We went there with another couple on Valentine’s Day. There are several restaurants in that same vicinity and all had at least a 20 minute wait. Longhorn had immediate seating so we went there. That should have been our first clue. Service was slow and the appetizer took forever to get. We learned that another server took our order when it was ready. This happened twice, according to our waiter. The manager came by to explain and to comp the appetizer, which was the right thing to do. The food was so-so. I had chicken fried steak and the breading was over salted and wasn’t very good. The food at the rest of the table was average but nothing to remember. I wouldn’t eat there again. There is too much restaurant competition in this area and there are a lot better places to eat. I won’t go back again.

Service is absolutely terrible. Came back a second time to see if they were just having an off day, but no it was the service!!! Food was just ok. Steaks were over cooked. I will not be coming back.

The only reason I gave this location 2 stars instead of 1; is that the manager tried his best to make amends for my dissatisfaction with my meal. The salad was inedible, and my Flo’s Filet was tasteless. The server wasn’t attentive, didn’t ask if we wanted drink refills, and worst of all, he couldn’t keep track of who ordered what meal when he brought them out.(There was only two of us.) Thankfully, I’ve been to other Longhorn restaurants in my home state, or I’d never go back. That said, I will not return to this location.

I like Longhorn Steakhouse but the beer selection is abysmal. I’m sorry but Shiner Bock is not craft beer. I go for a nice dinner and I would like a nice beer with my dinner. The part that is ridiculous is that the waitress defends the shitty beer selection as if it’s okay. It’s not okay give me my damn beer.

Normally I like this place but today we had to walk out. It was uncomfortably cold. We waited several minutes to be seated and then no one came to take our order so we walked out. Hopefully it will be better next time.

Brought my son to try this newest restaurant in our area. Seems like i was the only one that hadnt tried saltgrass. Until now! I ordered the pats ribeye with a loaded baje potato and a tortilla soup. The steak was full of taste. Cooked just how i like it. The soip was excellent as well. Awesome. My son ordered the t bone and he was in awe with how tasty it was. The service was great too. They are very organized with about 4 different people stopping by our table. A super experience.

The portions of all the plates are huge! I enjoyed my lunch meal at longhorns. Friendly staff, fast service and our server checked on us very frequently. It’s a family friendly restaurant and prices are not too bad.

After a long day of work my husband and i went to Longhorn Steakhouse. Horrible experience. They sat us down immediately as we walked in but waitress never showed up. After 20 minutes my husband got up and told hostess it was taking too long. Hostess took our drink order. We waited another 25 minutes. Waitress still didn’t show up. We would see her passing back and forth to other tables. We waved at her called her and she completely ignored us. Finally hostess comes with our drinks but drops the drinks on our table getting us all wet. We got up and said enough we are leaving. The manager was standing there didn’t even apologize. We just walked out!!! Wasted so much time there, sad part my husband and I had worked 12 hour shift as ER nurse in local hospital and we were starving!!! They need to hire more staff and train their waiters and waitress well in customer service and the manager should get fired he obviously has none of that!!!

Great steak for a chain restaurant. The atmosphere is always great and my wife loves the black n blu martini.

My ribeye is always perfect !!! I love coming here! It’s a little pricey, my boyfriend and I spend around $ 60 – 70 and that’s without alcoholic beverages. But it is worth it!

Looking for something different, so thought we’d give this one a try. About 12:30 on a Saturday, every resto on this row was packed. Longhorn’s parking lot nearly empty. Hmmmm. Oh well – can’t be too bad since they have a second location in N. Mc, & it’s the same company as Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc. Premade, cheap, but usually somewhat palatable. Nope. Slow«service», bland sandwich & flavorless CFS.

Another restaurant being scratched off our list. Started out good. Service and food were great. This is now the fourth time that the food takes forever, arrives cold, fried food soggy and dripping in oil.

Walked into a moderate wait. No service at the bar while waiting for a table. Got a table wiped down with an incredibly wet cloth leaving the table and seat incredibly wet. …oh, there’s food here? My over-salted and heavily peppered New York Strip was expected. I should have seen this coming!

