I’m young or cool enough for this place, but I’ll be back, just maybe not on a Friday night.

Just moved here from Miami last October and I was so glad to see a local little coffee shop here. I’m sick of every city being over run with Starbucks. This is the only coffee shop my fiancé and I go to. I love the warm homey décor of this place. The girls behind the counter are always super sweet and patient. I love how they allow local artists to display their drawings by the register. I’ve had their lattes, mochas and cappuccinos and they’re all perfectly made. Good flavor but not too bitter, not too sweet and not too diluted with milk or cream. I have yet to try their Oreo Orbit, but that will definitely be my order the next time I go back. There’s just nothing bad I can say about Moonbeans I’m so glad I found this place.
