Service was terrible, they made a Cesar salad and put crackers on top of iceberg lettuce. Entrees came before appetizers, drinks were slow. Food tasted like left overs and the steak was a terrible cut and under cooked… this place won’t make it until the middle of 2014

Went here to see a recent high profile boxing fight. We were planning on a great dinner and cold drinks. The place was under staffed so we never got our food and they ran out of cold beer before the fight was over. I ended getting dinner at a drive thru on the way home.

I loved it here :) I had a steak and it was cooked perfect. They came to my table and had a show making some desert, it was sooo cool! lol

I seriously think you should try their International Lunch Buffett. It’s $ 10.99 Mon-Thur 12−3pm $ 12.99 Fri-Sun 12−5pm and kids under 10 years cost $ 5.99. The selection changes everyday and to me it’s the best buffett in McAllen. You won’t regret it. Try it and you’ll agree with me.

This place actually made me angry. I was looking forward to a nice steak. Chose the rib-eye for $ 36. What arrived reminded me of the kind of steak you’d get a Luby’s. Seriously? The total bill for three of us was around $ 190. Which is acceptable for a good dinner, but for a bad one? Stay away unless you like really fatty, really thin steaks that appear to be boiled. Oh, and you better speak Spanish because no one understood a word of English. Sad, just plain sad…

I had heard mixed reviews from a variety of friends and family, and finally decided to try it for myself. The building looks great outside and in, almost like a dungeon, but not at all in a dreary way. The first thing my party and I noticed was the dining area itself is very clean. We were attended to almost immediately and asked to sit at any available table of our choosing. The menu was decently sized and not so large as to leave you wondering whether or not your food will actually be fresh. However, it’s definitely not typical steakhouse fare. There is a mixture of Mexican dishes, some Italian, and American foods mixed together. As an example, I can recall steaks and sides a la carte as in any steakhouse, cabrito, street-style tacos, a grilled chicken sandwich served torta-style, hamburgers, spaghetti bolognese, paella, and fairly inventive appetizers. The two dinner rolls we received did not appear to be cooked on site, were crushed as if they had been handled roughly with tongs, and were dry. Soup was served lukewarm. The salads were fresh and were dressed perfectly. A filet of beef was ordered at our table and arrived butterflied and also lukewarm. Most steak aficionados will agree this is a sin. It definitely shortens cook time, but the beef was overdone. Other diners liked their food, but I was surprised that a filet would come butterflied at a steak house when requested at medium-rare temperature. The joy of a filet is the tender, flavorful char on the outside and warm, red inside; not having this experience when ordering a $ 40 steak is unfortunate. A side dish of(yep, lukewarm) mashed potatoes arrived on a bed of lettuce, which quickly wilted and mixed in with bites of the potatoes. The potatoes appeared to be seasoned with butter, parsley, and garlic, but were garnished with tomato and a sprig of rosemary. The service was definitely excellent as others have commented; our waiter was very attentive and even cleaned trash off the table as the meal went on, which is rare in this area and a real treat. Overall, I was disappointed with the meal, and did not feel it was worth the cost. Ultimately, details spoiled an otherwise average experience.

Great selection of draft and bottle beers. Half off all beers between 4:00 and 8:00 pm. Ladrillo steak was tender and cooked to correct temperature. The fried avocado appetizer was outstanding along with platano flameado. Service was impeccable. Do not be deceived by the name«The Pub Steakhouse.» It is not a pub nor does it have pub-grub style food. It is a family restaurant with a great menu.

The atmosphere is not as good as the food, basically one big noisy room with a big bar in the back. However if all the food is as good as the Spanish paella($ 24) for two you won’t go wrong the paella was nicely seasoned and loaded with tasty seafood. It is enough to serve 4. We also had a fried avocado as an appetizer which was also delicious

It’s a Steak House with an Irish name, but with a Spanish flair. Service was excellent. A bit pricey, but expected for a steakhouse. Steak was cooked as requested, hot and fresh food. Margarita was good, not watered down nor too strong. Restaurant has an upscale look yet comfortable enough for a causal dinner.
