Upscale restaurant with good to great food. Reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere. Weekdays are busiest with conference guests. Weekends are my favorite– nearly deserted. Outdoor patio available where dogs are welcome. Easy free parking.

The general burger is awesome! I came up for a state training and at the end of a LONG class, their cocktails and beers hit the spot! Food is really good but I feel they need more options. All around awesome place for me and my crew! -#58

This bar is classy but not pretentious. It has an upscale, comfortable interior, friendly staff and great location. The food’s not bad either. I went there for happy hour many nights. They have ok prices on the drinks. The PBR is real cheap. What really sold me on this place was the free happy hour food. Free food! Not pretzels or chex mix either. They have different bar food every night. One night was a fruit platter, another was a cheese platter and then there was guac and chips. I polished off a quarter of the huge serving bowl the guac was so good. Oink! If you go, you might see me hoarding more than my fair share of bar food over in a corner. Don’t tell the bartenders on me! And save me some guac!

Have been eating here for years now, my favorite dishes are the Generals Burger, a huge burger with thick bacon and BBQ sauce, and also they rotate lunch specials, one being the Buffalo Chicken Salad, its a good size meal with breaded chicken, blue cheese, and spicy Buffalo sauce. They have a nice pub crowd at the bar with friendly bartenders and even karaōke on Thursday & Fridays. Top it all off they have great patio seating for dining and entertainment. My family has some roots in the military and its really nice to see how well its being maintained.

Visited again a few years later, this time with a friend. The pool has since been cemented over – kinda sad if you ask me, but I can see how someone’d want to use the space for a reception.(There goes my dream of an affordable poolside wedding reception in Sacramento though, womp womp…) The staff is still excellent and the food was great – plated and served in a style that makes you forget you’re in North Highlands. It’s an oasis, a best-kept secret for the area. Maybe we should start telling people about it before we end up losing something great!

I must start by declaring that I am a regular patron of the O Club. I love the place and when you walk in the staff is very friendly and responsive. The drinks are good and not over the top expensive. The food here is a range from bar food to excellent full steak meals. My favorites are the General’s Burger and the Fish and Chips. The club has 3 different settings, the bar area is friendly with great conversations, the dining room is spacious with large tables room for your food, wine, condiments and room to lay out business documents. The patio area is very large with matching service that you find in the dinning room. A great hidden destination in Sacramento.

I was impressed with the food, desserts and the food presentation. The bartender, Charles, was very personable and knowledgeable. Decent wine list, not overly priced. It is my new hangout on Thursdays and Fridays for Karaōke and a bottle of wine… and oh yeah, a new electronic dart machine!

I ate here while staying at the Lion’s Gate Hotel. The restaurant is the old officers’ club for Mather Air Force Base, and though fresh paint abounds, The O Club looks strikingly like an old officers’ club on a out-of-service Air Force base. The restaurant had a relatively limited dinner menu but I was very pleased with my meal. I had the calamari appetizer and the«General’s Burger». The burger was great, and the fries that came with the burger were cooked perfectly. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but see no reason to go «off base» to get dinner if you’re staying at the hotel.

Had it not been for the travelzoo coupon I would have never found this place in a million years. The food was basic. The T-bone steak was a bit over cooked and the fish was decent. The calamari and shrimp appetizer hit the spot although it was a little on the greasy side. The crème brûlée was not fresh! As a matter of fact it was completely cold and clearly stored to long. The top was not crispy but hind of flimsy and stale. The drinks were on the posh side and you could tell that they were really trying for originality with their cocktail menu, maybe a little to hard. The service was hokey. Don’t get me wrong, the servers were extremely friendly but the whole setup was geared towards a fine dining experience and the waitstaff interacted with you like you were in a southern diner. I think I would have enjoyed the experience a bit more if the outdoor patio was open and I could have eaten by the pool. Unfortunately without a special deal, it is unlikely that I will go out of my way to try this place again.

Not bad for a reformed military officer’s club while you get sent out on a week long conference for work. I can’t complain about breakfast every morning with a USA today and morning news on the tv. Not to mention that it gets pretty busy during week nights since so many people are there for work and there is nothing to do in North Highlands on a closed Airforce base. But…Thursdays is karoake night… and if you must go to anything here please go to that!!!

Came to the O Club. It was O — kay. Formerly an officer’s club in the height of the base days, the setting is almost anachronistic. Surrounding neighborhood has that 1950’s appeal to it and the outside of the building itself still carries some of that classic look. The view from the restaurant is of a sparkling, resort-style swimming pool. I jokingly asked our server if I could go swimming if I dined here and he said that no one would probably stop me.(Mind you the weather today is in the 60s and windy…) I had the fish & chips($ 11) based on a recommendation. Eh. I’ve had better. The fish did not seem fresh. I broke off a corner and the fried part actually separated from the fish. Not a good sign. And parts of the fish actually oozed oil from it. My colleague’s salmon on her salad($ 11) was burned on top. She had to scrape off the top portion! If Chef Ramsay would have been in the kitchen, he would have declared, «You’ve got to be bloody mad to serve that [bleepin’] salmon!». On a positive note, I did spy a quaint looking bar to one side. If I wasn’t here for work, I would have been tempted to order a vodka tonic and hang out. So my advice, don’t go for the food, go for the experience. It is kind of like visiting a special«members only» venue. Maybe on a sunny day, you could even wear your togs under your clothes and go for a quick dip! I dare you.

Food was not good. Who messes up a turkey and ham sandwich. I must have dined in on an «off» day because everyone else at work loves eating there. People recommend the Cobb Salad… go figure!