My husband and I had dinner here last night. Both our steaks were not cooked as asked. So having them cook them a bit more took more than our already 30 minute wait. There were empty tables around, so no it wasn’t busy. It seems to be the valley service is SLOW everywhere. Might give a chance someday.

It’s ok. I like the décor. I liked most of my meal, except ironically, the steak. I am getting ahead of myself. My meal came with a salad. I ordered low or non fat ranch on it. The ranch was horrible. Should have asked for the dressing on the side. I loved the bread with the honey butter, it was tough to not eat the whole thing. I had the chicken, shrimp and steak special with rice and veggies. The chicken was great and tasty, I pulled all the bacon off the shrimp, and the shrimp was also good, the veggies were awesome, the rice was good but a bit oily, my sirloin steak was bloody and I had ordered it medium well. So I sent it back and the guy, not our server but I guess his helper, tried to tell me that medium well means somewhat bloody. Um, the outer corners were bleeding, can’t imagine what the middle was like. The helper was rude on a few occasions. He made a jab at me that usually a woman doesnt order that much food. He really shouldnt be working face to face with people being that he doesn’t know how to treat customers. Our server was nice and no problems with him. When I got the steak back it was over cooked and hard and tough so I had a bite or two but it was too tough to eat. My husband had the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. But I had looked up the nutritional values and being that is a fatty cut of meat, and also huge, it has a huge amount of fat in it, so I would not recommend it to anyone who cares about their arteries even though the piece I had was delicious. All in all, their food is good except that they cant seem to get their steak cooked the way you order and the sirloin steak is not worth the«value» unless you like your steak so tough you can barely cut through it much less eat it.

We had lunch again today at the new Longhorn in McAllen. It has become our absolute fav. I can’t believe all those other people had such a bad experience. They do have a lunch menu with great burgers, excellent salads. But the sandwich that keeps calling me back is the Shaved Prime Rib. It comes with a very good side of seasoned fries. This is such a big lunch, I give my husband half of each & I’ve still had all I can eat. At dinner, they let me get the sandwich, even though it’s not on the menu. Another excellent choice is the salad with strawberries, grapes, Mandarin oranges, feta cheese, candied pecans, greens, & strawberry balsamic dressing. It is addictive, although the chopped BBQ salad is very good too. If you are looking for an appetizer, try the mushrooms that come smothered in wonderful stringy cheese. The French Onion soup is good. My husband loves the chicken with portabella mushroom. He likes the sweet potato. When it comes to steak, I always order a fillet MR& it’s been perfect. The drinks are good.

This is an Outback steakhouse wannabe. Food is okay but it worries me that a Steakhouse struggles to cook a steak properly. One of the earlier reviewer mentioned their steak was not cooked properly and I had the same experience. My steak was clearly underdone based on Longhorn’s own criteria as explained on the menu. Service was a little slow but not horrible.

When i first saw the building going up and saw that name«Longhorn Steakhouse» i got kind of excited. Then I read the informative review left by Catherine V. and thought i would give it a try. when i first walked into the place i loved the décor. it was excatly how i imagined it would be. we get seated and my wife opens the silverware and finds a mac and cheese crusted fork. no biggie she’s always finding dirty silverware. i order the 12 oz sirloin(medium of course) and wait patiently to sink my teeth into the«best steak», according to Catherine, i have ever tasted. well i get my food and the steak looks amazing. i cut into it and… well done. now i’m not one to complain and send food back because i believe it will have other ingredients other than what i ordered when it comes back out. about 90% of my steak was well done and the other 10% was medium. the mac and cheese i ordered as a side… TODIEFOR! ok so lunch is out of the way and my brother orders dessert. we get the dessert sampler and they put it on the table with extra plates and cold spoons. well again a spoon is half way encrusted with some kind of dessert another patron forgot to lick off. now the service… our waiter was nice and checked on us often, but every other waiter walking by was in a hurry to clear out dishes like they had a shortage in the kitchen or something lol. the other three people at our table loved their meal so maybe it was just my steak. at the end of the day i will try it again, but at this point i’m still favoring Texas Roadhouse.
